Wednesday September 2, 2015 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-Maturity is always a product of time-
2-Learning from the past may be hard but continuing in ignorance is even harder-
3-No one is so good that they cannot learn from someone who has their good at heart-
4-You must learn to distinguish between the important and the urgent-
5-A healthy fear of God will do much to deter us from sin-
STRANGE THOUGHT-The severity of the itch is inversely proportional to the reach-
I'VE LEARNED-Humble yourself or life will do it for you-
DID YOU KNOW-The Eskimo language has more than twenty words to describe different kinds of snow-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Has our society been built on coveting things?
2-Is it wrong to want more than you have or only if you want it at your neighbor's expense?
3-Did any of the laws given by God to Moses for the Israelites apply just to them and not to us today?
4-If the Jews were not to eat pork, why do Christians do so today?
5-How many trips did Moses make up mt. Sinai to get God's laws?
BIBLE TRIVIA-Who said "There shall come a star out of Jacob, and a scepter shall rise out of Israel?
Answer for today      Balaam      Numbers 24:17
SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY     Luke 9:7-9
Herod, the governor, heard about all the things that were happening and was confused, because some people said, “John the Baptist has risen from the dead.” Others said, “Elijah has come to us.” And still others said, “One of the prophets who lived long ago has risen from the dead.” Herod said, “I cut off John’s head, so who is this man I hear such things about?” And Herod kept trying to see Jesus.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying manFather, help us to stir up the fire of the Holy Spirit in our lives through faithful reading and application of the Scriptures. Though there are daily temptations, disappointments, and experiences that could easily extinguish the fire of the Holy Spirit in our lives, we thank You that Your abiding presence in our hearts is greater than the foe that seeks to deter us. May we always be attentive to Your still small voice and the convicting power of Your Holy Spirit so that we keep our spiritual fervor in serving You all the days of our lives. Through Christ we pray. Amen

LIVE SIMPLY! LOVE GENEROUSLY! CARE DEEPLY! SPEAK KINDLY! LEAVE THE REST WITH GOD!!
