Thursday January 31, 2008 thought for the day



"I'VE GOT TO CHECK THIS GUY OUT!"
Here are my thoughts for today-
1-The only certain thing about this life is death and the judgement-
2-To admit a miracle is to admit God-
3-Jesus is the only way to God and the gospel is the truth about Jesus-
4-The christian life isn't just something you do or keep up, it is something God does in you-
5-Starting over again with God usually begins with a sense of need not a sense of God-

Strange thought-don't worry what people think, they don't do it very often-

I've learned-if a child is not getting attention and love at home, he will go somewhere else to find it-

5 things I want to know
1-Is tithing old testament (under law) or new testament (under grace)?
2-Does God ever say "Okay, let's see if you really meant it when you said I love you Lord"?
3-What are we willing to give to see our prayers answered?
4-Do we sometimes treat prayer as a "quick fix"?
5-Can we pray for God to deliver us from a problem that was of our own making?

“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap” (Luke 6:38).

"OH OH, I'M IN TROUBLE NOW"
Here are my thoughts for today-
1-Personal conflict can be an opportunity for personal growth-
2-Sin-breaking of God's law, missing the mark, rejecting God's will and purpose for your life-
3-You cannot remain neutral about Jesus-
4-Jesus was either who he said he was or he was a raving lunatic-
5-Parable-a story with a spiritual meaning in it-

Strange thought-it is easier to ask for forgiveness than to get permission-

I've learned-it takes a lot more creativity to find out what is right than what's wrong-

5 things I want to know
1-Have christians given up their responsibility to those in need to governmental agencies?
2-Do we see those in need as less fortunate rather than as brothers and sisters?
3-Why do we judge groups by their worst members?
4-Is it hard to show compassion?
5-What is meant by the phrase "praying through"?

Here are my thoughts for today-
1-You don't test courage by being cautious-
2-Success in life is easier if you keep a cool head and a warm heart rather than a hot head and cold feet-
3-There are two kinds of people-givers and takers-the takers may live better but the givers sleep better-
4-Don't be so consumed by what is wrong in your marriage that you forget about what is good-
5-Falling in love is easy, staying in love is hard-

Strange thought-experience is a wonderful thing, it enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again-

I've learned-if I don't know the answer it is best to say "I don't know"

5 things I want to know
1-Can God change my will?
2-Why do bad things happen to good people?
3-How do we know when we have become materialistic minded?
4-Does wealth make you less sensitive to those in need?
5-Is it Christian to become self sufficient?

Here are my thoughts for today-
1-Never confuse feeling guilty with being guilty-
2-Heaven will be a place of worship at its purest level-
3-The Christian life is a balance of living now with a hope for the future-
4-If God gives you a dream, he also gives you the strength to reach it-
5-Many a false step is made standing still-

Strange thought-don't confuse your career with your life!-

I've learned-what my father said is true-time does seem to go faster the older you get-

5 things I want to know-
1-Is heaven and paradise the same place?
2-Is the Holy Spirit received by laying on of hands?
3-If you really believed in a final judgement, how would it effect your way of living today?
4-Is the way we treat others the way we treat Jesus?
5-Do we have to put ourselves down in order to magnify Jesus?

Here are my thoughts for today-
1-With a praise in your soul you can endure anything-
2-Sinful behavior is just a reflection of what we are on the inside-
3-What we are on the inside comes out in our outward actions-
4-Good attitudes and behavior we have to be taught-
5-It is never easy to live with a bad conscience-

Strange thought-middle age is when broadness of the mind and the narrowness of the waist change places-

I've learned-my greatest fear is that in later years I'll look back at a long list of things "I never got around to"-

5 things I want to know-
1-What is the proof of receiving salvation?
2-How can you know for sure that your love for God is real?
3-Should we always pray "thy will be done"?
4-Should I claim a promise and then thank God it has already been done?
5-How is it possible for christians to become depressed?

1-Thanksgiving and humility go hand in hand-

5-The strength of your faith is only revealed in facing your problem-

Strange thought-if you look like your passport picture, you probably need the trip-

I've learned-deciding who you marry is the most life changing decision you will ever make-

5 things I want to know-
1-Will God tell you his plan for you before you stop doing your own?
2-If once we have been anointed for healing, should we continue to pray for healing?
3-Do we really believe that God loves our neighbor?
4-Do our friends know how to come to God?
5-Do we really believe "Jesus never fails"?

Scripture for today-In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ (1 Peter 1:3)

I've learned-if you don't have a will or do some estate planning, the government and lawyers
become your heirs-

1-How can a Christian talk about the lost without tears in their eyes?
2-What does it take to turn an indifferent Christian into one who cares?
3-What is the ultimate test of faith-
4-Is prayer your speaking to God or God communicating to you?
5-Do you have to experience Christianity before you can understand it?

1-Why are we impatient with long prayers?
2-Do people want a savior but not a Lord?

4-Are most Christians slow to forgive the wrongs of others?

1-it is wrong to think that serving others is having to do something we don't enjoy-
2-one person can't do everything and is not supposed to do everything-
3-you will receive a blessing from serving others but you may not always see results-
4-saying and being thankful are not the same-
5-in the sowing and reaping principle, your harvest doesn't always come in the form you expect-

Strange thought-it is better to have loved a short woman than never to have loved a tall-

I've learned-ultimately takers lose and givers win!

1-When does anger become resentment?
2-In your body, where is your soul?
3-Why do Christians need to be motivated about their salvation?
4-Why do Christians often have to be begged to participate in a church program?
5-Can a group of people know God's will or is it just for individuals?

1-Would we know an angel if we say one?

4-Being kidnapped and held for ransom never worries the poor-
5-It is better to eat soup with someone you love than steak with someone you hate-

Strange thought-a short fortune teller who escaped from prison--a small medium at large--

I've learned-as long as I have my health, older is better than younger-

5 things I want to know-
1-Can we pray for church growth and then not invite others-?
2-Can we pray for our financial needs to be met if we don't tithe?
3-Can we pray for forgiveness if we aren't forgiving?
4-Can we ask God to supply our needs if we don't share what we do have?
5-Can we ask God to save our friends if we aren't willing to tell them the good news of salvation?

5-Why do many Christians seem to be so cliquish?

I've learned-I have never regretted being too generous but often regretted not being generous enough-

1-Is it possible to be totally honest?
2-Should we follow our conscience?
3-Does a Christian home a happy marriage make?
4-What does it take to be a true disciple?
5-Can we be so heavenly minded that we are no earthly good-

1-What's right isn't always popular, what's popular isn't always right-
2-If you want to enjoy the rainbow, you must put up with the rain-
3-Your past doesn't have to equal your future-
4-The reward of a thing well done is having done it-
5-Patience-hoping without being anxious-

Strange thought-you are stuck with your debt if you cannot budge it-

I've learned-it is hard for anyone to keep a secret-

1-How does the Holy Spirit live in us/through us?
2-Do Christians really believe that Jesus died for everyone and has forgiveness for all?
3-Is real love a feeling, a decision or an action?
4-Why don't Christians spend more time weeping over the lost-or do we even do it at all?

I've learned-the wealthy person is one who is content with what he has-

1-Why can't we forgive others as we want to be forgiven?
2-What does it mean to "bless"?
3-How do we bless God?
4-Does God bless both the saved and unsaved?
5-Have most of us substituted church attendance for worship?

Friday January 4, 2008 thought for the day


REMEMBER NOW, WE HAVE TO SHARE THIS MEAL!!
Here are my thoughts for today-
1-Courage is often the price that life expects for giving peace-
2-Life without liberty is like a body without spirit-
3-Do not go where the path leads but go where there is no path and leave a trail-
4-We make a living by what we get and a life by what we give-
5-Desire gets you going, motivation keeps you going-

Strange thought-the man who fell into an upholstery machine is now fully recovered-

I've learned-if you want to go to parties, you have to give some parties-

5 things I want to know-
1-Do real Christians sin-
2-Who/what is a friend-
3-Why do we hurt the ones we love-
4-Why do most people wear a mask most of the time-
5-Do we really believe in the Lordship of Christ-

LOOKS LIKE WHEN THE DOG IS AWAY THE CAT WILL SLEEP!!!!-here are my thoughts for today-
1-Nothing can be changed until it is faced-
2-Character is made in the small moments and displayed in the great ones-
3-Your reputation is not built on what you are going to do-
4-Even if you limp you are still walking-
5-Whatever you are, be a good one-

Strange thought-when a clock is hungry, it goes back four seconds-

I've learned-any place I haven't visited, offers the same potential for adventure and excitement as any other-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW-
1-What is a disciplined life?
2-Are Christians basically pacifists?
3-Could/should the church be more active in the community?
4-Why is the church not more effective in reaching the community?
5-Have Christians lost their saltiness?

BEWARE OF THE DOG!!!!!!!
Here are my thoughts for today-
1-Experience is what you call your mistakes-
2-Success-caring for someone else-
3-You may be disappointed if you fail but you can't succeed if you don't-
4-Every flower must grow through dirt-
5-Motivation is always more important than mere talent-

STRANGE THOUGHT-show me a piano falling down a mine shaft and I'll show you a-flat miner-

I'VE LEARNED-if you stay focused on yourself, you are guaranteed to be miserable-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW-
1-What is love?
2-Can you be a christian and not be loving and giving?
3-Do we worship by attending church?
4-Do we really know how to pray?
5-Why are our prayers not more effective-

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY-
1-God doesn't want you to obey him out of fear or respect-
2-Don't let your miracles become monuments-
3-Sadly, too often we take for granted what God has done for us-
4-Our faith activates the power of God-
5-Tomorrow is as uncertain as today was yesterday-

Strange thought-with her marriage she got a new name and a dress-

I've learned-leisure isn't enjoyed unless it has been earned-
