HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-Obedience to God leads to peace with God and others-
2-God never endorsed the idea that "the end justifies the means"-
3-Peace comes as a product of giving your life whole heartily to God-
4-Even the best counsel is ineffective if it does not help us make wise
decisions-
5-After the mountain tops comes the valleys-
STRANGE THOUGHT-Cleaning house with kids around, is like brushing your
teeth with oreos-
I'VE LEARNED-Thank God that he has the wisdom not to give us all that we
want all of the time-
DID YOU KNOW-A sultan's wife is called a sultana-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Is being foolish the opposite of being wise?
2-Does the Holy Spirit leave your body at death?
3-What does grace look like?
4-How much stuff is it okay for the Christian to have?
5-If Christians are to be dependant on God, why are so many consumed by a
desire for more money?
BIBLE TRIVIA-What was the Breeches Bible?
Today's answer-The Geneva Bible, so called because Genesis 3:7 reads, "they
sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves breeches."
SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY Mark 14:27-31
27 Then Jesus told the followers, “You will all stumble in your faith, because it is written in the
Scriptures:
‘I will kill the shepherd,
And the sheep will scatter.’ Zechariah 13:7
And the sheep will scatter.’ Zechariah 13:7
28 But after I rise from the dead, I will go ahead of you
into Galilee.”
29 Peter said, “Everyone else may stumble in their faith,
but I will not.”30 Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, tonight before the rooster crows twice you will say three times you don’t know me.”
31 But Peter insisted, “I will never say that I don’t know you! I will even die with you!” And all the other followers said the same thing.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Father, we who were once darkness, are now
light in the Lord, through our salvation in Christ Jesus. We live as children of
light partaking of the fruit of the light which consists in all goodness,
righteousness and truth. We seek to find out what pleases You, rather than
ourselves. The vast majority take no thought for their future life but live only
for the “here and now”. They gather treasures that have no eternal value, that
are washed away like the sand when the waves wash upon the shore. To their
eternal demise they dismiss the treasures that lasts for all eternity; those
which never perish, spoil or fade kept in heaven for believers who will later
claim their treasure trove. Help us, as children of light, to be faithful in
exposing the darkness of this world and the dangers that lie therein, warning
those who travel alongside us to prepare not just for this life, but for all of
eternity. Amen.
