HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY

1-A rich man is one whose children love him-

2-Good character like good soup is usually homemade-

3-When friends meet, hearts warm-

4-When you deny the problem you also deny the cure-

5-God never promised going home would be easy, just worth it-

 

STRANGE THOUGHT-Watching the boyfriend come for your daughter is like handing over a million dollar Stradivarius violin to a gorilla-

 

I'VE LEARNED-All of God's warnings come with pleas to repent and return to him-

 

DID YOU KNOW-In 1990 there were about fifteen thousand vacuum cleaner related accidents in the US-

 

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW-

1-Why wasn't it important for all of Adam and Eve's children's names to be listed in Genesis?

2-Who was the second person killed in scripture?

3-Why didn't Eve double check with God about not eating the forbidden fruit when tempted by satan to do so?

4-Why is Eve's death not mentioned in Genesis?

5-Was Job an Israelite?

5-When wrestling with restlessness remember the benefits of patience-

 

STRANGE THOUGHT-It is said that genes skip generations.  Maybe that is why grandparents find their grandchildren so likeable-

 

I'VE LEARNED-God knows exactly what we are yet loves us anyway-

1-Where did Cain's wife come from?-a sister?

2-Did Cain ever reconcile with his family for killing Abel?    

3-Cain told God he was afraid of being killed.  By whom, where and why?

2-God will bring a crises in your life to get you to change directions-

4-If you want a place in the sun you've got to put up with a few blisters-

5-A bird does not sing because it wants to be heard, it sings because it has a song-

 

STRANGE THOUGHT-A son is a son till he takes him a wife, a daughter is a daughter all of her life-

 

I'VE LEARNED-The book of Joshua is not about claiming real estate for a dislocated nation.  It is about preserving a people for God's redemption plan-

1-Did Adam and Eve end up with an intimate knowledge of both good and evil?

2-God told Eve she would have pains in giving childbirth.  What did that mean to her as they didn't know what children were yet?

3-If Adam and Eve had eaten from "the tree of life" what would they have been able to do?

4-Is paradise another name for "the Garden of Eden"?

5-Did Adam and Eve ever repent to God and ask for forgiveness for their disobedience?

1-What is confession?

2-How did the serpent get into the Garden of Eden?

3-Would Adam have known that he hadn't named the serpent when God brought all of the animals for naming?

4-How did Eve know to not eat from the tree of "the knowledge of good and evil"?  Did Adam tell her or did God tell her?

5-Would the fruit from the tree of "the knowledge of Good and evil" have been a luscious looking fruit?

I'VE LEARNED-The "Tree of Life" in the new heaven is a restored version of the same tree in the Garden of Eden-

1-Lord, help me serve in the spirit of Jesus-

3-There is no reason to get angry unless it changes things-

4-We are to trust Jesus, not necessarily to understand him-

5-Marriage-joy is the start of it, sharing is a part of it, love is the heart of it-

 

STRANGE THOUGHT-A fool may talk, but a wise man listens-

 

I'VE LEARNED-There will be no temples or churches in the new heaven God creates because people will be able to fellowship directly with God-

 

DID YOU KNOW-Colgate faced a big obstacle  marketing toothpaste in Spanish speaking countries because the word "colgate" translates into the command "go hang yourself"-

 

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW

1-Why did God let Abraham question his justice and intercede for a wicked city?

2-Will God's patience ever run out?

3-Why was Lot an important leader of the city of Sodom when he was so different than all the other men in the city?

4-Was Lot really willing to give his two daughters to  the sinful men of Sodom to ravish and abuse just to protect the visitors who came to see him?

5-What happened to Ishmael and Hagar after they were banished into the wilderness?

1-What did Ishmael's name mean?

2-Did Sarah's pregnancy and Isaac's birth have a devastating impact on Ishmael?

3-Until Isaac was born, Ishmael was Abraham's heir but then lost that family position.  Was that a hard blow on him?

4-Had Abraham accepted Ishmael as the fulfillment of God's promised covenant with him?

5-What did Isaac's name mean?

1-Pride means picking up after yourself-

2-Never substitute knowledge for compassion and care for others-

3-Our problem is not that we know so much but that we know so much that just "ain't so"-

4-Knowledge that isn't balanced with love and grace is truth gone to seed-

5-Good philosophy must exist if for no other reason than bad philosophy must be answered-

 

STRANGE THOUGHT-I don't need anger management, I just need for people to stop making me mad-

 

I'VE LEARNED-Revelations is the only book in the new testament that uses the word "alleluia", indicating praise to God.  (used four times in chapter 19)

 

DID YOU KNOW-The original fifty cent piece in Australian decimal currency had around $100 worth of silver in it before it was replaced with a less expensive twelve sided coin-

 

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW

1-It says in Genesis "every inclination of the human heart is evil from childhood."  When does a child know what is evil and what is good?

2-When Noah and families left the ark, did they all live in the same area at first?

3-Was it a long time from Noah and family leaving the ark till the tower of Babel story?

4-Why did God allow a famine in the land when he had just called Abram to go there?

5-Who was Melchizedek that met with Abram?  Was he an angel or even Jesus himself?

STRANGE THOUGHT-Age is a matter of the mind.  If you don't mind, it doesn't matter-

 

I'VE LEARNED-The word "LAMB" is the word most often used (28 times) to describe Jesus in the Book of Revelation-

 

DID YOU KNOW-The first coins issued by authority of the United States government were minted in 1787.  These pennies

were inscribed with the motto "mind your own business"-

 

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW

1-Can satan force people to do evil?

2-Does confession and repentance always come before forgiveness?

3-How can we acquire wisdom?

4-Are children more likely to learn from their parents mistakes or to simply repeat them?

5-Who was Nimrod and what do we know about him?

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY

1-Be tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, tolerant with the weak and wrong.  Sometime in your life you will have been all of these-

2-Be cautious of giving advice for wise men don't need it and fools won't heed it-

3-Listen more and talk less.  No one ever learns anything by talking-

4-Be cheerful and helpful, people will repay you in kind-

5-Avoid angry abrasive people for they are generally vengeful-

 

STRANGE THOUGHT-Never be ashamed to admit you are in the wrong, if it just another way to say you are wiser today than yesterday-

 

I'VE LEARNED-Without tests there is no testimony-

 

DID YOU KNOW-The face of a penny can hold thirty drops of water-

 

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW-

1-Is true worship of God rare on earth?

2-Do we need to ask for the Holy Spirit's help in order to get it?

3-How many people were taken to heaven without dying?

4-How many people are reported in scripture to have been raised from the dead?

5-How did the Spirit of God (Holy Spirit) work in old testament times?

STRANGE THOUGHT-I don't have gray hair, I have wisdom highlights-

 

I'VE LEARNED-The diamond cannot be polished without friction nor the person perfected without trials-

3-By the time a man realizes his father was right, he usually has a son who thinks he is wrong-

STRANGE THOUGHT-I am so excited for spring to arrive that I wet my plants-

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY

1-God comes into my life not to change my neighbors, children or family, but to change me-

2-Spiritually speaking, we will hold up better under adversity than under prosperity-

3-Nothing helps depression like helping others-

4-Teach me God in all things to see you in anything I do and to do it as for you-

5-Everybody is somebody-

 

STRANGE THOUGHT-Long ago, when men cursed and beat the ground with sticks, it was called witchcraft.  Today it is called golf-

 

I'VE LEARNED-We are so busy growing up, we often forget that our parents are growing old-

 

DID YOU KNOW-The ridges of the sides of coins are called reeding or milling.  A dime has 118 ridges around the edge,  a quarter has 119 ridges-

 

5 THING I WANT TO KNOW

1-Deuteronomy chapter 21 says that anyone who is hung on a pole is under God's curse. Did that apply to Jesus?

2-Is the term "first fruits" another name for tithe?

3-Was Rahab justified in lying to save the lives of the two spies?

4-When did Rahab come to have faith in the Israelites God?

5-Why would Rahab, a pagan, a Canaanite, and a prostitute be used by God to save the two Israelite spies?

MAY YOU HAVE ENOUGH HAPPINESS TO MAKE YOU SWEET, ENOUGH TRIALS TO MAKE YOU STRONG, ENOUGH SORROW TO KEEP YOU HUMAN AND ENOUGH HOPE TO MAKE YOU HAPPY-
