Friday January 20, 2017 thought for the day

THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-You cannot measure your obedience by your feelings-
2-Sin includes not only what we do but also what we refuse to do-
3-Often, inspite of our defiance, God in his mercy will give us another chance to serve him when we return to him
4-Refusing to repent shows that we still love our sin--
5-The absence of guilt isn't always a barometer of whether we are doing right-

STRANGE THOUGHT
Coffee!  If you are not shaking, you need another cup-

I'VE LEARNED
Grace is not given because we have done good works but in order that we may be able to do them-

DID YOU KNOW
Japan's currency is the most difficult to counterfeit-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Why was the name Jesus given to Mary's child?
2-Why isn't more of Mary and Joseph included in scripture?
3-Why wasn't Jesus born earlier in history?
4-Why was Jesus born in a Jewish culture?
5-Does a sinner know he is a sinner if he has never heard the gospel?

BIBLE TRIVIA
In what book of the Bible is this quotation found  "Wild donkeys stand on the bare hills and sniff the wind like wild dogs.
But their eyes go blind, because there is no food.”
Answer for today     Jeremiah

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY
John 16:33   “I told you these things so that you can have peace in me. In this world you will have trouble, but be brave! I have defeated the world.”

PRAYER FOR THE DAY

Father, thank you for the available, encouraging, and overcoming peace that Jesus has given me-

I PRAY THAT GOD GIVES YOU STRENGTH IN YOUR STRUGGLE, PEACE IN YOUR PAIN, AND VICTORY IN YOUR VALLEY-
