1-What appears obvious may not be-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW

know they are sinners". What did he mean?
2-Why was Matthew called to be a disciple when he was a despised Jewish tax
collector?
3-Why did Jesus change Simon's name to Peter?

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY ACTS 9:28-31
28And so Saul stayed with the followers, going everywhere in Jerusalem,
preaching boldly in the name of the lord. 29He would often talk and argue with
the Jewish people who spoke Greek, but they were trying to kill him. 30When the
followers learned about this, they took Saul to Caesarea and from there sent him
to Tarsus.
31The church everywhere in Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had a time of peace
and became stronger. Respecting the Lord by the way they lived, and being
encouraged by the Holy Spirit, the group of believers continued to grow-
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father, it’s been said that
“courage is fear that said its prayers”. And it’s true that You can change our
hearts and outlook even when the circumstances have not changed. But it requires
our dependency on You through persevering in prayer which results in absolute
trust. We can be assured of Your eternal encouragement and good hope as it
encourages our hearts and strengthens us in every good deed and word. It is
through Christ Jesus our Lord that we pray in faith believing that You turn
tragedy into triumph, as You work out all things together for our good.
Amen.
