Wednesday January 13, 2016 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-We can only give to others what we ourselves have-
2-At the heart of every happy family is a grandparents special love-
3-If you don't understand my silence, you will not understand my words-
4-Hearing the word of God is nothing, receiving it is everything-
5-Life outlined with prayer is less likely to unravel-

STRANGE THOUGHT-Dieters don't need will power, they need won't power-

I'VE LEARNED-If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it-

DID YOU KNOW-Dry cereal for breakfast was invented by John Henry Kellog at the turn of the twentieth century-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-The Bible says the temple in heaven is filled with the smoke of God.  Is this as we know smoke to be (from a real fire) or is this a figure of speech?
2-How much of Revelations is to be taken literally?
3-Are heaven and earth opposites-one spiritual and one material?
4-Did God create earth in the image of heaven?
5-Will there be community and culture in the new heaven?

BIBLE TRIVIA-What king cut up Jeremiah's scroll and tossed it piece by piece into a fireplace?
Answer for today    Jehoiakim      Jeremiah 36:23

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY    1 Peter 2:18-19
18 Slaves, yield to the authority of your masters with all respect, not only those who are good and kind, but also those who are dishonest. 19 A person might have to suffer even when it is unfair, but if he thinks of God and can stand the pain, God is pleased.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY

Lord, give me patience especially in the face of insults, harshness and unseemly behavior.  In Jesus' name, amen.

LIVE SIMPLY! LOVE GENEROUSLY! CARE DEEPLY! SPEAK KINDLY! LEAVE THE REST WITH GOD!
