Friday April 25, 2014 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-Live for yourself and you will live in vain, live for others and you will live again-
2-The most important thing in communications is to hear what isn't being said-
3-A mother touches a whole generation just by loving her own son well-
4-Those we associate with either makes us better or worse, stronger or weaker, built up or torn down-
5-Freedom is never free, someone paid for it-

STRANGE THOUGHT-Why is it, whenever you attempt to catch something that is falling off the table, you always manage to knock something else over?

I'VE LEARNED-Forgiveness is love at the testing point-

DID YOU KNOW-The murder rate in the United States is two hundred times greater than in Japan. In Japan, no private citizen can buy a handgun legally-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-If Solomon was so wise, why did he think he could possibly satisfy all his wives and concubines?
2-Why didn't Solomon marry the Queen of Sheba?
3-Is there any place in Acts where people are pressed to acknowledge Jesus as their personal savior and Lord in order to be "saved"?
4-Has God demanded perfection from mankind?
5-Is God still a good God even when he says "no"?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Jacob is the only person known to have wrestled with an angel.  What kindly act did the angel perform after the wrestling match?
Answer for today   He blessed Jacob   Genesis 32:24-30

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY  Mathew 6:19-21
19 “Don’t store treasures for yourselves here on earth where moths and rust will destroy them and thieves can break in and steal them. 20 But store your treasures in heaven where they cannot be destroyed by moths or rust and where thieves cannot break in and steal them. 21 Your heart will be where your treasure is.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Thankful man
Father, because of Your marvelous grace You commissioned Your Son, Jesus, to die for an ungrateful, unreceptive and hostile people, and that includes me.  It’s easy to be critical of Peter who so boldly asserted that he would never deny Christ, but did so within hours and at such a critical moment. Yet Peter’s actions help us to view the tender grace You poured out on him at his lowest moment. His bitterness dissolved into brokenness. You are close to the brokenhearted, and deliver those whose spirit has been crushed. It is so instructive and encouraging to know that weeping may endure for the night, but joy comes in the morning. Peter, a fearful failure who grew into a faithful follower, eventually gave his life for the cause of Christ. May we too have such a resolve to follow you even if it means we may lay down our life for You. Thank You for Your amazing grace that looks beyond our faults and sees our need. Amen.

SMILE, LAUGH, FORGIVE, BELIEVE AND LOVE, OVER AND OVER AGAIN!
