Monday August 24, 2009 thought for the day

WHERE IS MY BICYCLE?
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Courage is impossible in a world with no risk or pain-
2-The point of our lives in this world isn't comfort but preparation for eternity-
3-Justice delayed is not justice denied-
4-God is delaying the end of history out of his great love for people-
5-God whispers to us in our pleasures but shouts to us in our pain-
STRANGE THOUGHT-Drawing on my fine command of language I said nothing-
I'VE LEARNED-We need to say no to the important so we can say yes to the vital-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Should we view ourselves as a priceless treasure or a cracked pot?
2-Is God's love toward us always constant?
3-Is life a self fulfilling prophecy?
4-Jesus said to two blind men "according to your faith so be it done unto you". Is this still true today and in all parts of our life?
5-What is faith based on?
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY PSALMS 57
1 Be merciful to me, God; be merciful to me because I come to you for protection. Let me hide under the shadow of your wings until the trouble has passed.
2 I cry out to God Most High, to the God who does everything for me.
3 He sends help from heaven and saves me. He punishes those who chase me. God sends me his love and truth.
4 Enemies, like lions, are all around me; I must lie down among them. Their teeth are like spears and arrows, their tongues as sharp as swords.
5 God is supreme over the skies; his majesty covers the earth.
6 They set a trap for me. I am very worried. They dug a pit in my path, but they fell into it themselves.
7 My heart is steady, God; my heart is steady. I will sing and praise you.
8 Wake up my soul. Wake up, harp and lyre. I will wake up the dawn.
9 Lord, I will praise you among the nations; I will sing songs of praise about you to all the nations.
10 Your great love reaches to the skies, your truth to the clouds.
11 God, you are supreme above the skies. Let your glory be over all the earth.

Sunday August 23, 2009 thought for the day

DO YOU HAVE THIS PROBLEM?
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-The source of evil is not God's power but man's freedom-
2-An all powerful God could not have created a world in which people had genuine freedom and yet there be no potentiality for sin-
3-Real love must involve a choice, but with the granting of that choice comes the possibility that people would instead choose to hate-
4-The worst tragedy in history brought about the most glorious event in history-
5-Character is formed through hardships, overcoming obstacles and enduring desperate difficulties-
STRANGE THOUGHT-If you aim at nothing, you are sure to hit it-
I'VE LEARNED-There is only so much sand in the hourglass-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-What does "taking up our cross " mean and how is it done?
2-What are "spiritual eyes"?
3-As God's children, should we think highly or lowly of ourselves?
4-Is having a good self image taught or caught?
5-How high are Christians to think of themselves?
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY PSALMS 56
1 God, be merciful to me because people are chasing me; the battle has pressed me all day long.
2 My enemies have chased me all day; there are many proud people fighting me.
3 When I am afraid I will trust you.
4 I praise God for his word. I trust God, so I am not afraid. What can human beings do to me?
5 All day long they twist my words; all their evil plans are against me.
6 They wait. They hide. They watch my steps, hoping to kill me.
7 God, do not let them escape; punish the foreign nations in your anger.
8 You have recorded my troubles. You have kept a list of my tears. Aren't they in your records?
9 On the day I call for help, my enemies will be defeated. I know that God is on my side.
10 I praise God for his word to me; I praise the Lord for his word.
11 I trust in God. I will not be afraid. What can people do to me?
12 God, I must keep my promises to you. I will give you my offerings to thank you,
13 because you have saved me from death. You have kept me from being defeated. So I will walk with God in light among the living.
I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING-JASPER

Saturday August 22, 2009 thought for the day

TOUCHED BY GOD
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-The reality of suffering constitutes the single greatest challenge to the Christian faith-
2-Only in a world where faith is difficult can faith exist-
3-To those who don't believe I ask-If there is no God, where did we get the standard of goodness by which we judge evil as evil?
4-If death has no meaning, then life ultimately has no meaning-
5-God did not create evil, he created the possibility of evil and man actualized that potentiality-
STRANGE THOUGHT-When you stop to think, don't forget to start again-
I'VE LEARNED-Remarkable things often occur in unremarkable situations-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-How can we view Jesus who was also God as a servant?
2-Why is it hard for some Christians to admit there is unconfessed sin in their lives?
3-Can one be a Christian with unconfessed sin in their life?
4-Why do we want to hear a positive message that makes us feel good about ourselves than one about self denial or suffering for Jesus sake?
5-Do many Christians live out the gospel of Jesus through self denial and "taking up their cross" as Jesus demanded?
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY 55:12-23
12 It was not an enemy insulting me. I could stand that. It was not someone who hated me. I could hide from him.
13 But it is you, a person like me, my companion and good friend.
14 We had a good friendship and walked together to God's Temple.
15 Let death take away my enemies. Let them die while they are still young because evil lives with them.
16 But I will call to God for help, and the Lord will save me.
17 Morning, noon, and night I am troubled and upset, but he will listen to me.
18 Many are against me, but he keeps me safe in battle.
19 God who lives forever will hear me and punish them. But they will not change for they do not fear God.
20 The one who was my friend attacks his friends and breaks his promises.
21 His words are slippery like butter, but war is in his heart. His words are smoother than oil, but they cut like knives.
22 Give your worries to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will never let good people down.
23 But, God, you will bring down the wicked to the grave, murderers and liars will live only half a lifetime.. But I will trust in you.
I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING-JASPER

Friday August 21, 2009 thought for the day

MR CLEAN
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-We do not make requests of God because we are righteous but because of his great love and mercy-
2-God answers our prayers based on his goodness , not our worthiness-
3-Worship is a voluntary act of gratitude offered by the saved to the savior, by the healed to the healer, and the delivered to the deliverer-
4-God doesn't improve, he perfects. He doesn't enhance, he completes-
5-When God sees a Christian, he sees Jesus and the perfection paid for by him-
STRANGE THOUGHT-Have you ever seen a cemetery with a sign that says "sorry, we're full"?
I'VE LEARNED-Nothing restores perspective better than a trip to the emergency room-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Is it harder to share Jesus with a close friend or a complete stranger?
2-What does it mean to "follow Jesus"?
3-Is suffering for Jesus the same today as it was for his disciples?
4-The Jews wanted a messiah, but did they want as savior?
5-Does God expect his children to suffer rejection and persecution?
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY PSALMS 55:1-11
1 God, listen to my prayer and do not ignore my cry for help.
2 Pay attention to me and answer me. I am troubled and upset
3 by what the enemy says and how the wicked look at me. They bring troubles down on me, and in anger they attack me.
4 I am frightened inside; the terror of death has attacked me.
5 I am scared and shaking, and terror grips me.
6 I said , "I wish I had wings like a dove. Then I would fly away and rest.
7 I would wander far away and stay in the desert.
8 I would hurry to my place of escape, far away from the wind and storm."
9 Lord, destroy and confuse their words, because I see violence and fighting in the city.
10 Day and night they are all around its walls, and evil and trouble are everywhere inside.
11 Destruction is everywhere in the city; trouble and lying never leave its streets.

Thursday August 20, 2009 thought for the day

THE NURSING HOME MASCOT
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY-
1-The safest place to stand in your storm is next to your heavenly father-
2-Faith is not an award given to the most learned, most disciplined or most religious-
3-Faith is a desperate dive out of a sinking boat of human effort and a prayer that God will be there to catch us-
4-The supreme force in our salvation is God's grace, not our works, talents, feelings or strength-
5-The most amazing response to God's gift of salvation is our reluctance to accept it-
STRANGE THOUGHT-No matter how far you push the envelope, it will still be stationery-
I'VE LEARNED-We often forget strengths and instead point out weakness-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-How are spiritually blinded eyes opened to the gospel?
2-What does "being conformed to his death" mean?
3-Must humility play a part in accepting salvation?
4-Are spiritual pride and self righteousness similar?
5-Is it true "no prophet is accepted in his own country"?
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY PSALMS 54
1 God, save me because of who you are, by your strength show that I am innocent.
2 Hear my prayer, God; listen to what I say.
3 Strangers turn against me, and cruel men want to kill me. They do not care about God.
4 See, God will help me; the Lord will support me.
5 Let my enemies be punished with their own evil. Destroy them because you are loyal to me.
6 I will sacrifice as a special gift to you. I will thank you, Lord, because you are good.
7 You have saved me from all my troubles, and I have seen my enemies defeated.
I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING-JASPER

Wednesday August 19, 2009 thought for the day-

ILLUSION
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Faith can often be the child of fear-
2-Great acts of faith are seldom born out of calm calculation-
3-At the beginning of every act of faith there is often a seed of fear-
4-Faith that begins with fear ends you up closer to the Lord-
5-Faith begins when you are in a valley and you see God on the mountain and you know you are too weak to make the climb-
STRANGE THOUGHT-Worse than raining cats and dogs is hailing taxi cabs-
I'VE LEARNED-When energy intended to be used outside is used inside, the result is an explosion-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Why did God send Jesus to such a lowly position instead of one with status and prestige?
2-Why is the Gospel of Jesus so repugnant to many religious people?
3-Do Christians tend to have spiritual pride?
4-Would seeing a great "miracle" happen turn people to Jesus for salvation?
5-Is it possible to see the "unseen" spiritual world?
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY PSALMS 53
1 Fools say to themselves, "There is no God." Fools are evil and do terrible things; none of them does anything good.
2 God looked down from heaven on all people to see if anyone was wise, if anyone was looking to God for help.
3 But all have turned away. Together, everyone has become evil; none of them does anything good. Not a single person.
4 Don't the wicked understand. They destroy my people as if they were eating bread. They do not ask God for help.
5 The wicked are filled with terror where there had been nothing to fear. God will scatter the bones of your enemies. You will defeat them, because God has rejected them.
6 I pray that victory will come to Israel from Mount Zion. May God bring them back. Then the people of Jacob will rejoice, and the people of Israel will be glad.
I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING-JASPER

Tuesday August 18, 2009 thought for the day

RETIREMENT
HERE ARE MY THOUHGTS FOR TODAY
1-We should love God more than we fear hell-
2-When no one is watching, live as though someone is-
3-Toot your own horn and your notes come out flat-
4-Never let the important fall victim to the trivial-
5-As the mother sees yesterday, a daughter sees tomorrow-
STRANGE THOUGHT-Even the woodpecker owes his success to the fact he uses his head-
I'VE LEARNED-When the called to fish don't fish, they fight-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Can miracles be imitated?
2-How do you judge a "miracle" to be true or not?
3-How do we know when a "miracle" is from God?
4-Are all good coincidences "miracles"?
5-Can we know Jesus as savior and not surrender to him as Lord?
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY PSALMS 52
1 Mighty warrior, why do you brag about the evil you do. God's love will continue forever.
2 You think up evil plans. Your tongue is like a sharp razor, making up lies.
3 You love wrong more than right and lies more than truth.
4 You love words that bite and tongues that lie.
5 But God will ruin you forever. He will grab you and throw you out of your tent; he will tear you away from the land of the living.
6 Those who do right will see this and fear God. They will laugh at you and say,
7 "Look what happened to the man who did not depend on God but depended on his money. He grew strong by his evil plans."
8 But I am like an olive tree growing in God's temple. I trust God's love forever and ever.
9 God, I thank you forever for what you have done. With those who worship you, I will trust you because you are good.

Monday August 17, 2009 thought for the day

A FREE CAR WASH
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Yesterday's challenges are lost in today's joy-
2-Jesus might come in a way we don't expect and we might miss the answers to our prayers-
3-If we do what is right God will do what is best-
4-Because we look for the bright light we miss the candle light, and because we listen for the shout we miss the whisper-
5-One failure doesn't make a person a failure, and one achievement doesn't make a person a success-
STRANGE THOUGHT-Don't take life too seriously, it is not permanent-
I'VE LEARNED-Solitude and no service equals selfishness-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Does God make everything perfect?
2-Is God responsible for all the deaths in earthly calamities?
3-Did Mary's family and friends know Joseph was not Jesus' father?
4-When did Mary and Joseph wed?
5-Why is there no mention in scripture of Mary and Joseph having a wedding?
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY 51:10-19
10 Create in me a pure heart, God, and make my spirit right again.
11 Do not send me away from you or take your Holy Spirit away from me.
12 Give me back the joy of your salvation. Keep me strong by giving me a willing spirit.
13 Then will I teach your ways to those who do wrong, and sinners will turn back to you.
14 God, save me from the guilt of murder, God of my salvation, and I will sing about your goodness.
15 Lord, let me speak so I may praise you.
16 Your are not pleased by sacrifices, or I would give them. You don't want burnt offerings.
17 The sacrifice God wants is a broken spirit. God, you will not reject a heart that is broken and sorry for sin.
18 Do whatever good you wish for Jerusalem. Rebuild the walls of Jerusalem.
19 Then you will be pleased with right sacrifices and whole burnt offers, and bulls will be offered on your altar.

Sunday August 16, 2009 thought for the day

LOVE IS WHEN YOU DON'T WANT TO GO TO SLEEP BECAUSE REALITY IS BETTER THAN A DREAM!!
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Blessed are those who know what they are on earth to do and do it-
2-It is hard to see God through the feelings of pain-
3-When you can't find God, trust him anyway-
4-Christians can endure their journey because they know their destination-
5-God never said the journey would be easy, but he did say the arrival would be worth it-
STRANGE THOUGHT-Don't play stupid with me for I always win-
I'VE LEARNED-The lack of your love for God does not diminish God's love for you-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Why were the dead sea scrolls and other manuscripts hidden for thousands of years?
2-Why was the Bible compiled the way it was over hundreds of years instead of being given as were the 10 commandments?
3-Does obedience always bring understanding?
4-How do we reconcile Paul's statement "I have learned that in whatsoever state I am therewith to be content" with prosperity preachers saying God always wants you to have health, wealth and happiness?
5-If God spoke to you, would you know it was him?
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY PSALMS 51:1-9
1 God, be merciful to me because you are loving. Because you are always ready to be merciful, wipe out all my wrongs.
2 Wash away all my guilt and make me clean again.
3 I know about my wrongs, and I can't forget my sin.
4 You are the only one I have sinned against; I have done what you say is wrong. You are right when you speak and fair when you judge.
5 I was brought into this world in sin. In sin my mother gave birth to me.
6 You want me to be completely truthful, so teach me wisdom.
7 Take away my sin, and I will be clean. Wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
8 Make me hear sounds of joy and gladness; let the bones you crushed be happy again.
9 Turn your face from my sins and wipe out all my guilt.

5-Can you worship God without surrendering to Him?
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY PSALMS 50:16-23
16 But God says to the wicked, ?Why do you talk about my laws? Why do you mention my agreements?
17 You hate my teachings and turn your back on what I say.
18 When you see a thief, you join him. You take part in adultery.
19 You don't stop your mouth from speaking evil, and your tongue makes up lies.
20 You speak against your brother and lie about your mother's son.
21 have kept quiet while you did these things, so you thought I was just like you. But I scold you and accuse you to your face.
22 Think about this, you who forget God. Otherwise, I will tear you apart, and no one will save you.
23 Those people honor me who bring me offerings to show thanks. And I, God, will save those who do that."

Sunday August 9, 2009 thought for the day

HE IS ALWAYS NEAR
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Misconceptions about faith often open the door to doubts because they can create false expectations or misunderstandings about God-
2-Love is a fruit, the first fruit of the Spirit-
3-The same voice that stilled the storm on the sea of Galilee can still the storm in your life-
4-There are times when life's conductor stops the drums and only the flute is allowed to play-

STRANGE THOUGHT-Don't insult the alligator until you've crossed the river-
I'VE LEARNED-We have the power to change another's life by the words we speak-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Is God concerned with every detail of our lives?
2-Are all of our abilities spiritual abilities?
3-Do we "surrender" or "submit" ourselves to God?
4-How do we live our lives for God as a "living sacrifice"?
5-How do we give our lives completely to God?
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY PSALMS 50:7-15
7 God says, "My people, listen to me; Israel, I will testify against you. I am God, your God.
8 I do not scold you for your sacrifices. You always bring me your burnt offerings.
9 But I do not need bulls from your stalls or goats from your pens,
10 because every animal of he forest is already mine. The cattle on a thousand hills are mine.
11 I know every bird on the mountains, and every living thing in the fields is mine.
12 If I were hungry, I would not tell you, because the earth and everything in it are mine.
13 I don't eat the meat of bulls or drink the blood of goats.
14 Give an offering to show thanks to God. Give God Most High what you have promised.
15 Call to me in times of trouble. I will save you, and you will honor me."

Friday August 7, 2009 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Hell is not a place of people who just didn't believe the right way but those who defy their creator and want their own way-
2-Confession should be one of the hallmarks of a Christian-admit fault, seek forgiveness and endeavor to change your way-
3-Not everything done in the name of Christ should be attributed to Christianity-
4-There is a difference between cultural and authentic Christianity-
5-Christianity gives us a revaluation of the meaning of life-
HELPFUL THOUGHT-Sometimes when you are angry with someone, it helps to sit down and think about the problem-
I'VE LEARNED-You don't have to speak to encourage-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-If God destroyed the world in Noah's day because it was so wicked, what keeps him from doing it again now?
2-Is the world more wicked now than in Noah's day?
3-What is the evidence of meaningful worship?
4-Do we need to know why, when God asks us to do something?
5-What is the sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving?
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY PSALMS 50:1-6
1The God of gods, the Lord, speaks. He calls the earth from the rising to the setting sun.
2 God shines from Jerusalem, whose beauty is perfect.
3 Our God comes, and he will be silent. A fire burns in front of him, and a powerful storm surrounds him.
4 He calls to the sky above and to the earth that he might judge his people.
5 He says "Gather around, you who worship me, who have made an agreement with me, using a sacrifice."
6 God is the judge, and even the skies say his is right.

Thursday August 6, 2009 thought for the day

FRIENDS
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-God allows people to suffer the natural consequences of the attitudes and actions they have chosen to have-
2-Peoples character is not formed by major decisions but by the thousands of little choices made every day-
3-The ultimate sin is rejection of God, the ultimate punishment is everlasting separation from God-
4-The longer people live separated from God, the less likely they are able to exercise their free choice and place trust in Him-
5-We should never decide what is true based on what we like or don't like-
STRANGE THOUGHT-Don't force it, get a bigger hammer-
I'VE LEARNED-Right or wrong we define ourselves through other peoples eyes-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Are church services for our benefit or God's benefit?
2-What are we supposed to get out of a worship service?
3-How much should tradition be a part of church services-
4-Should all church services be "praise and worship" services?
5-How can you eat and drink to the glory of God?
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY PSALMS 49:13-20
13 This is what will happen to those who trust in themselves and to their followers who believe them.
14 Like sheep, they must die, and death will be their shepherd. Honest people will rule over them in the morning, and their bodies will rot in a grave far from home.
15 But God will save my life and will take me from the grave.
16 Don't be afraid of rich people because their houses are more beautiful.
17 They don't take anything to the grave; their wealth won't go down with them.
18 Even though they were praised when they were alive-and people may praise you when you succeed-
19 they will go to where their ancestors are. They will never see light again.
20 Rich people with no understanding are just like animals that die.

Wednesday August 5, 2009 thought for the day

Illusion
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-There is sorrow to delayed salvation because your tears are tears of what was lost before you came to God-
2-One of the hard truths of scripture is to understand that we do not earn our way to heaven-
3-Good works have a place as a demonstration of receiving God's forgiveness but not as a merit badge of having earned it-
4-Often, something we like isn't the right thing to do and often the right thing isn't pleasurable-
5-Hell is the final place for those who refuse to live for the purpose for which they were created-
STRANGE THOUGHT-Does fuzzy logic make sense?
I'VE LEARNED-We often try to claim goodness by comparing ourselves to others-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Do all people worship something?
2-What kind of music is worship music--praise music?
3-How do we classify music as worship or praise music for can't a song be both?
4-Is there a Biblical style of music?
5-What makes a song sacred, the music or the words?
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY PSALMS 49:1-12
1 Listen to this all you nations; listen, all you who live on earth.
2 Listen, both great and small, rich and poor together.
3 What I say is wise, and my heart speaks with understanding.
4 I will pay attention to a wise saying; I will explain my riddle on the harp.
5 Why should I be afraid of bad days? Why should I fear when evil men surround me?
6 They trust in their money and brag about their riches.
7 No one can buy back the life of another. No one can pay God for his own life,
8 because the price of a life is high. No payment is ever enough.
9 Do people life forever? Don't they all face death?
10 See, even wise people die. Fools and stupid people also die and leave their wealth to others.
11 Their graves will always be their homes. They will live there from now on, even though they named places after themselves.
12 Even rich people do not live forever; like the animals, people die.

Tuesday August 4, 2009 thought for the day

FITNESS
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-What a person really and truly believes is what they will eventually live out-
2-Where there are no moral standards, raw power often wins out-
3-Jesus didn't come to make bad people good, he came to make dead people alive-
4-Anyone who spends eternity with God does so because of God's grace and Jesus' provision-
5-If hell is the absence of God, then for me to live with the absence of God is to be already on the road to hell-
STRANGE THOUGHT-Don't bother me, I'm living happily ever after-
I'VE LEARNED-If God gave everyone what they truly deserve, no one would get to heaven-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-When are we spiritually mature?
2-What is Christlike character?
3-How do we glorify God's name?
4-How can life be enjoyed when it is so full of wickedness, sickness and heartache?
5-Does God have emotions as we know them?
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY PSALMS 48
1 The Lord is great; he should be praised in the city of our God, on his holy mountain.
2 It is high and beautiful and brings joy to the whole world. Mount Zion is like the high mountains of the north; it is the city of the Great King.
3 God is within its palaces; he is known as its defender.
4 Kings joined together and came to attack the city.
5 But when they saw it, they were amazed. They ran away in fear.
6 Fear took hold of them; they hurt like a woman having a baby.
7 You destroyed the large trading ships with an east wind.
8 First we heard and now we have seen that God will always keep his city safe. It is the city of the Lord All-Powerful, the city of our God.
9 God, we come into your Temple to think about your love.
10 God, your name is known everywhere; all over the earth people praise you. Your right hand is full of goodness.
11 Mount Zion is happy and all the towns of Judah rejoice, because your decisions are fair.
12 Walk around Jerusalem and count its towers.
13 Notice how strong they are. Look at the palaces. Then you can tell your children about them.
14 This God is our God forever and ever. He will guide us from now on.

Monday August 3, 2009 thought for the day

FUNNY
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-God is the explanation for the miracle of existence-
2-It is not for lack of evidence that people turn from God, it is their own pride or will-
3-Love never works coercively, it only works persuasively-
4-If truth is not undergirded by love, it makes the possession of that truth obnoxious and the truth repulsive-
5-You cannot communicate the love of God in non loving terms-
Strange thought-If you would kick the behind of the person who has hurt you the most, you wouldn't be able to sit down for weeks-
I'VE LEARNED-If God does not exist, then objective moral values do not exist-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-How did Jesus bring glory to God?
2-How do we bring glory to God?
3-Jesus said "As I have loved you so love one another."-How is this to be done?
4-If we aren't loving to Christian folks, how will the world know we are Jesus' disciples?
5-What is spiritual maturity?
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY PSALMS 47
1 Clap your hands, all you people. Shout to God with joy.
2 The Lord Most High is wonderful. He is the great King over all the earth!
3 He defeated nations for us and put them under our control.
4 He chose the land we would inherit. We are the children of Jacob, whom he loved.
5 God has risen with a shout of joy; the Lord has risen as the trumpets sounded.
6 Sing praises to God. Sing praises. Sing praises to our king. Sing praises.
7 God is King of all the earth, so sing a song of praise to him.
8 God is King over the nations. God sits on his holy throne.
9 The leaders of the nations meet with the people of the God of Abraham, because the leaders of the earth belong to God. He is supreme!

Sunday August 2, 2009 thought for the day

LIFE AT THE BEACH
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-You seldom make wise decisions in a hurry-
2-When you wait on God, your situation may not change but you will-
3-Sin does have temporary pleasures and disobedience has its exhilarating moments-
4-The only way a Christian really knows Christianity is true is through the witness of the Holy Spirit-
5-Don't confuse what the Bible records with what it approves-
STRANGE THOUGHT-Does the reverse side have a reserve side?
I'VE LEARNED-When work becomes pleasure there is no reason to complain-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-What does it mean "to God be the Glory"?
2-Do all God's creation bring glory to God?
3-How do we "fall short" of the glory of God?
4-How do we live for God's glory?
5-Can we give God the full glory he deserves?
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY PSALMS 46
1 God is our protection and our strength. He always helps in times of trouble.
2 So we will not be afraid even if the earth shakes, or the mountains fall into the sea,
3 even if the oceans roar and foam, or the mountains shake at the raging sea.
4 There is a river that brings joy to the city of God, the holy place where God Most High lives.
5 God is in that city, and so it will not be shaken. God will help her at dawn.
6 Nations tremble and kingdoms shake. God shouts and the earth crumbles.
7 The Lord All Powerful is with us; the God of Jacob is our defender.
8 Come and see what the Lords has done, the amazing things he has done on the earth.
9 He stops wars everywhere on the earth. He breaks all bows and spears and burns up the chariots with fire.
10 God says, "Be quiet and know that I am God. I will be supreme over all the nations, I will be supreme in the earth."
11 The Lord All Powerful is with us; the God of Jacob is our defender.

Saturday August 1, 2009 thought for the day

PEACE
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-God doesn't give temporary relief, he gives a permanent solution-
2-There is no such thing as an insignificant step on the road of temptation-
3-Few things are more infectious than a Godly lifestyle-
4-Anger is a learned reaction to frustration in which you behave in ways you wished you hadn't-
5-There is always two sides on road of conflict-
STRANGE THOUGHT-Your train of thought needs to have a caboose-
I'VE LEARNED-Hindsight always gives a lot of insight-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-How do the heavens declare the glory of God?
2-What is the glory of God?
3-How does God reveal his glory to people?
4-Is there a sun in heaven?
5-What are we to do with the glory of God?
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY PSALMS 45:10-17
10 Listen to me, daughter; look and pay attention. Forget your people and your father's family.
11 The king loves your beauty. Because he is your master, you should obey him.
12 People from the city of Tyre have brought a gift. Wealthy people will want to meet you.
13 The princess is very beautiful. Her gown is woven with gold.
14 In her beautiful clothes she is brought to the king. Her bridesmaids follow behind her, and they are also brought to him.
15 They come with happiness and joy; they enter the king's palace.
16 You will have sons to replace your fathers. You will make them rulers through all the land.
17 I will make your name famous from now on, so people will praise you forever and ever.
