5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-God told Moses the Israelites were to give him the first born of their sons as well as with their cattle and sheep.  How was this done?

3-Did Jesus' life, death and resurrection negate or make null and void all the laws God gave to Moses for the Israelites?
4-God told Moses the Israelites were to set aside a tenth of all the field produced and to eat the tithe of the grain, new wine and oil and the first born of their herds and flocks in the presence of the Lord.  Why were they instructed to do this?

I have done what you say is wrong.
You are right when you speak
    And fair when you judge.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Thankful man
Father, it has been written that he who stands for nothing will fall for anything. Most within our generation stand for very little that has eternal value, in great part because they were never instructed in the Scriptures and had no godly example to follow. We want to fill in that chasm by being hearers and doers of the Word, leading men and women, boys and girls into a saving relationship with the Lord Jesus. We are convinced of these teachings by the Holy Spirit, by men and women of deep faith who led and instructed us, and by our own defining experiences in life. Help us to stand unashamedly and fearlessly as people of deep conviction so that we can.  Amen.

TODAY WILL NEVER COME AGAIN. BE A BLESSING. BE A FRIEND. ENCOURAGE SOMEONE. TAKE TIME TO CARE. LET YOUR WORDS AND ACTIONS HEAL AND NOT WOUND!

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Thankful man
Father, in this decadent world where impostors are increasing in number and, in their menacing deception, we can easily be lured into their schemes or we can stand our ground for purity and holiness though we may be few in number.  Help us to always be on guard by familiarizing ourselves with Scripture, and arming ourselves in the attire of a Christian soldier as we do battle with the enemy of darkness.

And, Lord, for those who are dear to our heart; those who have taken the enemy’s bait and now are entrapped in sin’s deadly tentacles, we prayerfully intercede on their behalf as we cry out to You.  Free them from the deadly strangle of Satan’s influence.  Grant us wisdom, discernment, and favor as we interact with them.  Send others to bring light to their darkened paths and to help us bear this heavy burden.  We will not be defeated, for Your power that is within us is greater than the power of our enemy.  We will not despair in our problems, but we will delight in Your promises. In the name of Jesus we pray.  Amen.

MAY YOU ALWAYS HAVE LOVE TO SHARE, HEALTH TO SPARE AND FRIENDS THAT CARE!

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Thankful man
Father, when burdens increase and answers don’t come I have a choice to let a bitter root grow up or to remain firmly rooted in You. Focusing solely on my troubles is sure to germinate doubt, fear and unbelief. But when I clothe myself in the spiritual armor You provide I have a powerful defense against the enemy; I can stand firm against his evil schemes. Though he plots evil You plan my eternal good. We are cautioned repeatedly in Scripture that we will have many troubles, but that we should take heart because You help us to overcome them. Father, though You’ve proven Yourself over and over I ask for grace to trust You even more.  Amen.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Thankful man
Father, as adults we tend to complicate matters and seek to understand that which is incomprehensible. We cannot fully grasp the Kingdom of God here on earth or that You would give Your only Son to die for us, and that by doing so, we can receive forgiveness of sins. These amazing truths are hard to grasp and often keep adults from receiving by faith all that You have for us. But Jesus gives us the example of children whose learning is very basic. They don’t yet know the why and wherefores of life at such an early age. But rather than Jesus instructing the children to first become like the disciples, as we would expect, He instructs the disciples to become like children. Father, help us to examine the characteristics of a child that bring You pleasure, that open our heart’s door for closer communion with You. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

TODAY WILL NEVER COME AGAIN. BE A BLESSING. BE A FRIEND. ENCOURAGE SOMEONE. TAKE TIME TO CARE. LET YOUR WORDS AND ACTIONS HEAL AND NOT WOUND!

Thankful manFather, in Your compassion You crush our sins under Your feet and throw them in the depths of the ocean, to be remembered no more.  And yet there are times when we have great difficulty letting go of past sins to the extent of dwelling on them and getting weighed down by guilt and self-condemnation.  Help us to let go of that which You have forgiven.  If we are to remember anything of our past, let it be that which brings glory to You as we share with others that which You have forgiven and delivered us from.  May the contrast of our former lives not bring up condemnation which You have freed us from, but instead provide witness that there is nothing beyond Your merciful pardon.  To God be the glory through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Thankful manFather, the words written in 1707 by Isaac Watts come to mind especially as we focus on the cross, “Alas! And did my Savior bleed and did my Sov’reign die? Would He devote that sacred head for such a worm as I?” Watts wasn’t a wretched slave trader, murderer or a swindler. He grew up in church as a preacher’s son, yet he was well aware of his worthless worm-like state in contrast to Christ, the mighty Maker who died, for man the creature’s sin. Drops of grief can never repay the debt of love we owe for our complete forgiveness, abundant life and eternal inheritance provided for us through the blood sacrifice of Christ Jesus our Saviour. But we can respond by saying, “Here, Lord, I give myself away, ’tis all that I can do.” And, amazingly, You joyfully accept our humble response and equip us with all we need to navigate our journey here below that leads us onward to our eternal home. We thank You for Jesus in whose name we pray. Amen.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Thankful man
Father, we are grateful for the boundaries You place throughout Scripture that are solely for our protection. Often it’s to protect us from the devil who lurks waiting for the opportunity to pounce and other times it’s to protect us from our own vain vices that can be equally destructive. Wise us up so that we don’t resent or rebel against that which is for our own eternal good. Rather help us to see that You are an all-wise, all-knowing God who looks after us and sets boundaries so that we don’t lose sight of our spiritual heritage here on earth which will pave the way for our eternal inheritance in heaven. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Thankful manFather, we want to be a people whose hearts and minds are One with Yours. Through our diligent study and application of Your Living Word our thoughts and attitudes are formed. Keep us faithful to the Truth of Your knowledge. We stand in firm opposition to the world’s substitutes; the acceptance, condoning, and celebration of anything You describe as sin. The world may dress it up, commercialize it, make it appealing, and cover up the disastrous results it brings on the individual, his or her family and society at large.  Help us to read, retain, and regard Your knowledge as our pattern for life. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

TODAY WILL NEVER COME AGAIN. BE A BLESSING. BE A FRIEND. ENCOURAGE SOMEONE. TAKE TIME TO CARE. LET YOUR WORDS AND ACTIONS HEAL AND NOT WOUND!
