Wednesday March 26, 2014 thought for the day

2-When Jesus died on the cross, he fulfilled all the required sacrifices for sin, for all time-
3-Worship is first and foremost a heart attitude-
4-Jesus, the maker of the universe, the maker of time and breath was born in a family too humble to pay for a bed for a
  pregnant mom to be-
5-Death is not the final chapter in your story-

I'VE LEARNED-No one can sincerely help another without helping themselves also-

DID YOU KNOW-Children between the ages of two and seven color, on average, for twenty eight minutes every day-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Why did Jacob agree to sleep with Rachel's maid servant to have children?  Had he not remembered the troubles Abraham had by        doing the same thing?
2-Did Jacob actually see the face of God when he wrestled with an unknown man?
3-Did Esau return for his father's burial?
4-Why is there such a long listing of Esau's descendants given in scripture?
5-Could Joseph, son of Jacob, have had a feeling of superiority toward his brothers thereby antagonizing them?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Whom did God ask?-"Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?"

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY   Luke 12:35-38
35 “Be dressed, ready for service, and have your lamps shining.36 Be like servants who are waiting for their master to come home from a wedding party. When he comes and knocks, the servants immediately open the door for him. 37 They will be blessed when their master comes home, because he sees that they were watching for him. I tell you the truth, the master will dress himself to serve and tell the servants to sit at the table, and he will serve them. 38 Those servants will be blessed when he comes in and finds them still waiting, even if it is midnight or later.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Thankful manFather, we offer thanks to You that we do know and we have heard that the Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. Yet there are those who have never heard this message and there are still others who have exchanged the truth of God for the lie, choosing to worship and serve created things rather than the Creator which makes their thinking futile and their foolish hearts darkened. In ourselves we are nothing but as we walk in the light of Your inspired Holy Word we live in truth and walk in righteousness. So we give praise to You,the Creator, who is forever blessed. Amen.

Trust him, and he will take care of you.
6 Then your goodness will shine like the sun,
And your fairness like the noonday sun.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Thankful man
Father, I pray for a discerning spirit to help me recognize truth from falsehood. Help me to know when others are lying and help me also to recognize the lies I tell myself. You always speak the truth and You declare that which is right from that which is wrong.  When the world describes a lifestyle or belief system to be good when You declare it to be evil, help me to stand firm upon Your holy truths as I faithfully read them in the Scriptures. Give me bold conviction to stand firm for truth even when it seems as though no one stands with me. The “truths” as purported by this world shift like the changing winds but Your Truth stands for all eternity!  I stand firm as I tighten the belt of truth about me. And I protect my heart and mind with the shield of righteousness through Christ Jesus my Lord in whose name I pray. Amen.

I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING!

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Thankful manFather, we’re grateful for those throughout history who chose to be men and women of faith, whose hearts were fashioned in Your image, and who served Your purpose in their generation. We also want to serve Your purpose in our generation.  Help us to stay steadfast and strong as we run this race set before us. Thankfully, in this race, we’re not in competition to be the only prizewinner. Instead we take hold of the hands of those who run with us, those who’ve fallen and struggle to get up, and we invite others on the sidelines to join us in this great lifelong journey. As we cross the finish line we will receive the grand prize of life eternal with You. And it’s only possible because of Jesus’ shed blood on our behalf. We thank You for it. Amen.

GREATLY BLESSED, HIGHLY FAVORED, IMPERFECT BUT FORGIVEN CHILD OF GOD!

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Thankful manDaily prayer:Father, when we gave you our heart, we made the willful choice to no longer conform to the trends and philosophies of this world. May Your Holy Word be our reference point and Your Spirit be our Guide as we are exposed to countless philosophies based on human understanding and the basic principles of this world rather than Your eternal foundational truths. Sharpen our discernment and grant us courage so that we readily know truth from error and are fearless in saying so. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Write them on your heart as if on a tablet.
Then you will be respected
And will please both God and people.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Thankful manFather, Romans 1:21 indicates that those who knew You neither glorified nor gave thanks to You which led to their futile and foolish thinking.  It eventually caused the light of Your Word to be veiled and ineffective in their lives as darkness crept in and covered the radiant light of Your truth.  They sought honor for themselves and lived for self-glory.  Anything good in us is but a reflection of the Spirit of Christ who resides within, so we will glory only in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ though mocked and ridiculed by the world.  We are unashamedly children of God whose depth of wisdom comes not from the understanding of the world but the understanding of Your Word. May its truth always be our source of light in the darkened age in which we live.  In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

I find comfort in Your merciful provisions.  In the day of trouble You will keep me safe.  You will hide me in the shelter of Your tabernacle and set me high upon a rock.  Then I will hold my head high, above my enemies who surround me.  Through it all I am confident of this:  I will see the goodness of the Lord.  Help me to wait for You, Lord, to be strong and take heart, as I wait for You. I will see Your mighty hand of provision here on this side or I will view You in all Your majesty on the other side where You reign supreme. Amen.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Thankful man Father, as we interact with others today we want to release the aroma of Christ as the Holy Spirit works in and through us. It is our prayer that others will take in the spiritual fragrance of Christ, as His sweet presence is released through our endeavors. But help us to also accept the unpleasant truth that for those who are perishing we are the smell of death. We pray that they would be wooed by the Holy Spirit and train their senses to breathe in the aroma of life by seeking out truth as defined and modelled in Scripture, namely in the person of Jesus Christ our wonderful Savior. It’s in His name that we pray. Amen.

MAY YOU ALWAYS HAVE LOVE TO SHARE, HEALTH TO SPARE AND FRIENDS THAT CARE!

28 “Then you will call to me,
    But I will not answer.
You will look for me,
But you will not find me.
29 It is because you rejected knowledge
And did not choose to respect the Lord.
30 You did not accept my advice,
    And you rejected my correction.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Thankful man Father, help us to remain faithful in planting Your seed of salvation to those who have not yet bowed their knee, to those who have not yet confessed with their tongue that Jesus Christ is Lord. Whenever we open our mouths, may words be given to us so that we will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel to those who have not yet heard.  In Jesus name we pray.  Amen.

Monday March 10, 2014 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-A life of faithfulness begins with the first step of obedience-
2-God not only wants our complete loyalty, he also deserves it-
3-God's love leaves no room for hatred of anyone-
4-The basis of the Christian life is a love relationship with God-
5-Most of the great men God used had major character flaws-

STRANGE THOUGHT-English is a crazy language-"How can a slim chance and a fat chance be the same?"

I'VE LEARNED-We always have the ability to choose two things-our attitude and our behavior-

DID YOU KNOW-Each day fishermen kill more than a hundred whales-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-God appeared to Abraham in the form of a human.  Does he do that today?
2-Would Sarah's pregnancy with Isaac be considered super natural or miraculous?
3-Wouldn't it have been normal for Sarah to question God's birth announcement?
4-Since people lived so much longer in early Bible history, did the husband and wife regularly have children beyond what is now considered child bearing years?
5-Is anything too difficult for God?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Who asked God the question-"Why is it that thou hast sent me?"
Answer for today   Moses  Exodus 5:22

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY   Proverbs 1:8-9
My child, listen to your father’s teaching
And do not forget your mother’s advice.
Their teaching will be like flowers in your hair
Or a necklace around your neck.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Thankful manFather, all the goals and strategies that I set for my life culminate in the blessing of knowing that as I press on I will eventually hear You say to me, “Well done, good and faithful servant. You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary….I will give the right to eat of the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.” You grant the eternal prize for remaining steadfast and faithful in my walk on earth. Others in this world may earn titles and win prizes for worthy earthly pursuits, but the greatest prize that I will ever obtain is my entrance into heaven where I will see you face to face. And amazingly it was not because I earned it but because of Your merciful pardon of my sin. May my outlook be bright today as I fix my heart not on what is seen but on that which is unseen. I run toward the finishing line which will only be visible as I cross over to heaven.  I thank You for Jesus who made it possible and it is in His name that I pray. Amen.

GREATLY BLESSED, HIGHLY FAVORED, IMPERFECT BUT FORGIVEN CHILD OF GOD!
