SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY    John 1:35-39
35 The next day John[a] was there again with two of his followers.36 When he saw Jesus walking by, he said, "Look, the Lamb of God!"[b]
37 The two followers heard John say this, so they followed Jesus. 38 When Jesus turned and saw them following him, he asked, "What are you looking for?"
They said, "Rabbi, where are you staying?" ("Rabbi" means "Teacher.")
39 He answered, "Come and see." So the two men went with Jesus and saw where he was staying and stayed there with him that day. It was about four o'clock in the afternoon.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying manFather, You have commissioned us, as believers, to reach the lost, inviting them to surrender their lives to Jesus and receive forgiveness of sins.  It is at their point of surrender that we witness the supernatural working of the Holy Spirit; cleansing, restoring, purging, and maturing the young believer toward good works in Christ. We thank You for the cleansing work of the Holy Spirit at work in each of us who come to faith, equipping us with the endurance and perseverance needed to walk our journey of faith in the midst of an increasingly hostile and unaccepting society. It is through Jesus that we come to You in prayer. Amen.

I WISH YOU LOVE IN YOUR HEART.....PEACE IN YOUR SOUL.....AND JOY IN YOUR LIFE.....ALWAYS!!!

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-When Jesus sent his disciples out 2 by 2, he stated they had great power and gave them specific instructions.  Did they do what he asked?
2-One of the things Jesus said in sending out his disciples was "Don't think the only reason I came to earth was to make everything peaceful and nice."  I thought he came to bring us peace.  What did he mean?

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying manFather, we are grateful for the many believers who invested in our lives at the beginning of our spiritual journey and for those who presently spur us on to faithfulness, good works, and spiritual growth. Just as King Joash needed the example and teaching of a godly priest, we too, need the exemplary guidance of those whose walk with the Lord is mature, consistent and inspiring. Speak to our hearts if we are to provide guidance to one who is struggling along the way, one whose life is complicated by factors that can easily lead him to stray from the right path.  We want to be useful in building and expanding Your kingdom. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

28 This all happened at Bethany on the other side of the Jordan River, where John was baptizing people.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying manFather, it is because of Your wise and loving character that You teach us about the wiles of our adversary, the devil, and his cunning ways. We are not caught unaware but recognize his strategy as we regularly read Your Word and store it up in our hearts. Your precepts are right and because of that we hate every wrong path. Direct our footsteps according to Your Word so that we stay in pace with You, observing the yellow lights of caution, stopping at the red lights of danger, and staying within the confines of Your guardrails. As we do so we will not allow sin to dominate our lives or lead us astray. We pray for Your guidance in Jesus’ name. Amen.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying manFather, we are “richly blessed” when we call upon You to save us from our sins. You desire to share riches of eternal value with the redeemed. Far too many play around with the idea of surrendering their hearts. They think about it in certain settings or when influenced by believing Christians or persuasive Scripture. We pray that they would not just stand outside the door of the kingdom, but take the necessary steps to step inside the kingdom of God by confessing with their mouths and believing in their hearts that Jesus Christ is raised from the dead. When we truly believe and boldly confess we are changed from within and our actions from without. That’s the mark of the true believer. May our lives give evidence of Your redemptive work and boundless blessings. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying manFather, all that we have is a gift from You, including that which comes to us through the work of our hands. You provide for us as you see beforehand all that we have need of. Until then it is reassuring to know that Your daily provisions come in the most unexpected ways when it is not within our own ability to earn an income. 4-Does it really matter for the Christian which day is their Sabbath as long as they have it one day a week?
5-Can we honor our parents and not obey them?

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY     Matthew 28:8-10
8 The women left the tomb quickly. They were afraid, but they were also very happy. They ran to tell Jesus' followers what had happened. 9 Suddenly, Jesus met them and said, "Greetings." The women came up to him, took hold of his feet, and worshiped him. 10 Then Jesus said to them, "Don't be afraid. Go and tell my followers to go on to Galilee, and they will see me there."

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying manFather, we who have received Your grace, place our faith in You. We choose to walk uprightly with integrity and conviction. Our words and actions declare the pure, unadulterated counsel of Your Holy Word to other faithful leaders, trusting them to pass on that which has been entrusted to us. In doing so we are faithful stewards of that which You commanded of us through the great commission: “Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every nation…”. We do this through Christ Jesus our Lord in whose name we pray. Amen.

Monday September 17, 2012 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Priorities become most important when we much make a choice-
2-Trouble is inevitable, misery is optional-
3-Instead of using your tongue to tear people down, train it to lift up God's praises.
Then living at peace with others will come easily for you-
4-When you raise yourself above a servant, you have just ranked yourself about savior-
5-The other side of fear is courage-

STRANGE THOUGHT-You want to know a really, really hugely annoying bad habit--over exaggeration-

I'VE LEARNED-No one is perfect until you fall in love with them-

DID YOU KNOW-Australian Rules Football was originally designed to give cricketers something to play during the off season-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Should communion be a part of every worship service for the Christian?
2-When did the day of worship get changed from Saturday to Sunday?
3-For what reason did Christians change the day of worship from Saturday to Sunday?
4-Did God ever change the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday?
5-Does the commandment to keep the Sabbath holy apply to Sunday for the Christian?

BIBLE TRIVIA-What judge of Israel was a prostitute's son?
Yesterday's answer-Satan   2 Corinthians 11:14

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY   Matthew  28:1-7
1 The day after the Sabbath day was the first day of the week. At dawn on the first day, Mary Magdalene and another woman named Mary went to look at the tomb.
2 At that time there was a strong earthquake. An angel of the Lord came down from heaven, went to the tomb, and rolled the stone away from the entrance. Then he sat on the stone.3 He was shining as bright as lightning, and his clothes were white as snow.4 The soldiers guarding the tomb shook with fear because of the angel, and they became like dead men.
5 The angel said to the women, "Don't be afraid. I know that you are looking for Jesus, who has been crucified.6He is not here. He has risen from the dead as he said he would. Come and see the place where his body was.7And go quickly and tell his followers, 'Jesus has risen from the dead. He is going into Galilee ahead of you, and you will see him there.' " Then the angel said, "Now I have told you."

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying manFather, we want to be set apart as a people who care about others, regularly expressing care to them as we follow the Biblical mandate that each of us should look not only to our own interests, but also to the interests of others. Paul charged his readers to have the same attitude as Christ Jesus who is the supreme example of putting other’s needs before His own. May we be more interested in giving energy to others than taking it for ourselves, for when we refresh others, we ourselves are refreshed. We are replenished as we give to others, for Your reservoir never runs dry and we thank You for it in Jesus’ name. Amen.

GREATLY BLESSED, HIGHLY FAVORED, IMPERFECT BUT FORGIVEN CHILD OF GOD-
