HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-Goodness and mercy are God's sheep dogs-
2-Lord, as you grow us up, grow us deep-
3-God doesn't make us righteous, he declares us righteous-
4-If Jesus found it necessary during his earthly existence to pray "not as
I will, but as you will" isn't it wise for us to pray the same prayer every
day?
5-Don't seek more days in your life but more life in your days-
STRANGE THOUGHT-Why do croutons come in airtight packages?  Aren't they
just stale bread to begin with?
I'VE LEARNED-There is no pain so great as the memory of joy in present
grief-
DID YOU KNOW-Samuel Clemens, aka Mark Twain, smoked forty cigars a day for
the last years of his life-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Did the Garden of Eden stretch from the Persian Gulf all the way north to
the source of the Tigres and Euphrates rivers?
2-Was the Garden of Eden an enormous area of perhaps thousands of square
mile or perhaps a small place of several acres?
3-Did people really live many hundreds of years before the great
flood?
4-Ishmael is considered the father of the Arabs.  Does he also have any
standing in Islam?
5-Why did Abraham's father decide to move his family from Ur to
Canaan?
BIBLE TRIVIA-Where did Jesus heal a man who had been sick for 38
years?
Answer for today       the pool of Bethesda       John 4:46-54
SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY
46 Jesus went again to visit Cana in Galilee where he had
changed the water into wine. One of the king’s important officers lived in the
city of Capernaum, and his son was sick. 47 When he heard that Jesus had
come from Judea to Galilee, he went to Jesus and begged him to come to Capernaum
and heal his son, because his son was almost dead. 48 Jesus said to him, “You people must see signs and miracles before you will believe in
me.”
49 The
officer said, “Sir, come before my child dies.”
50 Jesus answered, “Go. Your son will live.”
The man believed what Jesus told him and went home. 51 On the way the man’s servants came and met him and told him, “Your son is alive.”
52 The man asked, “What time did my son begin to get well?”
They answered, “Yesterday at one o’clock the fever left him.”
53 The father knew that one o’clock was the exact time that Jesus had said, “Your son will live.” So the man and all the people who lived in his house believed in Jesus.
54 That was the second miracle Jesus did after coming from Judea to Galilee.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Father, You know that many of my days are
spent at a frantic pace. Often it’s due to my improper use of time, other times
it’s responding to unexpected needs that arise. As I invite You to examine my
heart and mind, I lay before You the people, projects, and pursuits that drain
me of needed peace and rest and further away from a heart and mind that is fully
submitted to You. Though You have not removed me bodily from this world, You
have raised me up spiritually to find peace and rest even as I carry out my
daily duties. As a vehicle needs fuel to properly function, I need Scripture and
prayer to uphold and equip me for the day that lies ahead so I place this
discipline at the top of my list and submit all other duties in accordance to
Your leading. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
