Monday December 10, 2018 thought for the day

THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Christians are to love God for who he is, not for what he gives-
2-Job's suffering was a test for Job and Satan, not God-
3-The ark was 6 times longer than it was wide.  That is the same ratio as used by modern builders-
4-Anger is not necessarily a sin, but actions motivated by anger can be sinful-
5-Anger should be the energy behind good actions, not bad actions-

STRANGE THOUGHT

I'VE LEARNED

DID YOU KNOW
The original title of the television series "Charlie's Angels" was "The Alley Cats"-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-How could the chief priests have convinced people that the body of Jesus had been stolen?
2-Did the Roman guards tell their superiors that the tomb of Jesus was empty?
3-Did the Roman guards come to believe that Jesus was the Son of God?
4-What was Pilate's reaction on hearing that the body of Jesus was no longer in the tomb?
5-Did any Roman authorities come to check out Jesus' empty tomb?

BIBLE TRIVIA

Answer for today           an olive twig        Genesis 8:11-

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY
2 Peter 3:17-18     But you, friends, are well-warned. Be on guard lest you lose your footing and get swept off your feet by these lawless and loose-talking teachers. Grow in grace and understanding of our Master and Savior, Jesus Christ.          Message

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father, help me to be conscious of your presence, especially when challenges to my walk with you arise-

MAY YOU HAVE ENOUGH HAPPINESS TO MAKE YOU SWEET, ENOUGH TRIALS TO MAKE YOU STRONG,
ENOUGH SORROW TO KEEP YOU HUMAN AND ENOUGH HOPE TO MAKE YOU HAPPY
