1-What we give to God is never lost and what we withhold is never gained-
2-For those who grieve, God gives beauty instead of ashes, gladness instead of mourning and praise instead of despair-
3-It is doubtful if the majority have ever been right-
4-Once fear is removed, peace quickly fills the vacuum-
5-Ministry is a believers calling not a name for religious activity-

STRANGE THOUGHT-Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect-

I'VE LEARNED-Always try to be a little more kinder than necessary-

1-Is a person saved by their faith alone?

PRETTY COUNTRY CHURCH

(SORRY THIS IS LATE TODAY! PAT AND I SPENT THE DAY WITH HER MOTHER IN THE HOSPITAL THINKING THIS MIGHT BE HER LAST DAY OF LIFE. BUT AS GOD WOULD HAVE IT, SHE RALLIED, AT LEAST FOR TODAY. BUT, LONG TERM PROGNOSIS IS NOT GOOD.)

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY-

1-Kindness is the oil that takes the friction out of life-

2-People who are hurting don't need a tongue lashing, they need a tender touch-

3-Hurt people, hurt people-

4-Often, the more you get of what you want, the less you want of what you get-

5-No one finds a real deep communion with God until he has met adversity and been forced to a point that he is broken, utterly helpless before God-

1-At work what is important is the doing, at home it is the being-

1-Why were the gospels written so long after Jesus' life?

1-Would Moses have received the 10 commandments had the Israelites not been wandering in the wilderness?

2-How could Noah's descendents possibly have repopulated the earth after the great flood?

3- Was incest allowed after the great flood to repopulate the earth?

4-Where did the different races of people come from?

5-Why would Noah's descendents have dispersed to far lands to live after the flood-wouldn't they have wanted to live together as family?

1-God has plans for my day and a purpose for my future-

4-In the garden of your life, leave room for angels to dance-

5-In order to feel the worth of the anchor, we need to feel the strength of the storm.

STRANGE THOUGHT-Pretty much all the truth telling there is in the world is done by children-

I'VE LEARNED-Sometimes God lets us struggle with the oars of our boat of life until we recognize our dependence on him-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW-

1-Did Jesus appear to his mother Mary after the resurrection?-If not, why not?

2-Did Jesus' mother Mary understand what his crucifixion was all about?

3-Did Jesus' siblings know who he really was and were followers and believers in him?

4-Would Jesus' siblings have been at the crucifixion?

5-If we are to be so tolerant of other religions, why did God instruct the Israelites to be so brutal to their neighbors?

1-Whatever God asks you to lift, he gives you the grace to carry-

4-Faith makes things possible not necessarily easy-

1 God, nations have come against your chosen people. They have ruined your holy Temple. They have turned Jerusalem into ruins.

3 They have spilled blood like water all around Jerusalem. No one was left to bury the dead.

4 We are a joke to the other nations; they laugh and make fun of us.

5 Lord, how long will this last? Will you be angry forever? How long will your jealousy burn like a fire?

6 Be angry with the nations that do not know you and with the kingdoms that do not honor you.

7 They have gobbled up the people of Jacob and destroyed their land.

8 Don't punish us for our past sins. Show your mercy to us soon, because we are helpless!

1-Worry comes from the realization that we are powerless to affect change and our lack of faith in God who can-

1-Has Jesus always been the only way to God?

2-Why does the bible not say from what countries the wise men were from?

3-There were developed civilizations in other parts of the world both before and during Jesus' time. How did God communicate with them and what about their eternal life?

4-Are people "lost" who never hear about Jesus? What about those who've never heard even for thousands of years both before and after Jesus' life?

5-Were the Hebrews the only peoples that God contacted and communicated with?

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY

1-We need to ask "what does God want for me" not what does my heart want-

2-If Jesus can forgive sins, he surely can also heal sickness and hurts-

3-What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world and yet loses his marriage and/or family?

4-Faith is trusting God's direction without knowing our destination-

5-When your heart is in pieces, God will mend it with his peace-

STRANGE THOUGHT-If dogs could talk, it would take a lot of the fun out of owning one-

I'VE LEARNED-My biggest problem is with myself-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW

1-Why did God bless our country when we so abused the native American and African American peoples?

2-How long can God continue to bless America when there is so much wickedness, abuse and violence especially toward women and children?

3-Are people fooling themselves they are Christian when they have such strong racial bias toward other races?

4-How can people be Christian when they feel superior to other peoples?

5-Did Jesus die for the sins of people who lived before he did or just those who lived after his crucifixion?

40 They turned against God so often in the desert and grieved him there.

41 Again and again they tested God and brought pain to the Holy One of Israel.

42 They did not remember his power or the time he saved them from the enemy.

43 They forgot the signs he did in Egypt and his wonders in the fields of Zoan.

44 He turned their rivers to blood so no one could drink the water.

45 He sent flies that bit the people. He sent frogs that destroyed them.

46 He gave their crops to grasshoppers and what they worked for to locusts.

47 He destroyed their vines with hail and their sycamore trees with sleet.

48 He killed their animals with hail and their cattle with lightning.

49 He showed them his hot anger. He sent his strong anger against them, his destroying angels.

50 He found a way to show his anger. He did not keep them from dying but let them die by a terrible disease.

51 God killed all the firstborn sons in Egypt, the oldest son of each family of Ham.

52 But God led his people out like sheep and he guided them like a flock through the desert.

53 He led them to safety so they had nothing to fear, but their enemies drowned in the sea.

54 So God brought them to his holy land, to the mountain country he took with his own power.

4-Praying together out loud is the most intimate form of communication-

5-Faith overcomes doubt-

1-What does baptism mean or represent?

2-Who can baptize and who can be baptized?

4-Is total immersion the only proper way of baptism?

26 He sent the east wind from heaven and led the south wind by his power.

27 He rained meat on them like dust. The birds were as many as the sand of the sea.

29 So the people ate and became very full. God had given them what they wanted.

30 While they were still eating, and while the food was still in their mouths,

AN INTERESTING ILLUSION

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY

1-Enthusiasm is self confidence in action-

2-Jesus is the center of your joy-

3-If you don't submit to the authority of God, he will allow another authority to come over you-

4-It is not what you lost that is important but what you have left-

5-God loves you for who you are, not for what you did or didn't do-

STRANGE THOUGHT-He who laughs first also laughs last if no one laughed in the middle-

I'VE LEARNED-God can use a set back to move you ahead-

1-Is anything "God's Word" besides the Bible?

2-What is the difference between worry and meditation?

3-What does it mean that Jesus is the friend of sinners?

4-Why was Jesus not baptized until he was 30 years old?

1-In serving others, the heart is more important than the hand-

2-Those wanting to avoid hell want religion and those in hell want God-

3-When God wants to do an impossible task, he takes an impossible person and crushes him-

4-Everyone knows they will die, but no one wants to believe it-

5-The problem with trying times is we quit trying-

Strange thought-If you sling mud, you generally lose ground-

12 He did miracles while their ancestors watched, in the fields of Zoan in Egypt.

13 He divided the Red Sea and led them through. He made the water stand up like a wall.

14 He led them with a cloud by day and by the light of a fire by night.

15 He split the rocks in the desert and gave them more than enough water, as if from the deep ocean.

16 He brought streams out of the rock and caused water to flow down like rivers.

A PRETTY FALL SCENE

Here are my thoughts for today

1-If we are going to be effective for God, we must have good self esteem-

2-You can know that God loves you, but unless you are willing to love him with obedience and submission you will never experience the fullness of his peace-

3-When we let the sun go down on our anger, we then fall out of love with the one we are angry with-

4-There's got to be a morning after, if I can hold on through the night, I have a chance to find the sunshine, if I keep looking for the light-

5-What love cannot solve, it will endure with sweetness-

STRANGE THOUGHT-Is anyone worrying that someone will discover that lettuce was fattening all along?

I'VE LEARNED-In the life of a child, love is spelled "time"-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW

1-Are the 3 distinctions of the trinity seperate?

2-Jesus never said he and the Holy Spirit are one--are they?

3-Is it correct to say that Jesus lives in us? Isn't it the Holy Spirit that does so?

4-Do we ever stop being God's children?

5-Can you live a partially surrendered life to God?

1 My people, listen to my teaching; listen to what I say.

3 We have heard them and known them by what our ancestors have told us.

4 We will not keep them from our children; we will tell those who come later about the praises of the Lord. We will tell about his power and the miracles he has done.

5 The Lord made an agreement with Jacob and gave the teachings to Israel, which he commanded our ancestors to teach to their children.

6 Then their children would know them, even their children not yet born. And they would tell their children.

7 So they would all trust God and would not forget what he had done but would obey his commands.

8 They would not be like their ancestors who were stubborn and disobedient. Their hearts were not loyal to God, and they were not true to him.
