HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-The heart of Christmas is not the presents you give but the love you
share-
2-The finest Christmas gift is not the one that costs the most money but
the one that carries the most love-
3-Being rich is not determined by how much you have but by how little you
need-
4-It is impossible to love others until you really feel loved
yourself-
5-You can't appreciate light unless you've known darkness-
STRANGE THOUGHT-The way to avoid mistakes is experience and the way to get
experience is mistakes-
I'VE LEARNED-I feared rejection until I learned to have faith in
myself-
DID YOU KNOW-A cubic mile of fog is made up of less than a gallon of
water-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW-
1-When Jesus was asked to identify himself or give an explanation to clear
up confusion, why was his answers often hard to understand-
2-Did Jesus speak in a religious "double speak" that was difficult to
decipher?
3-When did the disciples finally "get it" that Jesus was the Messiah-
4-After Peter told Jesus that he was the Messiah, Jesus replied that it was
his father who had revealed it to him. Why didn't God also reveal it to the
other disciples also?
5-What do the "keys to the Kingdom of heaven" open up?
BIBLE TRIVIA-What noble prophet's sons were notorious for taking
bribes?
Yesterday's answer-Lot Genesis 19:30-38
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY John 1:47-51
47 As Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him, he
said,"Here is truly an Israelite. There is nothing false in
him."
48 Nathanael asked, "How do you know me?"
Jesus
answered, "I saw you
when you were under the fig tree, before Philip told you about me."
49 Then Nathanael said to Jesus, "Teacher, you
are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel."
50 Jesus said to Nathanael, "Do you believe simply
because I told you I saw you under the fig tree? You will see greater things
than that." 51 And Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, you
will all see heaven open and 'angels of God going up and coming down'[a] on the Son of Man."

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father,
we so easily consume our mind and energies with offenses we suffer at the hands
of cruel and hurtful people. But then we see how Joseph matured in the midst of
his cruel treatment, rose above vengeful plotting and a tit for tat attitude, to
focus on the bigger picture which was Your plan to save lives. May we rise
beyond the foolishness and cruelty of others to see the bigger picture of Your
overall plan for our lives. Whatever slight or evil intended by another cannot
thwart Your good plan for our life if we are driven by Your Holy Spirit and not
the offense. And at times it is in the offense that You conform us to be more
like Jesus. You want us to forgive our offender so that we have deep abiding
peace in our hearts and unobstructed focus for Your divine guidance in our
lives. It is only through You that we can forgive and mature in our Christian
walk. Amen.
