Monday August 25, 2014 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-The bridge between hope and faith is a promise of God-
2-Biblical faith is confidence that God is who he said he was and will do what he said he will do-
3-When you love with all that you have, you grieve with all that you are-
4-There is no revenge so complete as forgiveness-
5-Forgiveness does not need to be two sided-

STRANGE THOUGHT-The only difference between a yard sale and a trash pickup is how close to the road you put the stuff-

I'VE LEARNED-The probability of being watched is directly proportional to the stupidity of your act-

DID YOU KNOW-James Buchanan is said to have had the neatest handwriting of all the presidents-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Did Sarah ever question Abraham's taking Isaac to the mountain?
2-Was the ram caught in the thicket all the while Abraham was preparing for the sacrifice?
3-Did Abraham tell anyone before hand what he was going to do with Isaac?
4-When God spoke to Abraham about sacrificing his son, did he ever question God or ask for a verification?
5-Did Abraham value his son any more than we do our sons today?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Who know a man who had been caught up into the "third heaven"?
Answer for today   Paul  2 Corinthians 12:2

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY    John 15:1-4
“I am the true vine; my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch of mine that does not produce fruit. And he trims and cleans every branch that produces fruit so that it will produce even more fruit. You are already clean because of the words I have spoken to you. Remain in me, and I will remain in you. A branch cannot produce fruit alone but must remain in the vine. In the same way, you cannot produce fruit alone but must remain in me.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Thankful man Father, we are grateful that Jesus hears our prayers, knows of our troubles and intercedes on our behalf. But there are times when we are in need of the compassion of a caring “in the flesh” friend; one who will pray, listen, lend support, and interject thoughts, experiences or suggestions that help us to bear our troublesome burdens. Instead of casting judgment they lend a thought or hand in addition to their personal time to meet our need(s).  Thank you for caring friends who bear with us, lift us up out of despair, and help us discover solutions that we, by ourselves, cannot find.  Help me to be that kind of friend, in the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

GREATLY BLESSED, HIGHLY FAVORED, IMPERFECT BUT FORGIVEN CHILD OF GOD!
