Friday June 17, 2011 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Today's peacock ends up in tomorrows feather duster-
2-Our greatest victories come through surrender-
3-It is okay if you have nothing to say, unless you insist on saying it-
4-A friend is one who when you have made a fool of yourself likes you anyway-
5-To forgive to let bygones be bygones just doesn't work-
STRANGE THOUGHT-There is only one exceptional child in the world, and every mother has one-
I'VE LEARNED-Laugh when you can, cry when you must-
DID YOU KNOW-Coffee is the second largest item of international commerce in the world-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-When God is ignored, why should he bless you?
2-How do we know for certain when God is speaking to us or directing us?
3-Does "thy kingdom come" of the Lord's prayer really mean "my kingdom go"?
4-The Lord's prayer starts "our father..". Does this indicate we are to pray this prayer as a group rather than as individuals?
5-How do "we walk in the spirit?"
BIBLE TRIVIA-What woman of Jericho was spared when Joshua's men took the city?
Yesterday's answer-the five daughters of Zelophehad Numbers 26-27
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY Colossians 4:7-18
News About the People with Paul
7 Tychicus is my dear brother in Christ and a faithful minister and servant with me in the Lord. He will tell you all the things that are happening to me. 8 This is why I am sending him: so you may know how we are and he may encourage you. 9 I send him with Onesimus, a faithful and dear brother in Christ, and one of your group. They will tell you all that has happened here.

10 Aristarchus, a prisoner with me, and Mark, the cousin of Barnabas, greet you. (I have already told you what to do about Mark. If he comes, welcome him.)11 Jesus, who is called Justus, also greets you. These are the only Jewish believers who work with me for the kingdom of God, and they have been a comfort to me.

12 Epaphras, a servant of Jesus Christ, from your group, also greets you. He always prays for you that you will grow to be spiritually mature and have everything God wants for you.13 I know he has worked hard for you and the people in Laodicea and in Hierapolis.14 Demas and our dear friend Luke, the doctor, greet you.

15 Greet the brothers and sisters in Laodicea. And greet Nympha and the church that meets in her house. 16 After this letter is read to you, be sure it is also read to the church in Laodicea. And you read the letter that I wrote to Laodicea.17 Tell Archippus, "Be sure to finish the work the Lord gave you."

18 I, Paul, greet you and write this with my own hand. Remember me in prison. Grace be with you.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

O Lord God of Israel and God of the nations, you are the only God in heaven above or the earth below. I walk before you with all my heart. I bless your name in the morning when I rise and in the evening when I sleep, and all the day when your creation fills my eye. Bless me to remember you this day; when I see and hear the thousand miracles of your creation, let me see them anew, recalling that you have made them, and no other; that I may live in your presence among the common miracles I take for granted. Through Christ I pray,

Amen.
GREATLY BLESSED, HIGHLY FAVORED, IMPERFECT BUT FORGIVEN CHILD OF GOD!!!
