THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY

1-That which you cannot control, you do best to avoid-

2-Jesus did not say every person will hear the gospel but that it will be proclaimed to all nations-

3-The only way the word of God can become real in our lives is through prayer and obedience-

4-Phariseeism is considered the forerunner of modern orthodox Judaism-

5-The Sadducees ceased to exist as a group after the Romans sacked Jerusalem in 70 AD-

 

STRANGE THOUGHT

My goal for this year was to lose 10 pounds, I only have 15 to go-

 

I'VE LEARNED

Most of the time there is no relationship between sickness and personal sin-

 

DID YOU KNOW

Tigers have stripes to help them hide in the rain forest undergrowth.  The black and and gold stripes break up the outline of the tiger's body, making it very hard to see-

 

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW

1-Did Saul ever make a confession and repentance for his sins in order to receive his salvation?

2-How was it possible for Moses to go from Pharaoh's household to be a shepherd in Midian?

3-How did David live from the time he was anointed king as a teen to when he became king at thirty?

4-Did Joseph ever wonder where God was when he was falsely imprisoned in Egypt?

5-What plan could God have had for John the Baptist by having him live in the desert and living like a wild man?

1 Corinthians 12:27-31  ²⁷ Together you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of that body. ²⁸ In the church God has given a place first to apostles, second to prophets, and third to teachers. Then God has given a place to those who do miracles, those who have gifts of healing, those who can help others, those who are able to govern, and those who can speak in different languages. ²⁹ Not all are apostles. Not all are prophets. Not all are teachers. Not all do miracles. ³⁰ Not all have gifts of healing. Not all speak in different languages. Not all interpret those languages. ³¹ But you should truly want to have the greater gifts.

 

PRAYER FOR TODAY

 

Father, I need you to help me respond to your calling to me and not to your calling to other people.  Then Lord, help me to serve you in love-
