HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Take delight in the good fortune of another person-
2-People may spurn your appeals, reject your messages, and oppose your arguments but cannot stop you from praying for them-
3-"In everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God"-
4-Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle-
5-The fear of God is the soul of Godliness-
STRANGE THOUGHT-Ignore your rights and they will go away-
I'VE LEARNED-I am so blessed to have lived long enough to have my hair turn gray, and to have my youthful laughs be forever etched into deep groves on my face. So many have never laughed or have died before their hair could turn silver-
DID YOU KNOW-The actors in the first English play to be performed in America were arrested, as acting was considered evil-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Could Jesus ever have lived outside of Palestine (except for Egypt) during the 30 years between his birth and his baptism?
2-Did Jesus know his destiny before his baptism?
3-The Bible is silent about most of the first 30 years of Jesus' life. Was there nothing to tell, was there something to hide, did Jesus' family not live in Palestine, etc.?
4-The cup that was used by Jesus in the "Last Supper" came to be called "The Holy Grail". How and why?
5-Was Joseph of Arimathea ever accused of stealing Jesus' body from his tomb?
BIBLE TRIVIA-Who committed the first murder?
Haman, minister of Persia (Esther)
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY Matthew 5:33-37
Make Promises Carefully
33 "You have heard that it was said to our people long ago, 'Don't break your promises, but keep the promises you make to the Lord.' 34 But I tell you, never swear an oath. Don't swear an oath using the name of heaven, because heaven is God's throne.35 Don't swear an oath using the name of the earth, because the earth belongs to God. Don't swear an oath using the name of Jerusalem, because that is the city of the great King.36 Don't even swear by your own head, because you cannot make one hair on your head become white or black. 37 Say only yes if you mean yes, and no if you mean no. If you say more than yes or no, it is from the Evil One.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father, in our attempt to get even with our offender, we can do irreparable harm not only to our wrongdoer, but most especially to ourselves. Instead of having a spirit of forgiveness we harbor a vengeful heart. Our hearts harden and take on the character of the enemy instead of the Savior who loved us even while we were dead in our transgressions and sins. Our debt of sin He paid, freeing us to break the chains of sin that had long held us bound. Father, You heal the broken hearted and console the wounded as they seek You in the midst of their affliction, whether it is a fresh wound or an old injury. Our affliction from others is earthbound, but our affection for You is heaven bound where there will be no more heartaches, pain or wrongdoing of any kind. Keep us steadfast and faithful till that appointed time. Amen.
I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING-
