Monday June 29, 2009 thought for the day

FREEDOM
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-In the winter of your struggle, keep believing there will be a spring-
2-On the Good Friday of your darkness, remember that Sunday is coming-
3-A broken and contrite heart is not the end but the beginning-
4-The most demanding test of all is to survive prosperity-
5-No beast is more savage than man possessed with power-
STRANGE THOUGHT-Is there an ending to outer space?
I'VE LEARNED-Externals are not what should count-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Does "ask and you will receive" always get you what is asked for?
2-How does the healing power of faith work?
3-Can prayer and faith postpone our time to die?
4-How do you believe that something will happen?
5-How is the body the temple of the Holy Spirit?
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY PSALMS 31:14-24
14 Lord, I trust you. I have said, "You are my God."
15 My life is in your hands. Save me from my enemies and from those who are chasing me.
16 Show your kindness to me, your servant. Save me because of your love.
17 Lord, I called to you, so do not let me be disgraced. Let the wicked be disgraced and lie silent in the grave.
18 With pride and hatred they speak against those who do right. So silence their lying lips.
19 How great is your goodness that you have stored up for those who fear you, that you have given to those who trust you.. You do this for all to see.
20 You protect them by your presence from what people plan against them. You shelter them from evil words.
21 Praise the Lord. His love to me was wonderful when my city was attacked.
22 In my distress, I said, "God cannot see me!" but you heard my prayer when I cried out to you for help.
23 Love the Lord, all you who belong to him. The Lord protects those who truly believe, but he punishes the proud as much as they have sinned.
24 All you who put your hope in the Lord be strong and brave.
I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING-JASPER

FREEDOM
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Youth does not preclude usefulness-
2-With authority comes the need for accountability-
3-With popularity comes the need for humility-
4-With prosperity comes the need for integrity-
5-Immediate correction begins with honest admission-
STRANGE THOUGHT-Which way does a compass point in space?
I'VE LEARNED-We chose what holds us in bondage-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Are formal written prayers of any value?
2-Should we write out our prayers and then read them?
3-What are the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven?
4-Is prayer a means of getting what you want?
5-How does God feel about our selfish prayers?
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY PSALMS 32
1 Happy is the person whose sins are forgiven, whose wrongs are pardoned.
2 Happy is the person whom the Lord does not consider guilty and in whom there is nothing false.
3 When I kept things to myself, I felt weak deep inside me. I moaned all day long.
4 Day and night you punished me. My strength was gone as in the summer heat.
5 Then I confessed my sins to you and didn't hide my guilt. I said, "I will confess my sins to the Lord," and you forgave my guilt.
6 For this reason, all who obey you should pray to you while they still can. When troubles rise like a flood, they will not reach them.
7 You are my hiding place. You protect me from my troubles and fill me with songs of salvation.
8 The Lord says, "I will make you wise and show you where to go. I will guide you and watch over you.
9 So don't be like a horse or donkey, that doesn't understand. They must be led with bits and reins, or they will not come near you."
10 Wicked people have many troubles, but the Lord's love surrounds those who trust him.
11 Good people, rejoice and be happy in the Lord. Sing all you whose hearts are right.
I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING-JASPER

Sunday June 28, 2009 thought for the day

FREEDOM
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Disillusionment is a dangerous slope, it is first with people and then with God-
2-Disillusionment comes from putting your complete hope and trust in someone-
3-What you see yourself as is what you will be-
4-Why God allows evil to exist is a mystery-
5-Grey hair is no sign of maturity nor is youth a sign of immaturity-
STRANGE THOUGHT-Opportunity may knock only once, but temptation leans on the doorbell-
I'VE LEARNED-We are to be grateful not proud-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-What response should we have to someone who says "The Lord told me to----"?
2-Does sincerity count for anything in prayer?
3-What must you do to get your prayers answered?
4-Do answered prayers depend on what we do?
5-Does God really answer all our prayers?
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY PSALMS 31:1-13
1 Lord, I trust in you; let me never be disgraced. Save me because you do what is right.
2 Listen to me and save me quickly. Be my rock of protection, a strong city to save me.
3 You are my rock and my protection. For the good of your name, lead me and guide me.
4 Set me free from the trap they set for me, because you are my protection.
5 I give you my life. Save me, Lord, God of truth.
6 I hate those who worship false gods. I trust only in the Lord.
7 I will be glad and rejoice in your love, because you saw my suffering; you know my troubles.
8 You have not handed me over to my enemies but have set me in a safe place.
9 Lord, have mercy, because I am in misery. My eyes are weak from so much crying, and my whole being is tired from grief.
10 My life is ending in sadness, and my years are spent in crying. My troubles are using up my strength, and my bones are getting weaker.
11 Because of all my troubles, my enemies hate me, and even my neighbors look down on me.
12 I am like a piece of a broken pot. I am forgotten as if I were dead.
13 I have heard many insults. Terror is all around me. They make plans against me and want to kill me.

2-When resisting temptation you must not be confused by the immediate results-
3-One thing about having the right attitude is that with it every day has some sunshine-
4-A positive attitude gets you beyond hurdles into opportunities-
5-God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our conscience but shouts in our pain-
STRANGE THOUGHT-There are three kinds of people--the ones who learn by reading, the ones who learn by observation, and the ones who have to touch the fire themselves to learn if it is really hot-

2 Lord, my God, I prayed to you, and you healed me.
3-You lifted me out of the grave; you spared me from going down to the place of the dead.
4 Sing praises to the Lord, you who belong to him; praise his holy name.
5 His anger lasts only a moment, but his kindness lasts for a lifetime. Crying may last for a night, but joy comes in the morning.
6 When I felt safe, I said, "I will never fear."
7 Lord, in your kindness you made my mountain safe. But when you turned away, I was frightened.
8 I called to you, Lord, and asked you to have mercy on me.
9 I said, "What good will it do if I die or if I go down to the grave? Dust cannot praise you; it cannot speak about your truth.
10 Lord, hear me and have mercy on me. Lord, help me."
11 You changed my sorrow into dancing. You took away my clothes of sadness, and clothed me in happiness.
12 I will sing to you and not be silent. Lord, my God, I will praise you forever.
I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING-JASPER

3 The Lord's voice is heard over the sea. The glorious God thunders; the Lord thunders over the ocean.
4 The Lord's voice is powerful; the Lord's voice is majestic.

2 Hear the sound of my prayer, when I cry out to you for help. I raise my hands toward your Most Holy Place.
3 Don't drag me away with the wicked, with those who do evil. They say "Peace" to their neighbors, but evil is in their hearts.
4 Pay them back for what they have done, for their evil deeds. Pay them back for what they have done, give them their reward.
5 They don't understand what the Lord has done or what he has made. So he will knock them down and not lift them up.

Wednesday June 17, 2009 thought for the day

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Being pro life and pro capital punishment is very consistent, it is believing in sparing the life of the innocent and taking the life of the guilty-
2-Murder is killing but killing is not necessarily murder-
3-The darkness of our culture is that the authority of God and God's law are rejected without question or discussion-

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY PSALMS 22:9-18
9 You had my mother give birth to me. You made me trust you while I was just a baby.
10 I have leaned on you since the day I was born; you have been my God since my mother gave me birth.
11 So don't be far away from me. Now trouble is near, and there is no one to help.
12 People have surrounded me like angry bulls. Like the strong bulls of Bashan, they are on every side.
13 Like hungry, roaring lions they open their mouths at me.
14 My strength is gone, like water poured out onto the ground, and my bones are out of joint. My heart is like wax; it has melted inside me.
15 My strength has dried up like a clay pot, and my tongue sticks to the top of my mouth. You laid me in the dust of death.
16 Evil people have surrounded me; like dogs they have trapped me. They have bitten my arms and legs.
17 I can count all my bones; people look and stare at me.
18 They divided my clothes among then, and they drew lots for my clothing.

20 Save me from the sword; save my life from the dogs.
21 Rescue me from the lion's mouth; save me from the horns of the bulls.
22 Then I will tell my fellow Israelites about you; I will praise you in the public meeting.
23 Praise the Lord, all you who respect him. All you descendants of Jacob, honor him; fear him, all you Israelites.
24 He does not ignore those in trouble. He doesn't hide from them but listens when they call out to him.
25 Lord, I praise you in the great meeting of your people; these worshipers will see me do what I promised.
I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING-JASPER

Monday June 15, 2009 thought for the day

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Humility claimed is pride renamed-
2-Humility is a telltale sign of Christian discipleship-
3-In genuine Christianity, one person is not more important than another-
4-Age is like money, it isn't what you've spent but how much you have left-
5-You can't demand respect, you can only earn it-
STRANGE THOUGHT-Where in your brain is a memory before and after you are aware of it?
I'VE LEARNED-Success is being and doing your very best-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Is a person's mind renewed when they are "saved"?
2-Is the renewing of your mind a process or an act?
3-Since the early church spread under perilous conditions and todays church seems to be ineffective in spreading the Gospel, do we have the same power as they did?
4-Since Luke is the only non Jewish author of scripture, how, when and where did he become a follower of Jesus?
5-How could Luke trace the genealogical roots from Jesus back to Adam without written records?
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY PSALMS 22:1-8
1 My God, my God, why have you rejected me? You seem far from saving me far from the words of my groaning.
2 My God, I call to you during the day, but you do not answer. I call at night; I am not silent.
3 You sit as the Holy One. The praises of Israel are your throne.
4 Our ancestors trusted you; they trusted, and you saved them.
5 They called to you for help and were rescued. They trusted you and were not disappointed.
6 But I am like a worm instead of a man. People make fun of me and hate me.
7 Those who look at me laugh. They stick out their tongues and shake their heads.
8 They say, "Turn to the Lord for help. Maybe he will save you. If he likes you, maybe he will rescue you."
I wish you a day filled with love, laughter, forgiveness and thanksgiving-jasper

Sunday June 14, 2009 thought for the day

Father's day
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-When wealth is lost, nothing is lost, when health is lost, something is lost, when character is lost, all is lost-
2-It is not what you say, it is how you live-
3-It is not what you get, it's how you live with what you have-
4-When Jesus went to the Garden of Gethsemane, he didn't want to go alone-
5 Jesus said that no one comes to God except through him-
STRANGE THOUGHT- Time keeps everything from happening all at once-
I'VE LEARNED-If your ship doesn't come in, swim out to it.
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-What is required to have a heart after God?
2-When God thinks of me, what is his thoughts?
3-Do your actions or thoughts tell God you have a heart after him?
4-Should the church accumulate riches?
5- What is the "renewing of your mind", and how is it done?
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY PSALMS 21
1 Lord, the king rejoices because of your strength; he is happy when you save him.
2 You gave the king what he wanted and did not refuse what he asked for.
3 You put good things before him and placed a gold crown on his head.
4 He asked you for life, and you gave it to him, so his years go on and on.
5 He has great glory because you gave him victories; you gave him honor and praise.
6 You always gave him blessings; you made him glad because you were with him.
7 The king truly trusts the Lord. Because God Most High always love him, he will not be overwhelmed.
8 Your hand is against all your enemies; those who hate you will feel your power.
9 When you appear, you will burn them as in a furnace. In your anger you will swallow them up, and fire will burn them up.
10 You will destroy their families from the earth; their children will not live.
11 They made evil plans against you, but their traps won't work.
12 You will make them turn their backs when you aim your arrows at them.
13 Be supreme, Lord, in your power. We sing and praise your greatness.
I wish you a day filled with love, laughter, forgiveness and thanksgiving-jasper

Saturday June 13, 2009 thought for the day

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY
Here are my thoughts for today
1-You will have unknown opportunities to shape a spirit-
2-As you grow both in age and wisdom, the power of the material to bring you joy diminishes-
3-The best way to predict the future is to create it-
4-The only thing that is truly yours that no one can control or take from you, is your attitude-
5-A person has a healthy personality to the degree to which they have the propensity to look for the good in every situation-
Strange thought-What is consciousness?
I've learned-there is no key to happiness, the door is always open-
5 things I want to know
1-How are our spirits drawn to God?
2-What is a person's "spiritual eye"?
3-How does a person disown Jesus?
4-Is there a relationship between greed-covetousness-and selfishness?
5 On what basis did God chose David to be king?
Scripture for today Psalms 20
1 May the Lord answer you in times of trouble. May the God of Jacob protect you.
2 May he send you help from his Temple and support you from Mount Zion.
3 May he remember all your offerings and accept all your sacrifices.
4 May he give you what you want and make all your plans succeed,
5 and we will shout for joy when you succeed, and we will raise a flag in the name of our God. May the Lord give you all that you ask for.
6 Now I know the Lord helps his appointed king. He answers him from his holy heaven and saves him with his strong right hand.
7 Some trust in chariots, others in horses, but we trust the Lord our God.
8 They are overwhelmed and defeated, but we march forward and win.
9 Lord, save the king! Answer us when we call for help.
I wish you a day filled with love, laughter, forgiveness and thanksgiving-jasper
