Jesus Heals a Sick Boy
14 When Jesus and his followers came back to the crowd, a man came to Jesus and bowed before him.15 The man said, "Lord, have mercy on my son. He has epilepsy[a] and is suffering very much, because he often falls into the fire or into the water.16 I brought him to your followers, but they could not cure him."
17 Jesus answered, "You people have no faith, and your lives are all wrong. How long must I put up with you? How long must I continue to be patient with you? Bring the boy here." 18 Jesus commanded the demon inside the boy. Then the demon came out, and the boy was healed from that time on.
19 The followers came to Jesus when he was alone and asked, "Why couldn't we force the demon out?"
20 Jesus answered, "Because your faith is too small. I tell you the truth, if your faith is as big as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. All things will be possible for you.21 That kind of spirit comes out only if you use prayer and fasting.]

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying manFather, any words we speak or analogies we use cannot adequately describe your infinite mighty power. It miraculously reaches beyond the heavens, is visible throughout all the earth, and is resident within our own hearts. Even as the waves of the ocean are powerful and wash up on shore may You fill our lives to overflowing so that Your mighty presence is visible in our lives and spills out to those around us. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray, Amen.

They could never pay enough to buy back their souls. 27 The Son of Man will come again with his Father's glory and with his angels. 21 From that time on Jesus began telling his followers that he must go to Jerusalem, where the Jewish elders, the leading priests, and the teachers of the law would make him suffer many things. He told them he must be killed and then be raised from the dead on the third day.
22 Peter took Jesus aside and told him not to talk like that. He said, "God save you from those things, Lord! Those things will never happen to you!"
23 Then Jesus said to Peter, "Go away from me, Satan![a]You are not helping me! You don't care about the things of God, but only about the things people think are important."

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying manFather, in this depraved generation, darkness is sweeping across the land. At one time morality and virtuous behavior was applauded, but we now live in a time where good is called evil and evil is called good. Those who uphold Biblical truths are seen as archaic, old-fashioned, unenlightened. May we not be confused by where the line crosses Your perfect will for our lives. We know in our hearts that teachings or lifestyles that defy Your holy Word is evil, not good. Enable us to “speak Your Word with great boldness” like Peter on the Day of Pentecost. May we not be intimidated or allow ourselves to be bullied into a position that contradicts that which is revealed in Your Holy Word. We rely on the power of Your Holy Spirit to live out our lives in a way that honors You. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

15 Then Jesus asked them, "And who do you say I am?"
16 Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."
17 Jesus answered, "You are blessed, Simon son of Jonah, because no person taught you that. My Father in heaven showed you who I am. 18 So I tell you, you are Peter.[a] On this rock I will build my church, and the power of death will not be able to defeat it. 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; the things you don't allow on earth will be the things that God does not allow, and the things you allow on earth will be the things that God allows." 20 Then Jesus warned his followers not to tell anyone he was the Christ.

Guard Against Wrong Teachings
5 Jesus' followers went across the lake, but they had forgotten to bring bread. 6 Jesus said to them, "Be careful! Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and the Sadducees."
7 His followers discussed the meaning of this, saying, "He said this because we forgot to bring bread."
8 Knowing what they were talking about, Jesus asked them, "Why are you talking about not having bread? Your faith is small. 9 Do you still not understand? Remember the five loaves of bread that fed the five thousand? And remember that you filled many baskets with the leftovers?10 Or the seven loaves of bread that fed the four thousand and the many baskets you filled then also?11 I was not talking to you about bread. Why don't you understand that? I am telling you to beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and the Sadducees." 12 Then the followers understood that Jesus was not telling them to beware of the yeast used in bread but to beware of the teaching of the Pharisees and the Sadducees.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying manFather, it is through devout godly people that You repair, restore and rebuild lives as they raise up the unchanging, ever relevant ancient words of Scripture. It takes faithful watchmen who serve with great vigilance, untiring in their ancient message of salvation to a world that is continuously desecrating that which was once sacred. Father, help us to be watchmen for our families, co-workers, and friends as we carefully measure the present principles of this world by the eternal principles established in Scripture. Grant us courage to speak out when the foundations are being shaken just as the watchmen were not silent night or day. We do not stand in the gap alone but You, our Father, are with us and we stand in Your strength!  Amen.

MAY YOU ALWAYS HAVE LOVE TO SHARE, HEALTH TO SPARE AND FRIENDS THAT CARE!

1 The Pharisees and Sadducees came to Jesus, wanting to trick him. So they asked him to show them a miracle from God.
2 Jesus answered,[a] "At sunset you say we will have good weather, because the sky is red. 3 And in the morning you say that it will be a rainy day, because the sky is dark and red. You see these signs in the sky and know what they mean. In the same way, you see the things that I am doing now, but you don't know their meaning. 4 Evil and sinful people ask for a miracle as a sign, but they will not be given any sign, except the sign of Jonah."[b] Then Jesus left them and went away.

They answered, "Seven, and a few small fish."
35 Jesus told the people to sit on the ground.36 He took the seven loaves of bread and the fish and gave thanks to God. Then he divided the food and gave it to his followers, and they gave it to the people.37 All the people ate and were satisfied. Then his followers filled seven baskets with the leftover pieces of food.38 There were about four thousand men there who ate, besides women and children.39 After sending the people home, Jesus got into the boat and went to the area of Magadan.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying manFather, we do not want to be overcome by evil but we want to overcome evil with good and the way that we can do this is to absorb, maintain, and uphold the Scriptural understanding of good and evil. The contrasts of light vs. Darkness, good vs. Evil, the spiritual nature vs. The sinful nature are abundant in Scripture. May the guiding light by which we live our lives in these evil days be the light of Your Holy Word. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

28 Then Jesus answered, "Woman, you have great faith! I will do what you asked." And at that moment the woman's daughter was healed.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying manFather, we recognize from Scripture that You long to be gracious to Your children, to show them compassion and give them direction.  You bless those who wait upon You. Though you give us the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, you also give us teachers, prophets, and believing friends who affirm or challenge us as we seek Your face and Your will for our lives.  As we hold up the lamp of Your Word to lighten the path before us, how good it is to hear Your voice behind us saying, “This is the way, walk in it.”  You’ve promised that You will never leave us or forsake us.  Darkness will not overtake us, for You are the Light of the World, and in You there is no darkness at all. Thank You for Your reassuring presence that You walk with us step by step on this day of our journey.  We’re en route now but we’re assured that our final destination will have an eternal glorious address where our dwelling will be with You in heaven forevermore. Amen.

I WISH YOU LOVE IN YOUR HEART.....PEACE IN YOUR SOUL.....AND JOY IN YOUR LIFE.....ALWAYS!!!

Saturday June 2, 2012 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Whenever you have the opportunity to be with someone in great need or grief, even if what they are going through is the result of their own choices or failure, putting them down or reminding them of their failures never helps-
2-God is the potter, I am the clay-he is Lord and I am his disciple-he is the shepherd, I am the sheep- he is the master, I am the servant-
3-A right concept of God is basic not only to correct theology but also to practical Christian living as well-
4-The essence of idolatry is having thoughts about God that are unworthy of him-
5-When things turn from bad to worse, sound theology helps us remain strong and stable-

STRANGE THOUGHT-Why is it the people who are late are usually much jollier than those who have to wait for them?

I'VE LEARNED-For fast acting relief, slow down-

DID YOU KNOW-All the dirt form the foundation to build the World Trade Center in New York City was dumped into the Hudson River to form the community now known as Battery City Park-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Did Jesus know the crucifixion experience would be over by Sunday morning?
2-Did Jesus know what would happen to him during the time from crucifixion to resurrection?
3-What is it like to be really in love with God?
4-What culprit is the prime suspect for being the home "love terminator"?
5-Is love all it takes to make a marriage work?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Who murdered Shallum and took his place on the throne of Israel?
Yesterday's answer-Zimri   1 Kings 16:8-10

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY   Matthew 15:12-20
12 Then his followers came to him and asked, "Do you know that the Pharisees are angry because of what you said?"
13 Jesus answered, "Every plant that my Father in heaven has not planted himself will be pulled up by the roots. 14Stay away from the Pharisees; they are blind leaders.[a]And if a blind person leads a blind person, both will fall into a ditch."
15 Peter said, "Explain the example to us."
16 Jesus said, "Do you still not understand? 17 Surely you know that all the food that enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then goes out of the body.18 But what people say with their mouths comes from the way they think; these are the things that make people unclean.19Out of the mind come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual sins, stealing, lying, and speaking evil of others.20 These things make people unclean; eating with unwashed hands does not make them unclean."

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying manFather, though we don’t know the day nor the hour, You have the blessed event of Christ’s return on Your heavenly calendar. Even as the Son of Man ascended into heaven He will come again, but this time we have the blessed hope of ascending with Him and joining with those of like precious faith. Thank You for loved ones and witnesses of the truth who have repeated this glorious life-transforming message to us over the years preparing our hearts for this major event. May this be the resounding message from our own lips as we anticipate the glorious moment when we will all be changed in the twinkling of an eye. Help us to be faithful and eager for the blessed hope of Your second coming where those of us on earth will take up eternal residency in heaven. In Your name, Jesus, we pray as we  watch for Your reappearing. Amen.

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW

3-When have we done enough?
4-Do we ever lose the capability of sinning?

BIBLE TRIVIA-What traitor murdered Elah, king of Israel, and then later, after a seven day reign, committed suicide?

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY    Matthew 15:10-11
10 After Jesus called the crowd to him, he said, "Listen and understand what I am saying. 11 It is not what people put into their mouths that makes them unclean. It is what comes out of their mouths that makes them unclean."

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying manFather, we see the greatest example of temporal suffering in the person of Jesus Christ. By giving His all to pay the full ransom for our sins He underwent inhumane persecution to the fullest extent of giving His life through death that we might live. What seemed a hopeless cause turned into a victory above all other victories when His resurrected body made it possible for us, as His followers, to join in His eternal glory. It’s just a little longer that we must wait before we enter through the pearly gates. May we be found faithful along the way! In Jesus’ name.  Amen.
