Friday September 5, 2014 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-The quality of our lives is in the quality of our ties to others-
2-Don't give up on the one who doesn't give up on you-
3-He is a wise man who does not grieve for the things which he has not, but rejoices for those he has-
4-The glory of God is the outpouring of all he is, the display of his divinity-
5-There is no happier place than the intersection of God's will and your giftedness-

STRANGE THOUGHT-The chances of an open faced jelly sandwich landing face down on a floor are directly correlated to the newness and cost of the carpet or rug-

I'VE LEARNED-True love is neither physical or romantic.  It is an acceptance of all that is, has been, will be or will not be-

DID YOU KNOW-Abraham Lincoln died in the same bed that had been occupied by his assassin, John Wilkes Booth-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Did Esau marry a Canaanite woman to spite his father?
2-Had Jacob ever been told he had been granted the covenant blessing by his father after he was born?  If so, why did he spend his time conniving to gain it from his father?
3-Can a believer in Jesus choose to live in carnality and rebellion?
4-How could the aged Eli who was nearly blind receive Samuel from his mother Hannah to raise and care for him?
5-When God called Samuel by name three times, why didn't he identify himself?

BIBLE TRIVIA-What apostle was foreordained to minister to the Gentiles?
Answer for today-Paul    Galations 1:15

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY  Acts 8:5-7
Philip went to the city of Samaria and preached about the Christ. When the people there heard Philip and saw the miracles he was doing, they all listened carefully to what he said. Many of these people had evil spirits in them, but Philip made the evil spirits leave. The spirits made a loud noise when they came out. Philip also healed many weak and crippled people there. So the people in that city were very happy.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Thankful manFather, You have called us out as ambassadors for Christ, and in so doing, we make the proclamation of the gospel known not only with our words, but also with our lives. As we approach each new day we’re given a set of challenges. Some that will last only a day but others that will require endurance for years, even a lifetime. The way we deal with those “things” will bring You glory or may be a stumbling block to faith for those who observe. Father, You make Your appeal through us so it is our heart’s desire to trust You in all things – knowing they work together for our good and for the good of the kingdom. Remind us that You are working out Your purpose in our lives so that we will not be consumed with the smoothness of our plans, but rather the unfolding of Your Kingdom plans recognizing and acknowledging that You are good. Through all circumstances God, You are good – period!  It is in the name of Jesus that we give You thanks and praise. Amen.

SMILE, LAUGH, FORGIVE, BELIEVE AND LOVE, OVER AND OVER AGAIN!
