PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father,
one of the most wonderful gifts we can receive in this life is finding a loving
and faithful companion who will walk beside us through life. One who will
encourage us, be fully honest with us, forgive us when we fail, love us even in
our unlovely state, one who will be strong when we are weak, lift us up when we
fall down, lovingly tend to our needs when we are sick and unable to care for
ourselves, believe in us when we don’t believe in ourselves, one who will lead
by example and help kindle spiritual growth in our lives. For all this and so
much more we thank You, Father, for the loving companionship of our mate. In
Christ’s name we pray. Amen.

and love that are in Christ Jesus.
PRAYER
FOR TODAY
Father,
thank You for the many Scriptures that reassure us we’re never
alone, such as the oft quoted comfort Psalm,
“Thou art with me”.
It’s when we look solely to other people to cure our loneliness that we neglect
the greatest cure which is looking to You and finding guidance and solace in
Scripture and in prayer! Help us to hide deeply in our hearts the words of our
Lord Jesus Christ, “Surely
I am with you always” (Matthew 28:20). His promise that He will never leave us nor
forsake us enables
us to endure even in the loneliest of circumstances. We are encouraged and
strengthened by Your promises and by the presence of Your Holy Spirit which
keeps us from being alone for all time. Amen.

PRAYER
FOR TODAY
Father,
Your grace exceeds our greatest sin and reaches our deepest need. When we read
the first chapter of Ephesians we are taken back by just how privileged we are
to be chosen in Christ before the creation of the world, to be predestined and
adopted as Your child through Him. Some of the richest and most tender portions
of Scripture that disclose the extent of Your love are revealed to us from
deplorable and unjust situations. What a wonderful reminder that Your work is
not limited to ideal circumstances but You do an inward work within our heart no
matter where we are or what difficulty we face. Because You lavish Your love on
us we cannot contain it but must share it with those around us. Help us to do so
freely and generously through Christ Jesus our Lord.
Amen.
