Monday November 14, 2016 thought for the day

THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-Those who keep the ability to see beauty never grow old-
2-A wish is a desire without an attempt-
3-The obvious is often not the most significant-
4-People that value privileges above principles soon lose both-
5-Good thoughts bear good fruit, bad thoughts bear bad fruit, and man is his own gardner-

STRANGE THOUGHT
Many folks who brag about being "young at heart" are quite older in other places-bad eyes, bad hearing, bad knees, loss of hair, etc-

I'VE LEARNED
It is not about having it all, it is about having what you value most-

DID YOU KNOW
The oldest US bridge in continuous use is the Franklin Avenue Bridge, built in 1697 which crosses Pennypack Creek in Philadelphia-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-What is the abundant life?
2-Did God resurrect Jesus from the dead or did Jesus do it himself?
3-Is it possible to be filled with the Spirit but not be led by the Spirit?
4-Is freedom from or to?
5-Why are Christians like non Christians in always wanting more or newer things?

BIBLE TRIVIA
2 Corinthians 6:18  “I will be your father, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty'.  This new testament verse is a quotation from what old testament book?   Answer Isaiah

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY
Romans 8:10-11   Your body will always be dead because of sin. But if Christ is in you, then the Spirit gives you life, because Christ made you right with God. 11 God raised Jesus from the dead, and if God’s Spirit is living in you, he will also give life to your bodies that die. God is the One who raised Christ from the dead, and he will give life through his Spirit that lives in you.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY

Father, thank you for the gift of your spirit-

MAY YOU HAVE ENOUGH HAPPINESS TO MAKE YOU SWEET, ENOUGH TRIALS TO MAKE YOU STRONG, ENOUGH SORROW TO KEEP YOU HUMAN AND ENOUGH HOPE TO MAKE YOU HAPPY-
