Thursday May 29, 2014 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-A miracle is not the suspension of natural law but the operation of a higher divine law-
2-In school you are taught a lesson and then given a test.  In life you are given a test that teaches you a lesson-
3-Your greatest fear in life should not be that you fail, but that you succeed in something that doesn't really matter-
4-Blessed are those that can give without remembering and receive without forgetting-
5-Anger makes you smaller while forgiveness forces you to grow beyond what you were-

STRANGE THOUGHT-Shortline of monopoly fame, wasn't actually a railroad, it was a bus company-

I'VE LEARNED-Don't substitute the good for the very best-

DID YOU KNOW-You share a birthday with at least nine million other people in the world-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Why does so much of prophecy tell of events way in the future, sometimes hundreds of years?
2-How does a prophet know when a thought is a "word from the Lord"?
3-What would cause the people of Israel and Judah to listen to and obey the words of a prophet?
4-Where is the concept of hell first mentioned in scripture?
5-Does God ever mourn?

BIBLE TRIVIA-What two guides did the angel of the Lord provide for the Israelites in the wilderness?
Answer for today   A pillar of fire and a pillar of cloud   Exodus 14:19-20

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY     Psalm 95:6-7
Come, let’s worship him and bow down.
Let’s kneel before the Lord who made us,
because he is our God
And we are the people he takes care of,
    The sheep that he tends.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Thankful manFather, we want to fix our thoughts upon the living hope we have in Jesus Christ our Lord. We anchor our soul in the bedrock of Your Holy Word so that when other viewpoints counter the truths You teach our anchor remains firm. When difficulties appear insurmountable remind us that we serve an extraordinary God who does not rely on natural solutions but works in the supernatural realm to meet our needs. Satan builds brick walls in our mind to block our faith and trust in Your plan to make “all things work together for good to those who love You and are called according to Your purpose.” Our faith is grounded in the living hope of our resurrected Savior and it is in His name that we pray. Amen.
