HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-The purpose in life is to have a life purpose-
2-Change the changeable, accept the unchangeable, and remove yourself from
the unacceptable-
3-One thing about the school of experience is that it will repeat the
lesson if you failed it the first time-
4-Every song ends, but that is no reason to not enjoy music-
5-What the world needs is more love and less paperwork
STRANGE THOUGHT-There are three ways to get something done-do it
yourself-hire someone to do it for you-forbid your children to do it-
I'VE LEARNED-If you lack the courage to start, you have already
finished-
DID YOU KNOW-The polar bear is the only bear that has hair on the soles of
its feet. This protects the animal's feet from the cold and prevents slipping
on the ice-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Are all the 10 commandments relevant today?
2-Were the Pharisees trying to make it difficult for the Jews to be
religious?
3-Were the Pharisees correct in trying to keep the Sabbath day holy?
4-Why do Christians today seem to ignore the 4th commandment of keeping the
Sabbath holy?
5-Did Jesus replace the 10 commandments or make them null and void?
BIBLE TRIVIA-What two apostles were met by a priest of Zeus, who tried to
to offer sacrifices to them-
Yesterday's answer-Paul Acts 9:2
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY Acts 9:36-39
Peter Heals Tabitha
36 In the city of Joppa there was a follower named Tabitha (whose Greek name was Dorcas). She was always doing good deeds and kind acts. 37 While Peter was in Lydda, Tabitha became sick and died. Her body was washed and put in a room upstairs. 38 Since Lydda is near Joppa and the followers in Joppa heard that Peter was in Lydda, they sent two messengers to Peter. They begged him, “Hurry, please come to us!” 39 So Peter got ready and went with them. When he arrived, they took him to the upstairs room where all the widows stood around Peter, crying. They showed him the shirts and coats Tabitha had made when she was still alive.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father, far too often we want quick fixes or to
know the exact means in which You are going to work a matter out in our lives.
But even as the Gospel is in ways a mystery unfolding, so is Your leading in our
lives. If we had it all figured out and knew exactly how everything was going to
fall into place, we’d be walking by sight rather than trusting by faith. We know
that “faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we cannot see.” Reassure our
hearts as we keep the words of Solomon before us, “In his heart a man plans his
course, but the Lord determines his steps.” May Your Voice of Truth always be
our guide in testing the spirits of those who are quick to say, “Thus saith the
Lord” or “God told me…” If they are truly Your prophetic messengers their
actions and words will be confirmed through Scripture. Amen.
