Sunday February 8, 2015 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-Grandchildren are the dots that connect the lines from generation to generation-
2-Death is not extinguishing the light, it is putting out the lamp because dawn has come-
3-The bitterest tears shed over graves are for words left unsaid and for deeds left undone-
4-In faith there is enough light for those who want to believe and enough shadows to blind those who don't-
5-Death is a horizon and a horizon is nothing but the limit of our sight-

STRANGE THOUGHT-If you are forced to love God then it is not real love for love is a choice-

I'VE LEARNED-What you are will continue-

DID YOU KNOW-a  phonophobe fears noise-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Why didn't God give up on the Jews when they continuously turned from God to evil?
2-Was the temple the only place the Jews could encounter God and find atonement for their sins?
3-What purpose did the sacrificial death of so many animals play in the Temple dedication?
4-Was it numerically possible to have the priests sacrifice so many animals at the temple dedication?
5-When Solomon dedicated the temple, it was a 15 day ceremony where 22,000 cattle and 120,000 sheep and goats were sacrificed.  Did God require such an extravagant bloody affair?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Who died when the parted Red Sea closed up?
The Egyptians      Exodus    14:21-29

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY
21 Then Moses held his hand over the sea. All that night the Lord drove back the sea with a strong east wind, making the sea become dry ground. The water was split, 22 and the Israelites went through the sea on dry land, with a wall of water on their right and on their left.
23 Then all the king’s horses, chariots, and chariot drivers followed them into the sea. 24 When morning came, the Lord looked down from the pillar of cloud and fire at the Egyptian army and made them panic. 25 He kept the wheels of the chariots from turning, making it hard to drive the chariots. The Egyptians shouted, “Let’s get away from the Israelites! The Lord is fighting for them and against Egypt.”
26 Then the Lord told Moses, “Hold your hand over the sea so that the water will come back over the Egyptians, their chariots, and chariot drivers.” 27 So Moses raised his hand over the sea, and at dawn the sea returned to its place. The Egyptians tried to run from it, but the Lord swept them away into the sea. 28 The water returned, covering the chariots, chariot drivers, and all the king’s army that had followed the Israelites into the sea. Not one of them survived.
29 But the Israelites crossed the sea on dry land, with a wall of water on their right and on their left.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Thankful manFather, help us to remember that Your restraints are loving and holy, offered in the package of grace You extend to those who call on Your name. When we refrain from activities and attitudes that displease You we’re preventing erosion of Christian values and preserving Your Spirit of holiness. The Bible says there is none righteous, no not one, but the Holy Spirit who resides within us draws us to You and thereby sets us apart for holy service. Keep us separate and help us to say “no” to anything that would ensnare us to the enemy who seeks to devour and destroy us. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

I WISH YOU LOVE IN YOUR HEART.....PEACE IN YOUR SOUL.....AND JOY IN YOUR LIFE.....ALWAYS!!!
