Monday January 29, 2018 thought for the day

THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-Genuine faith is rooted in reason-
2-Most things worth doing are difficult-
3-Praise is the overflow of a joyful heart-
4-We can speak to God as a friend-
5-God uses present  circumstances to prepare us for our future-

STRANGE THOUGHT
Today I was as useless as the "G" in lasagna-

I'VE LEARNED
While you wait, God is at work-

DID YOU KNOW
The acorn woodpecker leaves its food sticking out of the holes it's drilled in oak trees, making it easy for squirrels and jays to help themselves-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-In the Lords's prayer, why is asking for our daily bread ahead of asking for forgiveness?
2-Can you be a secret disciple?
3-Did Mary ever try to convince anyone (especially her other children) that Jesus was the Messiah?
4-Did Joseph (Mary's husband) ever acknowledge Jesus as the Messiah?
5-Can you lose fellowship with God and still have a relationship with him?

BIBLE TRIVIA
What croaking birds fed Elijah in his solitude by the brook  Cherith?
Answer for today    Ravens      1 King 2:11

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY
Deuteronomy 1:31     And in the desert you saw how the Lord your God carried you, like one carries a child. And he has brought you safely all the way to this place.”

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father, I choose to be carried by your love and your love alone.  I reject counterfeit affections and set my heart on yours alone-

MAY YOU HAVE ENOUGH HAPPINESS TO MAKE YOU SWEET, ENOUGH TRIALS TO MAKE YOU STRONG,
ENOUGH SORROW TO KEEP YOU HUMAN AND ENOUGH HOPE TO MAKE YOU HAPPY-
