Sunday July 7, 2013 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-The Bible is the manual for Christian living-
2-May the God who called me here below be forever mine-
3-Compassion is more than a feeling-
4-Those people that Jesus healed or raised from the dead had to decide if they would respond to his word-
5-Commitment to God that costs us nothing is worth nothing-

STRANGE THOUGHT-Adolescence is the age at which children stop asking questions because they know all the answers-

I'VE LEARNED-You lie the loudest when you lie to yourself-

DID YOU KNOW-Polar bears have more problems with overheating than they do with cold.  Even in very cold weather, they quickly overheat when they try to run-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-All the men that Jesus called were just ordinary men.  Why was this the kind of person Jesus called?
2-Could Jesus have called better men to be a disciples?
3-Even Jesus family thought "He was out of his mind".  Why didn't Mary explain to the rest of the family who Jesus really was?
4-As a boy, would his siblings have seen anything different about Jesus?
5-Were the Jewish leaders in Jesus day more about rules and laws than about love and relationships?

BIBLE TRIVIA-What man asked the high priest for letters of commendation so he could work in the synagogues of Damascus?
Yesterday's answer-Zadok    1 Kings 1:45

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY     Acts 9:32-35
32 As Peter was traveling through all the area, he visited God’s people who lived in Lydda. 33 There he met a man named Aeneas, who was paralyzed and had not been able to leave his bed for the past eight years. 34 Peter said to him, “Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you. Stand up and make your bed.” Aeneas stood up immediately. 35 All the people living in Lydda and on the Plain of Sharon saw him and turned to the Lord.

PRPraying manAYER FOR TODAY

Father, we pray for Holy Spirit power to enable us to give godly counsel based upon Your inerrant and unchanging Scripture.  It is not from the media, current polls, or popular personalities that we form our opinions. We acknowledge that Satan is the god of this age, plotting to confuse, distort and mislead.  Our confidence is firmly established in the inspiration of the Holy Scriptures which are able to make us wise for salvation.  They inspire, teach, convict, correct, comfort and model for us the way we’re to live our earthly life.  May we never sugar coat Your commands because we want to please others who differ with Your authority.  We want to honor Your Word in all we say and do.  As we look in the mirror of truth, help it to reflect this godly intent. If the reflection shows otherwise, help us to make the necessary changes in accordance with Your Word. In Your name, Jesus, we pray.  Amen.

I WISH YOU LOVE IN YOUR HEART.....PEACE IN YOUR SOUL.....AND JOY IN YOUR LIFE.....ALWAYS!!!
