HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY

1-Be tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, tolerant with the weak and wrong.  Sometime in your life you will have been all of these-

2-Be cautious of giving advice for wise men don't need it and fools won't heed it-

3-Listen more and talk less.  No one ever learns anything by talking-

4-Be cheerful and helpful, people will repay you in kind-

5-Avoid angry abrasive people for they are generally vengeful-

 

STRANGE THOUGHT-Never be ashamed to admit you are in the wrong, if it just another way to say you are wiser today than yesterday-

 

I'VE LEARNED-Without tests there is no testimony-

1-Is true worship of God rare on earth?

2-Do we need to ask for the Holy Spirit's help in order to get it?

5-How did the Spirit of God (Holy Spirit) work in old testament times?

1-God comes into my life not to change my neighbors, children or family, but to change me-

I'VE LEARNED-We are so busy growing up, we often forget that our parents are growing old-

 

DID YOU KNOW-The ridges of the sides of coins are called reeding or milling.  A dime has 118 ridges around the edge,  a quarter has 119 ridges-

1-Deuteronomy chapter 21 says that anyone who is hung on a pole is under God's curse. Did that apply to Jesus?

1-Do all the laws God gave to the Israelites still apply to Christians today?

2-God gave other laws to Moses for the Israelites beside the ten commandments.  Are they still just as important as they originally were?

3-What is "God's curse"?

4-How could a merciful and just God order the destruction of entire population centers?

5-Is there any evidence that the Israelites stoned to death a stubborn and rebellious child as God had instructed them to do?

1-Thought determines what you want, action determines what you get-

2-People generally tend to see qualities in others that lie deeply within themselves-

3-Great ideas need landing gear as well as wings-

4-Go claim your inheritance in God.  That is the day your life will begin-

5-Life is easier if you enjoy the journey rather than just endure the situations-

 

STRANGE THOUGHT-One of the many things no one tells you about aging is that it is such a nice change from, being young-

 

I'VE LEARNED-You can't always win but you can always learn-

 

DID YOU KNOW-For a deck of cards to be mixed up enough to play with properly, it should be shuffled at least seven times-

 

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW

1-Why did Jesus tell his audience "to drink his blood" when the people were prohibited from doing so?

2-Is abortion in reality a human sacrifice which God has forbidden?

3-Did the Israelites ever practice "the year of jubilee"?

4-God said in Leviticus that neglecting the poor is a sin.  Is it?

5-Did God make slavery possible?  Leviticus 25.  The Israelites were considered servants and all foreigners were slaves?

1-Heresy is truth taken to extreme-

2-Scripture was not given to be obeyed, rather God would be obeyed-

3-If I accept the sunshine and warmth, then I must also accept the thunder and lightning-

4-I asked the Lord to walk with me when darkness was all that I knew.  He said to me never be afraid for I will see you through-

5-The Master of the Universe has nail prints in his hands-

 

STRANGE THOUGHT-I don't know how I got over the hill without getting to the top-

 

I'VE LEARNED-If you are not willing to change, don't expect your life to either-

 

DID YOU KNOW-The fat molecules in goat's milk are five time smaller than those found in cow's milk-

1-Why was there no obvious successor to replace Joshua when he died?

2-Why doesn't the new testament mention Samson's failures or his heroic feats of strength?

3-When was Samson appointed judge over Israel?

4-Did the old testament sacrifices actually remove sin?

5-How does blood make atonement for sin?

2-Think of God's word as God's voice-

3-God's assistance is not always immediate but it is always sure-

4-Gaining Biblical knowledge has 2 inherent dangers-pride and narrow mindedness-

5-For a balanced christian life there must be discernment along with knowledge-

 

STRANGE THOUGHT-You know you are getting old when everything either dries up or leaks-

 

I'VE LEARNED-Give, even when you know you most likely will not get anything back-

 

DID YOU KNOW-Sheep's milk is used to produce Roquefort cheese-

 

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW

1-Because we live in a world where evil abounds, and where war and terrorism always threatens, is God really in control?

2-The priest Eli had two sons who were evil, but he did little to correct them.  Why did he not punish them?

3-How old was Samuel when God first audibly spoke to him?

4-Is failing to pray for others a sin?

5-In the Bible, did God ever ask anyone to make vows or oaths?

4-Knowing God is a lifetime pursuit.  It requires a daily commitment-

5-God is our father only when we believe in his son, and not until-

 

STRANGE THOUGHT-When you are dissatisfied and would like to go back to your youth, think of algebra-

 

I'VE LEARNED-Common sense is not a gift, it is a punishment, because you have to deal with everyone who doesn't have it-

 

DID YOU KNOW-Reindeer's milk has more fat than cow's milk-

1-Several places in scripture it says "an evil spirit from God came....."  Does God sometimes use Satan's demons?

2-How many times was David anointed king?

3-Is love always enough?

4-Why didn't God want David to build the Temple?

5-Why did polygamy exist among God's people in the old testament?

1-Why are some people motivated to Jesus and so many are not?

5-Can you really control hitting the target with a sling shot?

STRANGE THOUGHT-Some people try to turn back their odometers.  Not me.  I want people to know why I look this way.  I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved-

 

I'VE LEARNED-What you do cannot be separated from what you believe-

1-Will all people who died be resurrected to a final judgement?

2-Will all peoples have an afterlife that is eternal?

4-Will we eat and drink in heaven?

5-Is the "new heaven" like a restored Eden?

I'VE LEARNED-When Jesus talks about bad trees, he refers to teachers who deliberately teach false doctrines-

2-How many judgements are there for all humans and what are their names?

STRANGE THOUGHT-Eventually you will reach a point when you stop lying about your age and start bragging about it-

 

I'VE LEARNED-Jesus statement "do not judge" is not a blanket command against all critical thinking, but a call to be discerning rather than negative-

 

DID YOU KNOW-Tabasco sauce is made by fermenting vinegar and hot peppers in a French oak barrel that has three inches of salt on top and is aged for three years until all the salt is diffused through the barrel-

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY

1-Church and God are not synonymous-

2-Obedience is better than sacrifice or giving-

3-Obedience is the key to knowing God's will-

4-It is out of the helplessness of our lives that we determine who our God really is-

5-Holiness is a relationship, not a state of being-

 

STRANGE THOUGHT-After eating an entire bull, a mountain lion felt so good he started roaring.  He kept it up until a hunter came along and shot him.  The moral-when you are full of bull, keep your mouth shut-

 

I'VE LEARNED-Jesus statement "do not judge" is against the kind of hypocritical judgmental attitude that tears others down in order to build yourself up-

 

DID YOU KNOW-Table salt is the only commodity that hasn't risen dramatically in price in the last one hundred years-

God, I stand amazed at how good you are.  I am overwhelmed by your love for me.  I don't want to live another second believing the lies of satan.  I want to live in the truth and experience your goodness, forgiveness and mercy.  Amen-

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY

1-Even though forgiven, sins have consequences-

2-Don't concentrate on the difficulty, concentrate on God-

3-The Bible says "Let your light shine....." not let your lips speak-

4-Trouble never leaves you where it found you, it leaves you bitter or better-

5-We often are so busy being religious that we don't have time to be Christian-

 

STRANGE THOUGHT-Letting the cat out of the bag is a whole lot easier than putting it back-

 

I'VE LEARNED-The traits in others that bother us are often the habits we dislike in ourselves-

 

DID YOU KNOW-Salt is one of the few spices that is all taste and no smell-

 

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW

1-Can we change God's mind with our prayers?

2-Was Satan a serpent in Eden from the beginning of creation or did he enter at the time of the temptation of Adam and Eve?

3-Was the serpent's only reason for being in Eden to tempt Adam and Eve?

4-Did satan have a one time only attempt at deceiving Adam and Eve?

5-If Adam and Eve had chosen gratitude instead of discontent, would the world be a different place?

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY

1-Many times the problems we face in life are primarily the result of our attitudes-

2-Trusting in my father's wise bestowment I've no cause for worry or for fear-

3-Disobedience comes from unbelief-

4-Depression has one underlying cause-self pity-

5-Don't have faith in faith, have faith in God-

 

STRANGE THOUGHT-If you are riding ahead of the herd, take a look back every now and then to make sure it is still there-

 

I'VE LEARNED-Living one day at a time keeps us from being consumed with worry-

 

DID YOU KNOW-Only 5% of salt produced ends up on the dinner table-

 

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW

1-Are all angels good angels?

2-Is there such a thing as spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly places?

3-Does satan have any access to heavenly angels?

4-Does God grow weary in our constant whining?

5-How many times is it recorded in scripture that God changed his mind?

PRAYER FOR THE DAY

Father, I am tired of fighting sin in my own strength.  I need your strength.  I want you to be in complete control of me.  I make the choice to yield my will to your will. Fill my life with your peace, joy, and victory as I surrender to you.  I am excited to truly live in your power and love- Amen.
