Wednesday June 24, 2015 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-By giving we gain freedom from enslavement to our possessions, the joy of helping others and God's approval-
2-There are no alternatives to learning wisdom-
3-If you are willing to be taught, there is no end to what you can learn-
4-A person who refuses constructive criticism has a problem with pride.  Such a person is unlikely to learn very much-
5-In the long run, evil behavior does not lead to success, it only leads to more evil-

STRANGE THOUGHT-Stupid won't fix stupid-

I'VE LEARNED-Seeking peace brings true respect-

DID YOU KNOW-Rhythm and syzygy are the longest English words without vowels-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-How does God give us strength when we are weary?
2-Is there anything we must do to earn God's favor?
3-What is "spiritual weariness"?
4-Why do some people think it is easier to earn God's approval than to trust his gift of grace?
5-How does our desire for justice affect our willingness or ability to forgive?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Who said "Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God; for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him"
Answer     Nicodemus            John 3:2

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY    Luke 5:27-32
27 After this, Jesus went out and saw a tax collector named Levi sitting in the tax collector’s booth. Jesus said to him, “Follow me!” 28 So Levi got up, left everything, and followed him.
29 Then Levi gave a big dinner for Jesus at his house. Many tax collectors and other people were eating there, too. 30 But the Pharisees and the men who taught the law for the Pharisees began to complain to Jesus’ followers, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?”
31 Jesus answered them, “It is not the healthy people who need a doctor, but the sick. 32 I have not come to invite good people but sinners to change their hearts and lives.”

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying man Father, we read in the first chapter of the Bible where You spoke to Jesus, “Let us make man in our own image.” We also see His presence in the last chapter of the Bible where Jesus declares that He is coming soon and spoke these words, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.” From the beginning of creation until the end of the age Christ has gone before us, walked alongside us, and will reign throughout all eternity. It is Christ Jesus, the Alpha and Omega, who directs our steps, sustains us, and empowers us to walk in accordance to Scripture day in and day out.  Amen.

LIVE SIMPLY! LOVE GENEROUSLY! CARE DEEPLY! SPEAK KINDLY! LEAVE THE REST WITH GOD!!
