Sunday November 5, 2017 thought for the day

THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-If you avoid conflict to keep the peace you start a war inside yourself-
2-You can't do what you want until you know what you are doing-
3-The old testament predicted a Messiah and a suffering servant but not that the Messiah would be the suffereing servant-
4-When a person is born again, they are not immune to sin, but they are no longer a slave to sin-
5-To "believe" does not mean mere intellectal acknowledgment that jesus is God, it is putting our trust and confidence in him that he can save us-entrusting our eternal destiny to him and him alone-

STRANGE THOUGHT
For every problem there is a simple solution,  unfortunately it is usually wrong-

I'VE LEARNED
For the christian there should be no disconnect between faith and financial freedom-

DID YOU KNOW
Male monkeys lose the hair on their heads in the same manner men do-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Jesus always offered forgiveness and was never asked for it, so why must we ask him for it?
2-How do we become salty Christians?
3-Spiritually speaking, do we do better under adversity or prosperity?
4-Why is it that God often has to speak to us through adversity-
5-Can you be saved without repentance?

BIBLE TRIVIA
Name the person who said  “You should have struck five or six times!”  “Then you would have struck Aram until you had completely destroyed it. But now you will defeat it only three times.”?

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY
Romans 4:13-16   Abraham and his descendants received the promise that they would get the whole world. He did not receive that promise through the law, but through being right with God by his faith. 14 If people could receive what God promised by following the law, then faith is worthless. And God’s promise to Abraham is worthless, 15 because the law can only bring God’s anger. But if there is no law, there is nothing to disobey.16 So people receive God’s promise by having faith. This happens so the promise can be a free gift. Then all of Abraham’s children can have that promise. It is not only for those who live under the law of Moses but for anyone who lives with faith like that of Abraham, who is the father of us all.
