HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-The more a person fears and respects God, the more they will hate
evil-
2-Don't let anything become more important than your search for God's
wisdom-
3-Before reaching for forbidden fruit, take a long look at what happens to
those who eat it-
4-The book of Proverbs is filled with verses that contrast the righteous
person with the wicked-
5-Being "righteous" does not mean being perfect-
STRANGE THOUGHT-Too many Christians are not "fishers of men" but aquarium
keepers-
I'VE LEARNED-Great rewards come from obeying God-
DID YOU KNOW-Certain sounds in the English language are real germ
spreaders, particularly the sounds F, P, T, D, and S-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Is guilt always good or always bad?
2-How can we recognize the source of our guilt-
3-What is the relationship between grace and forgiveness?
4-Is it okay to let our conscience be our guide?
5-How does our heart condemn us?
BIBLE TRIVIA-Who said "I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet's son: but
I was a herdsman, and a gatherer of sycamore fruit"-
Answer Amos 7:14
SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY Luke 5:17-20
17 One
day as Jesus was teaching the people, the Pharisees and teachers of the law from
every town in Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem were there. The Lord was
giving Jesus the power to heal people. 18 Just then, some men were
carrying on a mat a man who was paralyzed. They tried to bring him in and put
him down before Jesus. 19 But because there were so many people there, they could
not find a way in. So they went up on the roof and lowered the man on his mat
through the ceiling into the middle of the crowd right before Jesus.
20 Seeing their faith, Jesus said,
“Friend, your sins are
forgiven.”
PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Father,
it must surely sadden Your heart that we’re quick to talk about the weather,
politics, gossip or about the latest fashion, tool or electronic gizmo but we’re
slow to speak about the Rock of our salvation. Why should we hesitate to be
boisterous about the amazing ways You work in our lives every day when You
forthrightly tell Your followers that You long for the praises of Your people.
Jeremiah writes that “But those who wish to boast should boast in this alone:
that they truly know me and understand that I am the LORD who demonstrates
unfailing love and who brings justice and righteousness to the earth, and that I
delight in these things. I, the LORD, have spoken!” You also give warning that
the rocks will cry out in our place if we don’t give praise. Let us praise You
foremost with our surrendered lives but also with our yielded tongues as we
speak forth the praises of Him who called us out of darkness into His wonderful
light. Now is the time to worship as we confess with our tongues that Jesus
Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father who is in heaven. Amen.
May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, and enough hope to make you happy-
May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, and enough hope to make you happy-
