Monday December 8, 2014 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-All roads lead to God-
2-God gives us things for satisfaction but not for contentment-
3-The key to contentment is a loving relationship with Jesus-
4-Personal heart change is a necessary first step toward personal life change-
5-With God's way of thinking, strength is weakness, weakness is strength, and foolishness is wisdom-

STRANGE THOUGHT-Cat-an animal intended to teach us that not everything in nature has a purpose-

I'VE LEARNED-Human nature tells us that our identities are defined by our possessions-

DID YOU KNOW-Parker Brothers prints about $50 billion worth of Monopoly money in a year

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Did Jesus' death go more quickly than the authorities had anticipated?
2-What kind of seal was put over the stone covering Jesus tomb?
3-Where all did Jesus appear in his resurrected body?
4-Where and with whom did Jesus live after his resurrection?
5-Why didn't Jesus' brothers ask to bury his body?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Who did Jesus send to catch a fish that had a coin in its mouth?
Answer for today       Peter     Matthew 17:24-27

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY    Mark 3:7-12
Jesus left with his followers for the lake, and a large crowd from Galilee followed him. Also many people came from Judea, from Jerusalem, from Idumea, from the lands across the Jordan River, and from the area of Tyre and Sidon. When they heard what Jesus was doing, many people came to him. When Jesus saw the crowds, he told his followers to get a boat ready for him to keep people from crowding against him. 10 He had healed many people, so all the sick were pushing toward him to touch him. 11 When evil spirits saw Jesus, they fell down before him and shouted, “You are the Son of God!” 12 But Jesus strongly warned them not to tell who he was.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying man Father, there is gladness in our hearts when we express our praise to You. We don’t want a complaining heart that dwells on that which one does not have, but we desire a thankful heart that appreciates all that has been given to us. We have continuous evidence of Your grace in every area of our life including that of our fellow brothers and sisters who have forsaken the world and surrendered their all to You. May we be eager to reveal Your grace to others as You continue the lifelong work of replacing our old nature by transforming it into the likeness of Your Son, Jesus Christ. May we be found faithful with steadfast purpose all the days of our life. Amen

May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, and enough hope to make you happy-
