Monday August 31, 2009 thought for the day

OFF TO THE RACES
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-After Jesus sacrifice, there was no more need for animal sacrifices-
2-Jesus work of salvation is complete but the progressive work of salvation is ongoing-
3-Jesus offers not a single drink of water but a perpetual artesian well-
4-Marriage is both a done deal and a daily development, something you did and something you do-
5-The blood of Jesus does not cover our sins, conceal our sins, postpone our sins or diminish our sins, it removes our sins for good-
STRANGE THOUGHT-Where do words go when they are spoken or a song go when it is sung?
I'VE LEARNED-Life isn't fair but it is still good-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Does God ever get tired of us complaining?
2-Is it in the tough times of life that we get to know God the best?
3-How was Moses able to approach and talk to Pharaoh?
4-Why did God go through all the plagues to soften Pharaoh's heart--why not directly to the last one since God knew which one Pharaoh would respond to?
5-Why did Pharaoh tolerate Moses returning time after time?
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY PSALM 63
1 God, you are my God. I search for you. I thirst for you like someone in a dry, empty land where there is no water.
2 I have seen you in the Temple and have seen your strength and glory.
3 Because your love is better than life, I will praise you.
4 I will praise you as long as I live. I will lift up my hands in prayer to your name.
5 I will be content as if I had eaten the best foods. My lips will sing, and my mouth will praise you.
6 I remember you while I'm lying in bed; I think about you through the night.
7 You are my help. Because of your protection, I sing.
8 I stay close to you; you support me with your right hand.
9 Some people are trying to kill me, but they will go down to the grave.
10 They will be killed with swords and eaten by wild dogs.
11 But the king will rejoice in his God. All who make promises in his name will praise him, but the mouths of liars will be shut.
I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING-JASPER

Sunday August 30, 2009 thought for the day

MAY I HELP YOU SIR?
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY-
1-Jesus bore our sins so we could wear his righteousness-
2-There is one God and one mediator between God and man-Jesus-
3-Because Jesus understands we can come to him-
4-Don't let your conscience be your guide, let the cross be your guide-
5-Though the work of Jesus is finished for the sinner, it is not yet finished in the sinner-
STRANGE THOUGHT-Some people make you feel at home, while others make you wish you were-
I'VE LEARNED-The cross of Christianity was an instrument of execution-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-If it is a good thing to "live in the light" why do so many choose to live in the darkness-
2-How can we "live in the light as he is in the light"?
3-What does it mean that "unless you become as little children you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven"?
4-What is reality?
5-Is what you do for others more important than what you do for yourself?
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY PSALMS 62
1 I find rest in God; only he can save me.
2 He is my rock and my salvation. He is my defender; I will not be defeated.
3 How long will you attack someone? Will all of you kill that person? Who is like a leaning wall, like a fence ready to fall?
4 They are planning to make that person fall. They enjoy telling lies. With their mouths they bless, but in their hearts they curse.
5 I find rest in God; only he gives me hope.
6 He is my rock and my salvation. He is my defender; I will not be defeated.
7 My honor and salvation come from God. He is my mighty rock and my protection.
8 People, trust God all the time. Tell him all your problems, because God is our protection.
9 The least of people are only a breath, and even the greatest are just a lie.
10 Do not trust in force. Stealing is of no use. Even if you gain more riches, don't put your trust in them.
11 God has said this, and I have heard it over and over: God is strong.
12 The Lord is loving. You reward people for what they have done.
I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING-JASPER

Saturday August 29, 2009 thought for the day

FUNNY
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-The sheep was lost innocently, the coin was lost irresponsibly but the prodigal left intentionally-
2-Jesus loved the other hanging thief enough to let him mock him-
3-Man needs to hate his sin instead of loving it and to love God instead of hating him-
4-Pride is what goes before a fall and shame is what keeps you from getting up-
5-Every aspect of the crucifixion was intended not only to hurt Jesus but also to shame him-
STRANGE THOUGHT-A short fortune teller escaped from prison to become a small medium at large-
I'VE LEARNED-Our guilty conscience becomes a curtain that separates us from God-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-When you tell the truth must you tell the whole truth?
2-Does God only love a "cheerful" giver?
3-Is it ever too late to be what you might have been?
4-Do you only fear what you don't understand?
5-What is the difference in believe, faith and trust?
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY PSALM 61
1 God, hear my cry; listen to my prayer.
2 I call to you from the ends of the earth when I am afraid. Carry me away to a high mountain.
3 You have been my protection, like a strong tower against my enemies.
4 Let me live in your Holy Tent forever. Let me find safety in the shelter of your wings.
5 God, you have heard my promises. You have given me what belongs to those who fear you.
6 Give the king a long life; let him live many years.
7 Let him rule in the presence of God forever. Protect him with your love and truth.
8 Then I will praise your name forever, and every day I will keep my promises.
I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING-JASPER

Friday August 28, 2009 thought for the day

I love spaghetti!
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Don't be so proud of what you have that you miss what you need-
2-Nothing seems to turn our eyes toward heaven like a frail body-
3-God allows us to make our own choices-
4-God gives us eternal choices and they have eternal consequences-
5-We have no greater privilege than choice-
STRANGE THOUGHT-A chicken crossing the road is poultry in motion-
I'VE LEARNED-Sometimes you must pay for things you get for nothing-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-How do you rejoice in tribulation?
2-What does "having good fruit" mean?
3-How do you learn to "be content no matter what state I am"?
4-How are "the steps of a good man ordered by the Lord"?
5-What was the significance of the gifts given to baby Jesus by the wise men?
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY PSALMS 60
1 God, you have rejected us and scattered us. You have been angry, but please come back to us.
2 You have made the earth shake and crack. Heal its breaks because it is shaking.
3 You have given your people trouble. You made us unable to walk straight, like people drunk with wine.
4 You have raised a banner to gather those who fear you. Now they can stand up against the enemy.
5 Answer us and save us by your power so the people you love will be rescued.
6 God has said from his Temple, "When I win, I will divide Shechem and measure off the Valley of Succoth.
7 Gilead and Manasseh are mine. Ephraim is like my helmet. Judah holds my royal scepter.
8 Moab is like my washbowl. I throw my sandal at Edom. I shout at Philistia."
9 Who will bring me to the strong, walled city? Who will lead me to Edom?
10 God, surely you have rejected us; you do not go out with our armies.
11 Help us fight the enemy. Human help is useless,
12 but we can win with God's help. He will defeat our enemies.
I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING-JASPER

Thursday August 27, 2009 thought for the day

FRIENDS
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-There is no moment when God was not God, he has never not been-
2-Never did Jesus use his supernatural powers for his personal comfort-
3-When God entered time and became a man, he who was boundless became bound-
4-In scripture, thorns symbolize the consequences of sin-
5-Brambles and thorns on the earth are the product of sin in the heart-
STRANGE THOUGHT-A rubber band pistol was confiscated from an algebra class as a weapon of math destruction-
I'VE LEARNED-Pride and shame are brother and sister-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-How do you bless your enemies?
2-Is tithing a sowing of seed?
3-Does God bless the quantity or quality of the seed you sow?
4-Can we make someone happy, can someone make us happy?
5-How do you "let your light shine"?
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY PSALMS 59:9-17
9 God, my strength, I am looking to you, because God is my defender.
10 My God loves me, and he goes in front of me. He will help me defeat my enemies.
11 Lord, our protector, do not kill them, or my people will forget. With your power scatter them and defeat them.
12 They sin by what they say; they sin with their words. They curse and tell lies, so let their pride trap them.
13 Destroy them in your anger; destroy them completely! Then they will know that God rules over Israel and to the ends of the earth.
14 They come back at night. Like dogs they growl and roam around the city.
15 They wander about looking for food, and they howl if they do not find enough.
16 But I will sing about your strength. In the morning I will sing about your love. You are my defender, my place of safety in times of trouble.
17 God, my strength, I will sing praises to you. God, my defender , you are the God who loves me.
I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING-JASPER

Wednesday August 26, 2009 thought for the day

WHAT A BARGAIN!
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-God honors the choice of both the saved and unsaved-
2-While on the cross, Jesus became our sin-
3-If the Bible is called the good book, it's not because all of the people in it are good-
4-How we treat others is how we treat Jesus-
5-The standard for sinlessness is not found in humanity but in God himself-
STRANGE THOUGHT-If you chase your tail you only end up back where you started-
I'VE LEARNED-Something can not just come from nothing-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-How do you have peace in the midst of a storm-
2-Why do we not hear preaching today about making restitution?
3-Why are so many prayers seemingly not answered?
4-How do you "work out your own salvation"?
5-Does love ever fail?
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY PSALMS 59:1-8
1 God, save me from my enemies. Protect me from those who come against me.
2 Save me from those who do evil and from murderers.
3 Look, men are waiting to ambush me. Cruel men attack me, but I have not sinned or done wrong, Lord.
4 I have done nothing wrong, but they are ready to attack me. Wake up to help me, and look.
5 You are the Lord God all powerful, the God of Israel. Arise and punish those people. Do not give those traitors any mercy.
6 They come back at night, like dogs they growl and roam around the city.
7 Notice what comes from their mouths. Insults come from their lips because they say, "Who"s listening?"
8 But, Lord you laugh at them; you make fun of all of them.
I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING-JASPER

Tuesday August 25, 2009 thought for the day

A BALANCED DIET IS CHOCOLATE IN BOTH HANDS
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-The suffering that Jesus endured on the cross is literally unimaginable-
2-You don't need to have all your questions answered to become a believer in and follower of Jesus-
3-A miracle is an event that is not producible by natural causes that are operative at the time and place the event occurs-
4-Faith is trust in or commitment to what you belive in-
5-People do not go to hell, unsaved sinners do-
STRANGE THOUGHT-You cannot take the wet out of water and still have water
I'VE LEARNED-Sometimes to be good is not to be kind
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-How do we know when the "desires of our heart" is pleasing to God?
2-Do we limit God by being shallow minded?
3-Why is it often so hard to receive a blessing?
4-If Christians are children of the king, why do we often view ourselves as lowly creatures?
5-When God closes a door, does he always open another one?
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY PSALMS 58
1 Do you rulers really say what is right. Do you judge people fairly?
2 No, in your heart you plan evil; you think up violent crimes in the land.
3 From birth, evil people turn away from God; they wander off and tell lies as soon as they are born.
4 They are like poisonous snakes, like deaf cobras that stop up their ears
5 so they cannot hear the music of the snake charmer no matter how well he plays.
6 God, break the teeth in their mouths! Tear out the fangs of those lions, Lord!
7 Let them disappear like water that flows away. Let them be cut short like a broken arrow.
8 Let them be like snails that melt as they move. Let them be like a child born dead who never saw the sun.
9 His anger will blow them away alive faster than burning thorns can heat a pot.
10 Good people will be glad when they see him get even. They will wash their feet in the blood of the wicked.
11 Then people will say, "There really are rewards for doIng what is right. There really is a God who judges the world."

Monday August 24, 2009 thought for the day

WHERE IS MY BICYCLE?
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Courage is impossible in a world with no risk or pain-
2-The point of our lives in this world isn't comfort but preparation for eternity-
3-Justice delayed is not justice denied-
4-God is delaying the end of history out of his great love for people-
5-God whispers to us in our pleasures but shouts to us in our pain-
STRANGE THOUGHT-Drawing on my fine command of language I said nothing-
I'VE LEARNED-We need to say no to the important so we can say yes to the vital-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Should we view ourselves as a priceless treasure or a cracked pot?
2-Is God's love toward us always constant?
3-Is life a self fulfilling prophecy?
4-Jesus said to two blind men "according to your faith so be it done unto you". Is this still true today and in all parts of our life?
5-What is faith based on?
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY PSALMS 57
1 Be merciful to me, God; be merciful to me because I come to you for protection. Let me hide under the shadow of your wings until the trouble has passed.
2 I cry out to God Most High, to the God who does everything for me.
3 He sends help from heaven and saves me. He punishes those who chase me. God sends me his love and truth.
4 Enemies, like lions, are all around me; I must lie down among them. Their teeth are like spears and arrows, their tongues as sharp as swords.
5 God is supreme over the skies; his majesty covers the earth.
6 They set a trap for me. I am very worried. They dug a pit in my path, but they fell into it themselves.
7 My heart is steady, God; my heart is steady. I will sing and praise you.
8 Wake up my soul. Wake up, harp and lyre. I will wake up the dawn.
9 Lord, I will praise you among the nations; I will sing songs of praise about you to all the nations.
10 Your great love reaches to the skies, your truth to the clouds.
11 God, you are supreme above the skies. Let your glory be over all the earth.

Sunday August 23, 2009 thought for the day

DO YOU HAVE THIS PROBLEM?
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-The source of evil is not God's power but man's freedom-
2-An all powerful God could not have created a world in which people had genuine freedom and yet there be no potentiality for sin-
3-Real love must involve a choice, but with the granting of that choice comes the possibility that people would instead choose to hate-
4-The worst tragedy in history brought about the most glorious event in history-
5-Character is formed through hardships, overcoming obstacles and enduring desperate difficulties-
STRANGE THOUGHT-If you aim at nothing, you are sure to hit it-
I'VE LEARNED-There is only so much sand in the hourglass-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-What does "taking up our cross " mean and how is it done?
2-What are "spiritual eyes"?
3-As God's children, should we think highly or lowly of ourselves?
4-Is having a good self image taught or caught?
5-How high are Christians to think of themselves?
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY PSALMS 56
1 God, be merciful to me because people are chasing me; the battle has pressed me all day long.
2 My enemies have chased me all day; there are many proud people fighting me.
3 When I am afraid I will trust you.
4 I praise God for his word. I trust God, so I am not afraid. What can human beings do to me?
5 All day long they twist my words; all their evil plans are against me.
6 They wait. They hide. They watch my steps, hoping to kill me.
7 God, do not let them escape; punish the foreign nations in your anger.
8 You have recorded my troubles. You have kept a list of my tears. Aren't they in your records?
9 On the day I call for help, my enemies will be defeated. I know that God is on my side.
10 I praise God for his word to me; I praise the Lord for his word.
11 I trust in God. I will not be afraid. What can people do to me?
12 God, I must keep my promises to you. I will give you my offerings to thank you,
13 because you have saved me from death. You have kept me from being defeated. So I will walk with God in light among the living.

Saturday August 22, 2009 thought for the day

TOUCHED BY GOD
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-The reality of suffering constitutes the single greatest challenge to the Christian faith-
2-Only in a world where faith is difficult can faith exist-
3-To those who don't believe I ask-If there is no God, where did we get the standard of goodness by which we judge evil as evil?
4-If death has no meaning, then life ultimately has no meaning-
5-God did not create evil, he created the possibility of evil and man actualized that potentiality-
STRANGE THOUGHT-When you stop to think, don't forget to start again-
I'VE LEARNED-Remarkable things often occur in unremarkable situations-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-How can we view Jesus who was also God as a servant?
2-Why is it hard for some Christians to admit there is unconfessed sin in their lives?
3-Can one be a Christian with unconfessed sin in their life?
4-Why do we want to hear a positive message that makes us feel good about ourselves than one about self denial or suffering for Jesus sake?
5-Do many Christians live out the gospel of Jesus through self denial and "taking up their cross" as Jesus demanded?
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY 55:12-23
12 It was not an enemy insulting me. I could stand that. It was not someone who hated me. I could hide from him.
13 But it is you, a person like me, my companion and good friend.
14 We had a good friendship and walked together to God's Temple.
15 Let death take away my enemies. Let them die while they are still young because evil lives with them.
16 But I will call to God for help, and the Lord will save me.
17 Morning, noon, and night I am troubled and upset, but he will listen to me.
18 Many are against me, but he keeps me safe in battle.
19 God who lives forever will hear me and punish them. But they will not change for they do not fear God.
20 The one who was my friend attacks his friends and breaks his promises.
21 His words are slippery like butter, but war is in his heart. His words are smoother than oil, but they cut like knives.
22 Give your worries to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will never let good people down.
23 But, God, you will bring down the wicked to the grave, murderers and liars will live only half a lifetime.. But I will trust in you.
I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING-JASPER

Friday August 21, 2009 thought for the day

MR CLEAN
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-We do not make requests of God because we are righteous but because of his great love and mercy-
2-God answers our prayers based on his goodness , not our worthiness-
3-Worship is a voluntary act of gratitude offered by the saved to the savior, by the healed to the healer, and the delivered to the deliverer-
4-God doesn't improve, he perfects. He doesn't enhance, he completes-
5-When God sees a Christian, he sees Jesus and the perfection paid for by him-
STRANGE THOUGHT-Have you ever seen a cemetery with a sign that says "sorry, we're full"?
I'VE LEARNED-Nothing restores perspective better than a trip to the emergency room-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Is it harder to share Jesus with a close friend or a complete stranger?
2-What does it mean to "follow Jesus"?
3-Is suffering for Jesus the same today as it was for his disciples?
4-The Jews wanted a messiah, but did they want as savior?
5-Does God expect his children to suffer rejection and persecution?
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY PSALMS 55:1-11
1 God, listen to my prayer and do not ignore my cry for help.
2 Pay attention to me and answer me. I am troubled and upset
3 by what the enemy says and how the wicked look at me. They bring troubles down on me, and in anger they attack me.
4 I am frightened inside; the terror of death has attacked me.
5 I am scared and shaking, and terror grips me.
6 I said , "I wish I had wings like a dove. Then I would fly away and rest.
7 I would wander far away and stay in the desert.
8 I would hurry to my place of escape, far away from the wind and storm."
9 Lord, destroy and confuse their words, because I see violence and fighting in the city.
10 Day and night they are all around its walls, and evil and trouble are everywhere inside.
11 Destruction is everywhere in the city; trouble and lying never leave its streets.
I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING-JASPER

Thursday August 20, 2009 thought for the day

THE NURSING HOME MASCOT
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY-
1-The safest place to stand in your storm is next to your heavenly father-
2-Faith is not an award given to the most learned, most disciplined or most religious-
3-Faith is a desperate dive out of a sinking boat of human effort and a prayer that God will be there to catch us-
4-The supreme force in our salvation is God's grace, not our works, talents, feelings or strength-
5-The most amazing response to God's gift of salvation is our reluctance to accept it-
STRANGE THOUGHT-No matter how far you push the envelope, it will still be stationery-
I'VE LEARNED-We often forget strengths and instead point out weakness-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-How are spiritually blinded eyes opened to the gospel?
2-What does "being conformed to his death" mean?
3-Must humility play a part in accepting salvation?
4-Are spiritual pride and self righteousness similar?
5-Is it true "no prophet is accepted in his own country"?
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY PSALMS 54
1 God, save me because of who you are, by your strength show that I am innocent.
2 Hear my prayer, God; listen to what I say.
3 Strangers turn against me, and cruel men want to kill me. They do not care about God.
4 See, God will help me; the Lord will support me.
5 Let my enemies be punished with their own evil. Destroy them because you are loyal to me.
6 I will sacrifice as a special gift to you. I will thank you, Lord, because you are good.
7 You have saved me from all my troubles, and I have seen my enemies defeated.
I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING-JASPER

Wednesday August 19, 2009 thought for the day-

ILLUSION
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Faith can often be the child of fear-
2-Great acts of faith are seldom born out of calm calculation-
3-At the beginning of every act of faith there is often a seed of fear-
4-Faith that begins with fear ends you up closer to the Lord-
5-Faith begins when you are in a valley and you see God on the mountain and you know you are too weak to make the climb-
STRANGE THOUGHT-Worse than raining cats and dogs is hailing taxi cabs-
I'VE LEARNED-When energy intended to be used outside is used inside, the result is an explosion-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Why did God send Jesus to such a lowly position instead of one with status and prestige?
2-Why is the Gospel of Jesus so repugnant to many religious people?
3-Do Christians tend to have spiritual pride?
4-Would seeing a great "miracle" happen turn people to Jesus for salvation?
5-Is it possible to see the "unseen" spiritual world?
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY PSALMS 53
1 Fools say to themselves, "There is no God." Fools are evil and do terrible things; none of them does anything good.
2 God looked down from heaven on all people to see if anyone was wise, if anyone was looking to God for help.
3 But all have turned away. Together, everyone has become evil; none of them does anything good. Not a single person.
4 Don't the wicked understand. They destroy my people as if they were eating bread. They do not ask God for help.
5 The wicked are filled with terror where there had been nothing to fear. God will scatter the bones of your enemies. You will defeat them, because God has rejected them.
6 I pray that victory will come to Israel from Mount Zion. May God bring them back. Then the people of Jacob will rejoice, and the people of Israel will be glad.
I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING-JASPER

Tuesday August 18, 2009 thought for the day

RETIREMENT
HERE ARE MY THOUHGTS FOR TODAY
1-We should love God more than we fear hell-
2-When no one is watching, live as though someone is-
3-Toot your own horn and your notes come out flat-
4-Never let the important fall victim to the trivial-
5-As the mother sees yesterday, a daughter sees tomorrow-
STRANGE THOUGHT-Even the woodpecker owes his success to the fact he uses his head-
I'VE LEARNED-When the called to fish don't fish, they fight-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Can miracles be imitated?
2-How do you judge a "miracle" to be true or not?
3-How do we know when a "miracle" is from God?
4-Are all good coincidences "miracles"?
5-Can we know Jesus as savior and not surrender to him as Lord?
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY PSALMS 52
1 Mighty warrior, why do you brag about the evil you do. God's love will continue forever.
2 You think up evil plans. Your tongue is like a sharp razor, making up lies.
3 You love wrong more than right and lies more than truth.
4 You love words that bite and tongues that lie.
5 But God will ruin you forever. He will grab you and throw you out of your tent; he will tear you away from the land of the living.
6 Those who do right will see this and fear God. They will laugh at you and say,
7 "Look what happened to the man who did not depend on God but depended on his money. He grew strong by his evil plans."
8 But I am like an olive tree growing in God's temple. I trust God's love forever and ever.
9 God, I thank you forever for what you have done. With those who worship you, I will trust you because you are good.
I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING-JASPER

A FREE CAR WASH
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Yesterday's challenges are lost in today's joy-
2-Jesus might come in a way we don't expect and we might miss the answers to our prayers-
3-If we do what is right God will do what is best-
4-Because we look for the bright light we miss the candle light, and because we listen for the shout we miss the whisper-
5-One failure doesn't make a person a failure, and one achievement doesn't make a person a success-
STRANGE THOUGHT-Don't take life too seriously, it is not permanent-
I'VE LEARNED-Solitude and no service equals selfishness-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Does God make everything perfect?
2-Is God responsible for all the deaths in earthly calamities?
3-Did Mary's family and friends know Joseph was not Jesus' father?
4-When did Mary and Joseph wed?
5-Why is there no mention in scripture of Mary and Joseph having a wedding?
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY 51:10-19
10 Create in me a pure heart, God, and make my spirit right again.
11 Do not send me away from you or take your Holy Spirit away from me.
12 Give me back the joy of your salvation. Keep me strong by giving me a willing spirit.
13 Then will I teach your ways to those who do wrong, and sinners will turn back to you.
14 God, save me from the guilt of murder, God of my salvation, and I will sing about your goodness.
15 Lord, let me speak so I may praise you.
16 Your are not pleased by sacrifices, or I would give them. You don't want burnt offerings.
17 The sacrifice God wants is a broken spirit. God, you will not reject a heart that is broken and sorry for sin.
18 Do whatever good you wish for Jerusalem. Rebuild the walls of Jerusalem.
19 Then you will be pleased with right sacrifices and whole burnt offers, and bulls will be offered on your altar.
I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING-JASPER

Sunday August 16, 2009 thought for the day

LOVE IS WHEN YOU DON'T WANT TO GO TO SLEEP BECAUSE REALITY IS BETTER THAN A DREAM!!
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Blessed are those who know what they are on earth to do and do it-
2-It is hard to see God through the feelings of pain-
3-When you can't find God, trust him anyway-
4-Christians can endure their journey because they know their destination-
5-God never said the journey would be easy, but he did say the arrival would be worth it-
STRANGE THOUGHT-Don't play stupid with me for I always win-
I'VE LEARNED-The lack of your love for God does not diminish God's love for you-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Why were the dead sea scrolls and other manuscripts hidden for thousands of years?
2-Why was the Bible compiled the way it was over hundreds of years instead of being given as were the 10 commandments?
3-Does obedience always bring understanding?
4-How do we reconcile Paul's statement "I have learned that in whatsoever state I am therewith to be content" with prosperity preachers saying God always wants you to have health, wealth and happiness?
5-If God spoke to you, would you know it was him?
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY PSALMS 51:1-9
1 God, be merciful to me because you are loving. Because you are always ready to be merciful, wipe out all my wrongs.
2 Wash away all my guilt and make me clean again.
3 I know about my wrongs, and I can't forget my sin.
4 You are the only one I have sinned against; I have done what you say is wrong. You are right when you speak and fair when you judge.
5 I was brought into this world in sin. In sin my mother gave birth to me.
6 You want me to be completely truthful, so teach me wisdom.
7 Take away my sin, and I will be clean. Wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
8 Make me hear sounds of joy and gladness; let the bones you crushed be happy again.
9 Turn your face from my sins and wipe out all my guilt.

Saturday August 15, 2009 thought for the day

FINALLY I AM ABLE TO BE BACK ON LINE WITH ALL MY E MAIL FRIENDS-HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY-
1-God sees our faults and failures but he also sees our value-
2-God's goodness comes from his nature not by our worthiness-
3-When all hell breaks loose, all heaven draws near-
4-Never interpret our numbness for God's absence-
5-When programs take priority over people, people lose-
STRANGE THOUGHT-Don't learn safety by accident-
I'VE LEARNED-God loves us simply because he has chosen to-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-How do we know we have given ourselves completely to God?
2-What is the most difficult area for people to surrender to God?
3-Does everyone surrender their lives to something or someone?
4-What is the greatest hindrance to receiving God's blessing?
5-Can you worship God without surrendering to Him?
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY PSALMS 50:16-23
16 But God says to the wicked, ?Why do you talk about my laws? Why do you mention my agreements?
17 You hate my teachings and turn your back on what I say.
18 When you see a thief, you join him. You take part in adultery.
19 You don't stop your mouth from speaking evil, and your tongue makes up lies.
20 You speak against your brother and lie about your mother's son.
21 have kept quiet while you did these things, so you thought I was just like you. But I scold you and accuse you to your face.
22 Think about this, you who forget God. Otherwise, I will tear you apart, and no one will save you.
23 Those people honor me who bring me offerings to show thanks. And I, God, will save those who do that."

Sunday August 9, 2009 thought for the day

HE IS ALWAYS NEAR
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Misconceptions about faith often open the door to doubts because they can create false expectations or misunderstandings about God-
2-Love is a fruit, the first fruit of the Spirit-
3-The same voice that stilled the storm on the sea of Galilee can still the storm in your life-
4-There are times when life's conductor stops the drums and only the flute is allowed to play-
5-God became a man in order to convince man to trust God-
STRANGE THOUGHT-Don't insult the alligator until you've crossed the river-
I'VE LEARNED-We have the power to change another's life by the words we speak-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Is God concerned with every detail of our lives?
2-Are all of our abilities spiritual abilities?
3-Do we "surrender" or "submit" ourselves to God?
4-How do we live our lives for God as a "living sacrifice"?
5-How do we give our lives completely to God?
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY PSALMS 50:7-15
7 God says, "My people, listen to me; Israel, I will testify against you. I am God, your God.
8 I do not scold you for your sacrifices. You always bring me your burnt offerings.
9 But I do not need bulls from your stalls or goats from your pens,
10 because every animal of he forest is already mine. The cattle on a thousand hills are mine.
11 I know every bird on the mountains, and every living thing in the fields is mine.
12 If I were hungry, I would not tell you, because the earth and everything in it are mine.
13 I don't eat the meat of bulls or drink the blood of goats.
14 Give an offering to show thanks to God. Give God Most High what you have promised.
15 Call to me in times of trouble. I will save you, and you will honor me."
