Tuesday September1, 2015 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-If you focus on the past it isn't long until you have complaints about the present-
2-God not only wants us to endure tests he also wants us to learn from them-
3-Biblical truths work but it must be applied-
4-We each have our own wilderness experience-
5-We take ourselves with us wherever we go-
STRANGE THOUGHT-When you try to prove to someone that a machine won't work, it will-
I'VE LEARNED-Don't let a bad day make you feel like you have a bad life-
DID YOU KNOW-No Spanish word begins with the letter W (except for those of American English origin-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Is conceiving a sin in your mind as bad as doing it?
2- In our culture, why is adultery not such a big deal today?
3-Did "Thou shalt not steal" apply to just things or to kidnapping also?
4-How many of us would steal food rather than see our children die?
5-Is the "thou shalt not bear false witness" an injunction against lying in general or to telling the truth in a legal dispute?
BIBLE TRIVIA-Behold now, the Lord hath restrained me from bearing.  I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her"-
Answer for today       Sarah    Genesis 16:2
SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY    Luke 9:1-6

Jesus called the twelve apostles together and gave them power and authority over all demons and the ability to heal sicknesses. He sent the apostles out to tell about God’s kingdom and to heal the sick. He said to them, “Take nothing for your trip, neither a walking stick, bag, bread, money, or extra clothes. When you enter a house, stay there until it is time to leave. If people do not welcome you, shake the dust off of your feet[a] as you leave the town, as a warning to them.”
So the apostles went out and traveled through all the towns, preaching the Good News and healing people everywhere.

Footnotes:

  1. 9:5 shake . . . Feet A warning. It showed that they had rejected these people.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY

Praying manFather, we’re strengthened physically, emotionally and spiritually knowing that we can do all things through Christ who provides us with His strength. In ourselves we are weak and often distressed by the daunting trials of life. When they become our singular focus we are easily overtaken by doubt and helplessness. But when our primary focus is on worshiping the Lord Jesus who is our Provider, our Strength, our Sustainer, our Hope and our Soon Coming King our mourning turns into joy, our weakness into strength, and our hope is once again renewed.   Thank You for making that possible. Amen.

I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING!
