Sunday June 9, 2013 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-When you say "The Lord is my Shepherd" you are saying you are a sheep-
2-If you sow the seeds of kindness your reward will be seen through the eyes of everyone you meet-
3-There is as much risk in doing nothing as in doing something-
4-Courage is being the only one who knows you are afraid-
5-A prudent question is one half of wisdom-

STRANGE THOUGHT-On the other hand--you have different fingers-

I'VE LEARNED-Don't make mountains out of molehills-

DID YOU KNOW-Only four species of cats can roar, and they don't purr-lions,leopards,tigers, and jaguars-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Did the Star of Bethlehem shine on the ground to guide the wise men?
2-Before Paul became a follower of Jesus was he an intolerant Jewish terrorist?
3-Where did the Christian name "The Way" come from?
4-Were the intolerant Jewish traditionalists such as Saul similar in their attitude as the Muslim terrorists of today?
5-Are there any dramatic conversions to Christianity today such as that like Saul?

BIBLE TRIVIA-What leader after the exile traced his ancestry back to the high priest Aaron?
Yesterday's answer-Azariah  2 Chronicles  26:18

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY   Acts 7:11-16
11 “Then all the land of Egypt and Canaan became so dry that nothing would grow, and the people suffered very much. Jacob’s sons, our ancestors, could not find anything to eat. 12 But when Jacob heard there was grain in Egypt, he sent his sons there. This was their first trip to Egypt. 13 When they went there a second time, Joseph told his brothers who he was, and the king learned about Joseph’s family. 14 Then Joseph sent messengers to invite Jacob, his father, to come to Egypt along with all his relatives (seventy-five persons altogether). 15 So Jacob went down to Egypt, where he and his sons died. 16 Later their bodies were moved to Shechem and put in a grave there. (It was the same grave Abraham had bought for a sum of money from the sons of Hamor in Shechem.)

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying man Father, because I love Your commands more than worldly pleasures or temporal possessions I despise the paths that lead me astray like a lost sheep. You have gone before me and cleared the way so that I might follow in Your steps and the steps of other righteous, godly saints.  I am comforted in knowing that I don’t walk alone, but I walk hand in hand with You as my Guide. Through eyes of faith I see a great cloud of witnesses, those spoken of in the Bible and those I’ve known in my lifetime, who’ve already finished the race cheering me on as I persevere on this path of righteousness. May I willingly endure hardship as it disciplines my commitment to walking in Your ways. I want to wholeheartedly seek You above everything else, for You are a Rewarder of those who diligently seek You. Amen.

I WISH YOU LOVE IN YOUR HEART.....PEACE IN YOUR SOUL.....AND JOY IN YOUR LIFE.....ALWAYS!!!
