Tuesday July 14, 2015 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-"The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure,  who can understand it?"
2-Too often we want God to help us in our time of trouble even though we have ignored him in our time of prosperity-
3-Good deeds do not save us, but they do display our faith-
4-Your ability to find satisfaction in your work depends to a large extent on your attitude toward it-
5-It is impossible to fulfill your God given purpose unless you revere God and give him first place in your life-

STRANGE THOUGHT-How does Moses make his coffee?  Hebrews it.

I'VE LEARNED-Those seeking to oust a God appointed leader will have a difficult battle-

DID YOU KNOW-Only three world capitals begin with  the letter O in English:  Ottawa, Canada;Oslo, Norway; and Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Why do so many Christians act defeated?
2-Can you be aggressive in love?
3-Ecclesiastes informs us there is a time for everything.  Does that mean there is also a purpose for everything?
4-Why is it so hard to change stuff in us that we really don't like?
5-Did Jesus really love one disciple (John) more than the others.  if so, why?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Who said "If I be a man of God, let fire come down from heaven, and consume me and they fifty"-
Answer    Elijah      2 Kings 1:10

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY    Luke 6:43-45
43 “A good tree does not produce bad fruit, nor does a bad tree produce good fruit. 44 Each tree is known by its own fruit. People don’t gather figs from thornbushes, and they don’t get grapes from bushes. 45 Good people bring good things out of the good they stored in their hearts. But evil people bring evil things out of the evil they stored in their hearts. People speak the things that are in their hearts.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying manHeavenly Father, it is only in following You that we can be a godly example of wholesome conversation, purpose-filled living, demonstrable love, overcoming faith and God-honoring purity. You know our failings are many and we so often fall short of being the perfect example we would like for those we love the most.  So we make it our continued goal to point them to the only Perfect Example, Jesus Christ, God made manifest in the flesh, so that they have a vibrant, living relationship with Him. And, though we will always fall short, we continue to make it our goal to live in accordance with the Scripture and follow Christ’s example. It is in His name that we pray. Amen.

I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING!
