Tuesday June 2, 2015 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-Tell the truth completely, tell it consistently, tell it lovingly, tell it cautiously-
2-When your children see you lie, they learn to lie-
3-God wants his children to be honest in all areas of life-
4-We tell the truth by living it-
5-Trust is the glue that makes a relationship work-

STRANGE THOUGHT-I was writing a letter and wondered if the word I used was spelled correctly.  I paused to see if a red line would appear underneath it.  It didn't-

I'VE LEARNED-Canaan's greatest threat to Israel was not its army but it's religion-

DID YOU KNOW-Trabant is is the German word for  "satellite
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Do we know for sure who wrote the book of Hebrews?
2-Can you believe in God and not know him?
3-Do Christians deserve good things?
4-Is being just and fair the same thing?
5-How much money does it take to provide security?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Who said "Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit, and to keep back part of the price of the land?"
Answer     Peter   Acts5:3

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY    Luke 4:31-37
31 Jesus went to Capernaum, a city in Galilee, and on the Sabbath day, he taught the people. 32 They were amazed at his teaching, because he spoke with authority. 33 In the synagogue a man who had within him an evil spirit shouted in a loud voice, 34 “Jesus of Nazareth! What do you want with us? Did you come to destroy us? I know who you are—God’s Holy One!”
35 Jesus commanded the evil spirit, “Be quiet! Come out of the man!” The evil spirit threw the man down to the ground before all the people and then left the man without hurting him.
36 The people were amazed and said to each other, “What does this mean? With authority and power he commands evil spirits, and they come out.” 37 And so the news about Jesus spread to every place in the whole area.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying manFather, thank You for Jesus, the Bright Morning Star. We also thank You for John the Baptist who had a vital role as prophet of the Highest when he gave knowledge of salvation to unbelievers leading them to repentance of their sins. We thank You that he came to give light to those who sat in darkness and the shadow of death, to guide their feet into the way of peace. We consider the ultimate price that he paid in laying down his life because he was a prophet who spoke the truth even when it cost him everything. He didn’t preach “peace and comfort” to those practicing sin, but instead he told them how to be saved. Help us to follow his example and lead unbelievers to the Bright Morning Star who will guide us through this dark, sin troubled world to the eternal abode where there will be no more night, for Your glory will give us light and the Lamb will be as a lamp for all to see. Keep us faithful until that eventful day we pray. Amen.

I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING!
