Tuesday July 7, 2015 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-What we feed our minds is just as important as what we feed our bodies-
2-Honesty and fairness are not always easy, but that is what God demands-
3-Proud people seldom realize that pride is their problem-
4-Few acts are as cruel as making fun of the less fortunate-
5-"Evil will never leave the home of one who pays back evil for evil"-
STRANGE THOUGHT-It is impossible to express the inexpressible in words-
I'VE LEARNED-God works his purposes even through sinful events-
DID YOU KNOW-The longest word in the English language is 1,909 letters long, and it refers to a distinct part of DNA-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Was Judas ever a true believer in and follower of Jesus?
2-Why do some people always seem to be in the throngs of pain, sorrow and difficult times?
3-Were John's writings in the book of Revelation understood by the first century Christians or were they just as confused as we are today?
4-Should all Christians be evangelists?
5-When the Christian bears suffering, why is God honored?
BIBLE TRIVIA-Who said "Why are ye come out to set your battle in array?  Am I not a Philistine, and ye servants to Saul?
Answer   Goliath     1 Samuel 17:8
SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY   Luke 6:12-16
12 At that time Jesus went off to a mountain to pray, and he spent the night praying to God. 13 The next morning, Jesus called his followers to him and chose twelve of them, whom he named apostles: 14 Simon (Jesus named him Peter), his brother Andrew, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, 15 Matthew, Thomas, James son of Alphaeus, Simon (called the Zealot), 16 Judas son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who later turned Jesus over to his enemies.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying man  Father, we thank You for the spiritual armor that defends us in battle and arms us for the struggle we encounter against the devil’s relentless schemes.  This armor enables us to withstand the forces of evil, no matter the means or persons the enemy works through to try to weaken or destroy our faith. In addition to the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit we know that our prayers and petitions are heard by You who intercedes on our behalf before our Father in heaven. We use our armor for protection and we use the sword of the Spirit and prayer for weapons to reveal, attack and defeat Satan’s strongholds. It is through Your name, Jesus, that we are more than conquerors.  Amen.

I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING!
