Sunday March 12, 2017 thought for the day

THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-Our heart attitude toward God comes first.  Only then can we properly obey and observe religious ways and rituals-
2-When Jesus said he was "Lord of the Sabbath", he claimed to be greater than the Law and above the Law.  This of course was heresy to the Pharisees-What did he mean?
3-God is a God of people, not rules-
4-The best time to reach out to someone is when they need help-
5-The Pharisees placed their laws above human need-

STRANGE THOUGHT
If you want everyone to like you, don't be a pastor-

I'VE LEARNED
If you lack the courage to start, you have already finished-

DID YOU KNOW
The city of Denver was chosen to host and then refused the 1976 Winter Olympics-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Mary was told by Gabriel "the holy Spirit will come upon you".  How did she know what the Holy Spirit was?
2-How was it that Mary so willing accepted what Gabriel said to her?
3-How could Mary and Elizabeth be filled with the Holy Spirit before he was sent, after Jesus departed?
4-Was the Holy Spirit in the world before the transfiguration?
5-What does scripture mean saying "the Lord God will give Jesus the throne of his father David?

BIBLE TRIVIA
Who said " “This place frightens me! It is surely the house of God and the gate of heaven.”?
Answer for today        Jacob

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY
Romans 8:38-39   Yes, I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor ruling spirits, nothing now, nothing in the future, no powers, 39 nothing above us, nothing below us, nor anything else in the whole world will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY

Father, thank you for loving me,  let me relax today, secure in your love-

I WISH YOU LOVE IN YOUR HEART-PEACE IN YOUR SOUL- JOY IN YOUR LIFE-ALWAYS-
