Saturday January 10, 2015 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-The two healthiest emotions are generosity and gratitude-
2-An attitude of radical gratitude is God's desire for you because it develops your faith-
3-God wants you to be holy more than he wants you to be happy-
4-Resentment is a self inflicted wound that allows people from your past to continue to hurt you today-
5-Money and fame can come and go.  Peace of mind and a loving relationship with God are far more important and can last forever-

STRANGE THOUGHT-I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure-

I'VE LEARNED-In youth we learn, in old age we should understand-

DID YOU KNOW-People in Iceland read more books per capita than any other people in the world-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Why is Christianity so often presented so complicated?
2-Does it take more than believing to be a Christian?
3-Is there anyplace in scripture where someone prayed a prayer to become a Christian, a believer and follower of Jesus?
4-Today, what does it take to convince anyone to be a Christian?
5-Is the gospel a unique message?

BIBLE TRIVIA-When the disciples saw Jesus walking on the water, what did they think he was?
Answer for today     a ghost      Mark 6:45-50

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY
45 Immediately Jesus told his followers to get into the boat and go ahead of him to Bethsaida across the lake. He stayed there to send the people home. 46 After sending them away, he went into the hills to pray.
47 That night, the boat was in the middle of the lake, and Jesus was alone on the land. 48 He saw his followers struggling hard to row the boat, because the wind was blowing against them. Between three and six o’clock in the morning, Jesus came to them, walking on the water, and he wanted to walk past the boat. 49 But when they saw him walking on the water, they thought he was a ghost and cried out. 50 They all saw him and were afraid. But quickly Jesus spoke to them and said, “Have courage! It is I. Do not be afraid.”
PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying man Father, You have crowned our year with Your goodness that flourishes within our hearts, nurtures our relationships, and provides for all our needs.  As we embark upon another year we want to be quick to encourage, eager to reach others, and faithful to pray for our brothers and sisters; those whom we connect with regularly and those who live on the other side of the globe.  Above all, keep us growing in Your grace and knowledge in this new year of 2015 as we walk hand in hand with You.  In doing so You will guide us through any dangers, toils and snares, for nothing can separate us from Your love that has been revealed to us through Your beloved Son, Jesus Christ. It is in His name that we pray. Amen.

TODAY WILL NEVER COME AGAIN. BE A BLESSING. BE A FRIEND. ENCOURAGE SOMEONE. TAKE TIME TO CARE. LET YOUR WORDS AND ACTIONS HEAL AND NOT WOUND!
