Sunday August 17, 2014 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-Actions(what we do) mold our reputations, establish relationships and produce accomplishments-
2-Never allow feelings to limit what you choose to do-
3-You can act positively even when you don't feel positive-
4-It is unlikely that a person will apply themselves unless they have goals which they consider worth pursuing-
5-The first thing you need to do is often the last thing you want to do-

STRANGE THOUGHT-The person who is on the square usually has a large circle of friends-

I'VE LEARNED-If you haven't written down your goals, you haven't really set them-

DID YOU KNOW-Thomas Jefferson, John Adams,and James Madison all died on July 4.

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Was Cain's murder of Abel an act of defiance to God-"if you want  a sacrifice God, here is your sacrifice!"-
2-How much time passed between the rejected offering of Cain and his murdering Abel?
3-Did Cain not care about his parents love for Abel?
4-Could Cain have wanted one of Abel's flock for an offering but was rejected by Abel?
5-What did Cain do with Abel's body?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Who had a vision of four angels holding the four winds of the earth?
Answer for today     John   Revelation 20: 2

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY     Isaiah 35:8
A road will be there;
    This highway will be called “The Road to Being Holy.”
Evil people will not be allowed to walk on that road;
    Only good people will walk on it.
    No fools will go on it.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Thankful manFather, as the vast majority of our readers joined together in worship on Sunday, we were undisturbed by the governing authorities. We thought nothing of opening the Scriptures or reciting them aloud as a congregation. We sang jubilantly without fear of being overheard by opposing forces who may be lurking in the shadows or those in our midst who are actually wolves disguised in sheep’s clothing. But there are others spread throughout the world who face these kinds of dangers and oppressive conditions every Sunday, and for that matter everyday. We pray for the visitation of the Holy Spirit to strengthen the persecuted believers. May their resolve to be followers of The Way remain firm and unyielding in their stand for Christ. We pray for those who lash out, act as spies, and torment the redeemed. May they come to faith just as Saul did, and become devoted followers of Christ, in great part due to the character witness of the persecuted believers. Grant a deep sense of peace to family members whose loved ones are undergoing persecution. May they find You to be their all in all, providing for their spiritual, emotional, and material needs. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

I WISH YOU LOVE IN YOUR HEART.....PEACE IN YOUR SOUL.....AND JOY IN YOUR LIFE.....ALWAYS!!!
