Monday June 3, 2013 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Facts are the most important thing in making a right decision-
2-Facts do not cease to exist just because they are ignored-
3-You miss 100% of the shots you never take-
4-Let your honesty shine on it's own-
5-keep your conscience clear, then never fear-

STRANGE THOUGHT-Why is it at class reunions you feel younger than everyone else looks?

I'VE LEARNED-The acids of bitterness eat away your insides-

DID YOU KNOW-The male moose sheds its antlers every winter and grows a new set the following year-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Were there wealthy followers of Jesus?  If so who and how many?
2-When were the first early followers of Jesus taught about tithing?
3-When Ananias and his wife Sapphira died instantly, was it from the shock of being discovered they had lied, or was it a God delivered blow of punishment?
4-What stories are there in the Bible about killing sinful people?
5-Was providing food every day to needy people such as widows, the church's first compassionate ministry program?

BIBLE TRIVIA-What two men were high priests during David's reign?
Yesterday's answer-Ahaz    2 Kings 16:11

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY   Acts 6:1-4
The number of followers was growing. But during this same time, the Greek-speaking followers had an argument with the other followers. The Greek-speaking widows were not getting their share of the food that was given out every day. The twelve apostles called the whole group of followers together and said, “It is not right for us to stop our work of teaching God’s word in order to serve tables. So, brothers and sisters, choose seven of your own men who are good, full of the Spirit and full of wisdom. We will put them in charge of this work. Then we can continue to pray and to teach the word of God.”

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying manFather, You guide us through the many dangers, toils, and snares that we face while journeying here below. In these major challenges we desire to give You glory in what we say, what we do and in the way we process our emotions as we prayerfully respond to the challenges set before us. We want to be joyful in hope, patient in affliction and faithful in prayer as we overcome life’s struggles. We find healing for our soul when we rely on You, our tender and loving Father, who heals our broken heart and binds up our wounds. You are ever faithful and ever interceding for us, your children. And we thank You for it in the name of Jesus. Amen.

GREATLY BLESSED, HIGHLY FAVORED, IMPERFECT BUT FORGIVEN CHILD OF GOD
