Saturday February 17, 2018 thought for the day

THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-If we care more about what is happening on the playing field, than the mission field, sports has become an idol-
2-There is nothing wrong with power in itself but the fact is power often corrupts whether it is in politics, business or even churches and families-
3-Success is good if it is achieved in Godly ways.  If not, it is thinly disguised idolatry-
4-We all leave a legacy, the question is what kind-
5-Many wealthy people leave a large inheritance but a poor heritage-

STRANGE THOUGHT
There is a flower in the rain forests of central and south America that resembles a puckering mouth covered in lipstick-

I'VE LEARNED
To the extent that we have not yet learned to forgive others, it is more difficult to forgive ourselves-

DID YOU KNOW
To see at night as well as an owl, you would need eyeballs as big as grapefruits-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-How can you be continually in prayer-
2-With a forgiving spirit, is the christian to allow another to severely mistreat or abuse them on a continuing basis?
3-Why did Lot's wife turn back for one last look?
4-What was Jesus' lifestyle for the Sabbath?
5-Does God want Christians to give sacrificially, generously or extravagantly?

BIBLE TRIVIA
Who had a rod that God turned into a snake?
Answer for today       Moses    exodus 4:3

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY
Jeremiah 3:4    Now you are calling to me,  ‘My father, you have been my friend since I was young."

PRAYER FOR THE DAY

Father, help me to live like a true son and to imitate Jesus, who resisted sin throughout his life-

TODAY WILL NEVER COME AGAIN. BE A BESSING, BE A FRIEND, ENCOURAGE SOMEONE, TAKE TIME TO CARE. LET YOUR WORDS AND ACTIONS HEAL AND NOT WOUND-
