Tuesday Auigust 15, 2017 thought for the day

THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-The Greek "Septuagint" meaning 70 became the most popular form of the Hebrew Bible.  It was the unofficial scripture of the early Christians who read the Hebrew Law and prophets in Greek-
2-When the christian church split during the protestant reformation, the protestants accepted the Jewish Canon.  That is why the protestant old testament is so similar to the Hebrew Bible-
3-Doubts kill more dreams than failure ever will-
4-If it wasn't for the last minute, many things would not get done-
5-A minimal amount of worry can wreak immense havoc in our lives

STRANGE THOUGHT-
There are a lot more stars in the sky than most people realize-

I'VE LEARNED
I miss the days when everything worked with just an "on" and "off" switch-

DID YOU KNOW
An iceberg contains more heat than a match-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Why didn't John leave after Jesus was buried like all the rest did?
2-Who died first, Jesus or the two thieves?
3-Was there any significance to the two thieves being crucified along side of Jesus?
4-How could the woman who washed Jesus feet have been forgiven when she never asked for forgiveness, repented of or confessed her sinful life?
5-Was Jesus cross made just for him alone or was it one of many pre made ready to be used?

BIBLE TRIVIA
Hebrews 8:11  "People will no longer have to teach their neighbors and relatives to know the Lord,
Because all people will know me, from the least to the most important."
This new testament passage is found in what old testament book?
Answer for today     Jeremiah 31:34

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY
1 John 1:5-7   "Here is the message we have heard from Christ and now announce to you: God is light, and in him there is no darkness at all. So if we say we have fellowship with God, but we continue living in darkness, we are liars and do not follow the truth. But if we live in the light, as God is in the light, we can share fellowship with each other. Then the blood of Jesus, God’s Son, cleanses us from every sin."

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father, I pray that I do not return to the darkness of my past sinful life-

I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING-
