Wednesday December 3, 2014 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-God's will for you is not about being in the right place at the right time but about being the right person-
2-My desire is that people who know me the best respect me the most-
3-If you spell success wrong, you will get it wrong-
4-True faith celebrates before our miracle happens-
5-Prayer and praise are both expressions of faith-

STRANGE THOUGHT-If you do not quit, you cannot lose-

I'VE LEARNED-You are not finished when you lose, you are finished when you quit-

DID YOU KNOW-Elvis failed his music class in school-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Are all of Jesus' followers his friends?
2-Who were Jesus' friends besides his disciples?
3-Jesus said "The father will give you whatever you ask in my name:.  Is this always the case?
4-Are there conditions to be met to get whatever we ask God for?
5-Jesus said when he returned to the father he would send the Holy Spirit. Is this different from the Holy Spirt who was already in the world as mentioned several times in scripture?

BIBLE TRIVIA-What unproductive tree withered by Jesus cursing it?
Answer for the day     A fig tree   Matthew 21:17-20

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY    Mark 2:6-12
Some of the teachers of the law were sitting there, thinking to themselves, “Why does this man say things like that? He is speaking as if he were God. Only God can forgive sins.”
Jesus knew immediately what these teachers of the law were thinking. So he said to them, “Why are you thinking these things? Which is easier: to tell this paralyzed man, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to tell him, ‘Stand up. Take your mat and walk’? 10 But I will prove to you that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So Jesus said to the paralyzed man, 11 “I tell you, stand up, take your mat, and go home.” 12 Immediately the paralyzed man stood up, took his mat, and walked out while everyone was watching him.
The people were amazed and praised God. They said, “We have never seen anything like this!”
PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying manFather, we honor our parents today, whether they’re living or deceased. You gave them to us so they could love, provide, nurture and guide us into maturity and independence. Help us to return our love to them as we thoughtfully and patiently respond to their changing needs. May they be able to depend on us even as we have depended on them throughout the years. When present circumstances make this responsibility extremely difficult give us the needed wisdom and creative means to still carry out the command to honor our father and mother.  In the name of Your Son, Jesus, we pray.  Amen.

LIVE SIMPLY! LOVE GENEROUSLY! CARE DEEPLY! SPEAK KINDLY! LEAVE THE REST WITH GOD!!
