Friday August 5, 2016 thought for the day

THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-Don't expect applause-deserve it-
2-Vacations are two weeks spent with those you thought you love best-
3-A sense of humor is like a needle and thread, it will patch up many things-
4-The man who remembers what was taught at his mothers knee was probably bent over it-
5-Blessed are those who give without remembering and receive without forgetting-

STRANGE THOUGHT-Top cats often begin as underdogs-

I'VE LEARNED-Bernadette is the act of torching a mortgage-

DID YOU KNOW-In ancient Egypt, the apricot was called the egg of the sun-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Can we ask God to supply our needs if we do not share what we do have?
2-Can we ask God to save our friends if we aren't willing to tell them the good news of salvation?
3-Why is it that Christians seem to be more divided than united?
4-Why do we emphasize the differences with the brethren instead of what we share in common?
5-How can we expect to have friends if we are not willing to open our hearts to others?

BIBLE TRIVIA-"Anyone who brings a sinner back from the wrong way will save that sinner’s soul from death and will cause many sins to be forgiven" is the last verse of what book of the Bible?
Answer for the day      James

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY     Romans 1:16-17
16 I am not ashamed of the Good News, because it is the power God uses to save everyone who believes—to save the Jews first, and then to save non-Jews. 17 The Good News shows how God makes people right with himself—that it begins and ends with faith. As the Scripture says, “But those who are right with God will live by faith.”[a]

  1. 1:17 “But those . . . Faith.” Quotation from Habakkuk 2:4.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY

Father of grace and mercy, thank you for calling me to know Jesus and to be in relationship with you now and forever-

I PRAY THAT GOD GIVES YOU STRENGTH IN YOUR STRUGGLE, PEACE IN YOUR PAIN, AND VICTORY IN YOUR VALLEY-
