Friday September 4, 2015 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-Those who disobey do not believe and they who do not believe disobey-
2-God is long suffering but does not always remain patient-
3-We cannot undo sinful deeds or unsay sinful words-
4-We all must live with the consequences of our words and deeds-
5-Life is really nothing more than a continuous string of moments, one after the other-

STRANGE THOUGHT-As soon as you sit down with a hot cup of coffee, your boss will ask you to do something which will last until the coffee is cold-

I'VE LEARNED-A goal without a plan is just a wish-

DID YOU KNOW-October 10 is national metric day-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Are there any altered ethical and moral standards from Biblical times not applicable for today?
2-Today we consider slavery as an inhuman and immoral practice.  Why was slavery acceptable in Moses time?
3-Why were women in ancient Israel the equivalent of a slave?
4-There is no record of Aaron being punished or killed for making the golden calf.  Why didn't God deal with him severely?
5-Why is there a slightly different version of the ten commandments in Deuteronomy 5?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Who said "Let not my lord, I pray thee, regard this man of Belial, even Nabal; for as his name is, so is he; Nabal is his name, and folly is with him."
Answer for today      Abigail    1 Samuel 25:25

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY    Luke 9:12-14
12 Late in the afternoon, the twelve apostles came to Jesus and said, “Send the people away. They need to go to the towns and countryside around here and find places to sleep and something to eat, because no one lives in this place.”
13 But Jesus said to them, “You give them something to eat.”
They said, “We have only five loaves of bread and two fish, unless we go buy food for all these people.” 14 (There were about five thousand men there.)
PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying manHeavenly Father, just like a grand canyon, sin cuts and digs deep chasms between us and a holy God. Thank You for providing Your only Son, Jesus, to act as a redemptive bridge so that we can cross over the great divide and transition from sin to forgiveness, from death to life, from punishment to mercy, from despair to eternal hope. We are now One with You, Father, and can act as a channel of Your mercy when we invite needy souls to walk over the bridge of salvation. It is because of Jesus that we can approach You, our holy God, and pray to You as our heavenly Father. Amen

-SMILE, LAUGH, FORGIVE, BELIEVE AND LOVE, OVER AND OVER AGAIN!
